    Dude, this IS AWESOME! I have already decided that I am going to spend my whole weekend getting all the materials for this and starting the building process, I look forward to having this completed and painted then going out to the airsoft field in full ODST mode. thank you very much for sharing this.

    • @Ghostlysoap383

      Ghillie Guy did you end up playing airsoft with the armour after? Ive been wondering if the bbs would bounce off the foam or stick in.

    • @Golden-Samurai
      @Golden-Samurai 3 года назад +1

      Yeah same I would like to know that

    • @Epicbrodude31
      @Epicbrodude31 3 года назад +1

      Foam isn’t the best for airsoft and wearing the helmet which isn’t certified for airsoft use can result in injury

    • @lolgetout953
      @lolgetout953 2 года назад

      @@Ghostlysoap383 Depends on the distance and the speed of which a bb goes, really. It can either bounce off or go a little bit in. Personally I didn't experience any bb fully going into my armor, but it did leave a good mark.

      I notice the clothing for the ODST armor next to you matches the armor. Do you mind saying what clothing you used and how to choose?

    • @AndrewDFT

      I went to a second hand clothes store, and looked for oldish overalls. I found that color, and designed all my costumes color palattes around it =)

      +Andrew DFT A good idea you should do for future armors.
      if you ever plan on doing a dark grey or black. a great undersuit would be motorcycle gear.

      Andy Perry some company makes the mass effect armour out of full motorcycle leather suits. Rooster teeth used them for an immersion episode.

    Thnx for the tutorial. Thinking about encasing it in a shell of kydex and attach them to a motorcycle jacket. I may end up with a full build but my helmet is definitely not odst in thr least bit. I keep getting either fallout or doom guy. Honestly its was supposed to be a gas mask theme. Welp we will see how it goes and i may post a link later. Cheers.

    I’ve tried so many times to do this.. but the hinge part comes out crap every time..
    I’m using some old eva foam that’s been in the garage (in the cold) for awhile, would that effect how easy it is to cut? I’m using brand new blades too :/

    When you go to seal this piece of armor, would you recommend plasti-dip? Its like a spray on rubber sealant.

    • @SpazSpartan57
      @SpazSpartan57 5 лет назад +1

      no plasti dip doesn't stick to the foam as well
      use wood glue

    Are you going to make a Halo 4/5 Recruit Armor template+tutorial at some point? I've seen your H4 Spartan IV armor set, and I think how skilled you are right now, it shouldn't take to long. (Please note I'm a complete newbie in the cosplay world and have no clue how long it actually takes to make a template of a full suit.)

    • @zelot113

      on his template you can buy there is small and medium size people and smaller sized people. so 2 kinds you can make

    • @AndrewDFT
      @AndrewDFT  8 лет назад

      Tall and slim is not really a major issue at all for scaling. Its more thickness/ muscle that could mean you need to adjust certain parts.

    • @lolgetout953
