I know the writing isn't (that) good in this series but I actually think they're getting a little better at gameplay. The director's need some better feedback at how their future installments should be.
The writing is great, it accomplishes its goal perfectly. First and foremost, it's a horror game. Some cheesy lines are 100% expected. The gameplay is very much improved over Little Hope, and as long as Supermassive keeps this momentum, the next title will be good too.
The good news is that the upcoming game is the “season finale,” so hopefully they will take the time to get the feedback they need to improve the next batch of games.
This is mostly a long series of betrayals on Jackson's part. It's a pretty good set up, since Charlie is honest and loyal, but terrible at QTEs, while Jackson is constantly making devious decisions and backing them up with excellent QTE performance.
I love how people are upset that he's picking the wrong decisions and failing QTEs, but I'm honestly all here for it. At least the outcome would be something you won't see from other gamers

Before the intro was even done I'd figured the monsters were either gonna be mutant cave people, or aliens. Why can't it just be ACTUAL DEMONS for once? Why can't it actually have relevance to that ancient culture? It just felt SO CHEAP! And there's enough historical information to work with to craft a pretty decent story based on it, some article even thought the game was gonna focus on Pazuzu, but naaaaaw, let's just make it frigging aliens.

I think one factor might be that these games are very cinematic so if you go a while watching everything move on it’s own, you might be taken aback when a qte pops up. Although that’s kind of hard to claim when it’s in the middle of a high paced action sequence lol
I found it hilarious that the one female character(i dont count clarice because she's missing for most of the game) is the center of a dumb high school-level level "love triangle" who's constantly passive aggressive to her husband whom she's cheating on. Then you learn that she caused him to lose his leg after she brings it up and then gets dismissive about it. No one can beat Supermassive games when it comes to creating hate-able characters. They definitely could've done something better with her.
Thats the whole point of her character is that she is a bitch, hence her nickname in game being "Queen Bitch". I think it lends a little more charm to the game with all the characters being horror movie archetypes, that makes the control you have over the story that much more interesting, i played with friends and they all hated Rachel but when it came down to it she still was a character we'd spent time with, and i personally try to get everyone out alive
It pretty much depends, I played and got the best ending and everyone was nice to each other. At the end Rachel came back with Erik and Nick accepted it happily

They were looking for the weapons silo, then they had to find the rest of their team. However, they ran into the vampires and decided to gather more intel. Some of them have hero complexes, so they wanted to try and destroy what was down there to protect the civilians that are being fed to them by the shepherds.
I played from the same perspective as Charlie, it is definitely the more boring of the two. Also Eric died for me at the same part as Charlie so you literally only played Jason for the rest of the game and Nick like once. Kind of wish these games had 6 characters so it was balanced for co-op.

Thats the whole point of her character is that she is a bitch, hence her nickname in game being "Queen Bitch". I think it lends a little more charm to the game with all the characters being horror movie archetypes, that makes the control you have over the story that much more interesting, i played with friends and they all hated Rachel but when it came down to it she still was a character we'd spent time with, and i personally try to get everyone out alive
It pretty much depends, I played and got the best ending and everyone was nice to each other. At the end Rachel came back with Erik and Nick accepted it happily
NEVER have I seen a person on their own channel be so THOROUGHLY be carried through a playthrough as I witnessed in this absolute mess and I LOVED IT.

These games are genuinely good, particularly the last 2 imo, sure there is some goofy moments but when playing the game seriously and giving your attention to try to figure out whats going on, instead of just messing around with a friend, the stories are actually engaging and interesting and the gameplay is tense trying to keep everyone alive. I love charlie but you guys should watch an actual playthrough of the games/ play them yourselves and im sure you'll have a different opinion on them than you get from just watching these videos

I played from the same perspective as Charlie, it is definitely the more boring of the two. Also Eric died for me at the same part as Charlie so you literally only played Jason for the rest of the game and Nick like once. Kind of wish these games had 6 characters so it was balanced for co-op.
