My favorite part is when you flip your hat backwards every time you rip it 😂 thanks for the vid and helping me decide what boat to buy. Already had my mind on the fx20
I have a 18ft SeaRay with a 5.7L and with a 23p 3 blade I got 58 mph. For me thats flying but when bringing several people and some more gear and coolers ect I got prop slip coming out of the hole so I went down to a 19p and now it will set you back in the seat when coming out of the hole and I still topped out at 50mph and thats plenty for me. The Skeeter looks bad ass and I love the digital guages on the graph. That 70+ is flying.
I hope you take this to heart. Please keep both hands on your steering wheel. I've seen some very bad things happen to guys in bass boats. It might seem smooth and you have confidence but one mishap like hitting something floating just under the surface or something fails with the boat and you could be facing a severe injury or worse. Please be safe and well.
FXR is a bad ass boat man...i bet it rides like a cadillac too...looks like you got the right wheel but yea maybe the 24 will give you more rpm (roughly 300rpm per pitch)....im a BassCat guy but if I were to go another brand Skeeter would be it...I have a Pantera 2 with a merc that runs 72mph fully loaded with a partner (poles, 4 graphs, ultrex etc)...its much lighter/ more nimble than the FXR so not a good comparison but I do like pushing the big boys haha
Speed alone don't catch fish but if your number is 10 boats back but you get to the spot first and catch the winning bag well I guess speed matters if it didn't we would all be running 40hp trackers lol
Very nice ride no doubt. But!!! Why do anglers try to impress other anglers with speed. When the boat is not under a tournament load. I never fish with a half tank of fuel nor do I fish with part of my tackle n rods. Half the time I have a grown man in my boat also. If I was worried about speed!! I’d try under a full load to purchase a prop. Just curious
This was the first year the FXRs came out. It was a new model nobody knew anything about. I was just curious how fast these boats would run. That’s it 🤷🏻♂️, not selling props or anything, just curious.
@@SabbFishing lol every kid sees whose bike is fastest....hell yeah we gotta grip it n rip it...i lost a race went out n bought a hydro with nitrous...lol u do u
Would be nice if these boat's would maintain 75 with two guy's and livewell full, tourney loaded, then you'd have a serious thing going on, but by the time you add above mentioned gear & people you'll be lucky to maintain 70 maybe even 68. But imo that's how it is with most boats. Beautiful rig tho!
Might be able to pick up some speed taking the motor up a little more. Dont have to worry about blowout on the Yamaha gearcase until mid 80’s. Not sure on Yamahas but Mercs can go down around 11 or 12 for water pressure. I was amazed how much of a top end difference motor height made on my Allison XB21. Be safe brother.
@@johnwolff1043 allison is much lighter boat and can carry the hull at higher engine settings than 99% of other bass boats,,,,on heavy boats like this you can only go so high before the weight of the boat overpowers the hold the gearcase has in the water increasing slip and loosing speed ....rpm may go up but speed wont because of slip.....
Yes, I am sure if you are going to want to open her up full throttle, tilt that motor about 15 degrees up. You might chin walk a little; maybe not, but you, and that 3- blade Fury would get 77 Mph. Also consider those power poles are added weight too. If you have Bob Marines super jack plate, set it to highest position. Problem with higher top end speed sacrifices hole shot.. No free lunch. I feel you got a really great boat. One other thing, High Octane fuel, or racing fuel could also add mph. Be careful. Tweeks can only do so much. If I had your boat, I would get a custom raker chopper prop made to my specs of my motor, to get the most RPM, and speed. I would also on long runs where you want to open it up to tilt motor about 15 degrees is enough. Try these tweeks and tell me if you don't hit 80mph. You should. Also there is a computer chip you can buy, that will increase HP and RPM. It's a high performance chip module. Shop has to install it for you. Will surely get you in the upper 90's....... May void out your warranty, but your boat would be super fast!!!!!!
Yeah i got the sho 25 pitch.....built for the vmax sho...thats where i would start too...but he did fine 74 is plenty...new boat needs to get used to her...
I have 2014 skeeter fx 20 it will d0 75 mph with a 25 ptch prop the only problem is I can't catch fish going that fast:) Besides all fast will do is get you killed!
My Bullet 20XD 225XS sport with sports master lower unit does 82 to 83 gps! I can’t believe this 250 hp can’t at least do mid 70s, you got to get up to 6200 rpm, you said you got 74 earlier!😂😂 no video though! I’ll blow this 250 horse Skeeter away with my 225!
Not sure about the back brace. Went fishing with 2 different buddies on the same day with ROUGH water conditions....the Bass Cat felt no different than riding in a car while the Skeeter was bouncin all over.
Y’all kill me with all the hate in this mans boat.
72 is fast enough to play with ANYone our there if done right.
Well done sir 👍🏻
Well done indeed

looks like it was very smooth (except for that last prop)...alot of boats you have to drive at those speeds like my Cat...his was solid
Beautiful rig man
What type of propeller do you have? Pitch and diameter?

On the fury was it a three
Blade or a four?
3
What were the colors on this boat?
I can’t remember exactly, if you call Marshall’s Marine in Lake City SC they can look it up and give them to you.
Nice rig. I'm sure I'll see it on Murray.
Where did you have the hydro Jack plat set....
jhon doe I had to run my Atlas up to 10 on the gauge. I’d say the plate was up 3” or so.
SabbFishing awesome thanks for the help...I'm picking mine up next week....
Awesome, you’ll enjoy it. It’s a great ride!
Can you please figure out the volume on this vid? Can barely hear your voice and when your back round music comes on, my windows blew out
Dose your skeeter boat get water in the storage compartments in hevy rain.
sheaffer grubbs I haven’t had it in the rain yet!
That thing is a bmf.i get mine in 2 weeks....... what a kick ass vedio....
Kinda strange. 2020 Phoenix 920 with a 250 Mercury Pro XS will run 80+. Is the skeeter a heavier boat?
Not sure about that but there’s not many boats that are gonna hang with the Phoenix as far as speed!
I kinda figured the Skeeter would have been just as fast as the comparable Phoenix. Either way I’d be proud to own either.
Speed alone don't catch fish but if your number is 10 boats back but you get to the spot first and catch the winning bag well I guess speed matters if it didn't we would all be running 40hp trackers lol
@James Wilson gotta fish like one to be one!....... sorry your jon boat is slow.....lol
SabbFishing Aaron martens Phoenix 921 runs 78 loaded down, a 920 with the same set up should run faster
How did you like the boat
Love the boat!
We broke a 2021 fxr at Saginaw bay we came back in in 5-6 footers with the hole up going about 25-35 and cracked the hole in half
And his 21 footer with full tournament load was getting up to 76 that boat slow asf why
It really looked like you were fighting the boat at those top speeds, how big were the waves??
It was pretty rough but the boat handled em well.
I am going to make sure that I get you a WO Grubb Crane Hat. Nice video
Lol! I’ll take it!
What’s a 25 furry????
Good video.
Those RPMS are low. If you want to see it run get the RPMS over 6000.
@Top Dawg it will hit the rev limiter at 6200rpm. My FX21LE will gain 3 or 4 mph from 5800 to 6150. The Sho likes to eat.
Fury props are hard to beat. any thought on trying a 4 blade?
Should of ran a 24 fury as the 25 is really like 26.
Joey, where are you running your jackplate on plane?
Bill, the 2020 would run the best with the Jackplate set at 10, the 2021s sweet spot is 5

Fast enough!
You need a microphone Dude.... WIsh my trim was on my steering column...!
Maybe raise your motor. Should be 6-6200 rpm and squeeze some more mph. Nice boat!
I agree.

18-19 I believe

There is no point in going anywhere over 80, most boats can't hit 75. At that point you risk your own safety as well as possibly damage your boat
Damn I was thinking you were gonna be at 82..... shoot
thats basscat speed :)
Some props, if you have a half tank and no tackle you can get em to 80 and over
The only way that tank is going 80 is on the trailer behind the Truck.
You da damm man
Very nice boat , however merc props are trash ears to thick unlike Yamahas an rudes props they will turn more rpms an thinner

Jimmy Cline it’s a Bullet, it’s supposed to be faster. I’ll stick with the Skeeter 🦟 thanks!
74 downwind
Other bullet owners you only doing 82, you making bullet look bad 😂
You'd think that for the $100K price he paid for this boat, it would drive itself.
Sharrow prop might be even faster.
Those Skeeters are cookie cutter boats....if you want to go fast, buy a Bass Cat
