- This evening the Holfuy web site gave two contrary weather directions. At one site (Allandale) the wind was SWS, while at John Brittan it was NW. Both location had rapidly dropping wind speeds, and a change in direction was totally possible.
We drove to the JB reserve, to be greeting by a thick cloud layer, covering the LZ.
Ah well, that explained the 8 degree temperature drop!
Anyhoo, we were all desperate to get some flight time, so out came the planes, and the lunacy commenced.
Launch the model, and almost immediately it disappeared into the low cloud layer.
Fun times indeed!! 🤪😜
That would have been soupy for even me Joanne!
It was definitely a VERY small world that evening. I flew the Weasel for a little while, but a white model, on a white cloud layer, surrounded by white made for a fraught and nerve wracking flight! 😂
Perfect weather for a Night Radian, surely? Totally understand the desperation to fly, though...
The cloud layer was rather low. Out in the city everything was clear, but about 2/3 up the road the world became rather small, cold, and damp.
Ordinarily we would sit and chat if the wind drops, but this avo we all went home when the damp conditions became unpleasant. 😦
@@jo2lovid Bummer... 😔
Those stick-on navigation lights would have been good for that weather but scary all the same to lose your model in the mist 🙂
Some ultra powerful strobe lights might have worked, but the wind was low enough that the extra weight would not have been 'great".
A big EDF jet would clear that all up 😅
LOL, But it might be a short flight into the mist. ☁☁☁☁☁☁☁☁✈☁☁☁☁☁☁☁☁
