Quite sad!! This is second time I can say, we are having similar experience. Earlier one was break failure due to pressure pump issue in Mahindra and second one is this one, accident because of cow. This year in Jan end, I was travelling from Bangalore to Punjab and doing a solo road trip in my Mitsubishi Montero. I stayed for couple of days in Ahmedabad and then started towards Punjab. At around 8:00 PM near Sikar (a place about 100 KM from Jaipur), an antelope (Neelgai) come running from opposite side of road and I met with similar fate as you. Speed was around 120KMPH when accident happened. I had a dashcam and footage did get recorded. Damage was much lesser in comparison to your car and that I think I attribute to build quality of Montero. I had 3rd party insurance so unfortunately I had to get all the repairs done myself.
Did you notice, we get warnings before anything bad is supposed to happen and we only kind of ignore them? I notice how you kept talking about cows on road and you sounded worried as if you knew about accident. Something similar with me. I credit myself as a good driver but just a day before the accident, I got so many signals. I touched a pole lightly while reversing in Ahmedabad, lost my shark fin antenna while trying to go below a railway crossing and then while getting car washed, forgot to put handbrakes. Car was about to roll-back. I did not listen to all these warnings and continued journey and next day had mishap.
All's well that ends well! Good to know you, like me, survived this accident. All the best for future.
Excellent comment, I do have observed such warning coming to me, and with all this years of experience I listen to it. If I really need to continue then I'll be more careful otherwise as much as possible I'll stop driving, or give the vehicle to somebody else to try. I think our mind becomes numb so we start doing smaller mistakes and then it becomes a big mistake

I also had a life threatening accident in 2018 and post that I've realised one thing which I tell everyone is "No matter how good you are or how experienced you are, there will always be naive/immature or less experienced drivers on road due to which accidents might happen... So the point is, always be active and never be overconfident about driving... Keep on doing this amazing trips in future, but with proper care...
