I got my city pro back up and running from where I had been hit by a car on it 2 months ago. Not sure if you remember my comments about that lol. 500 miles on it so far and I love it. Smooth ride and like you said literally silent motors. Suspension is great handles the road well. They have the new upgrade kit coming out with the turning signals on the ends of the bars plus a few other bonuses. I went ahead and purchased that I'm excited for when it ships out in July.
Of course I remember....so pleased you're back on your scooter again :) :) Excited to hear that you ordered the upgrade kit...I'm so curious :) :) Can you let me know how easy it is to upgrade and also if you like the upgrade?
Letting you know that I have the prototype ones and killed charging. I have it under repaired, at no cost. I have used it for 944 km already. I still recommend this a 1000 times. So much fun!
Apollo is brilliant for adding the separate regen brake paddle on their scooters. Not having to replace brake pads is super nice, and getting a bit of extra range from it is a nice plus. I know that some don't like the drum brakes, but I think that's a smart move as well for the IP rating. Between combining regen brake and drum brake you could probably stop just as fast if not faster than disc brakes anyway.
@@christianb8228 You have to press a separate regen thumb paddle to apply the regen brakes. They work by basically reversing the current of the motors, so that instead of consuming power they generate power. The harder you press on the regen brake throttle the more electricity is generated and the faster you stop.
is the suspension noisy? does the part with the tyre bang against the frame when you drive over a bump and it snaps back? making a banging noise? like the segway Max G2 for example
Great video, I have a new city pro 22 and I have been getting temp issues. I want to go the full 50km/30mph all the time, but maybe I'm too heavy right now. Does yours ever give you controller temp issues where it starts beeping?
Hi Drew, I've never seen it...but I think you're pushing the limits of the scooter...for that kind of riding I'd be looking at the Phantom or even a Wolf King GT or something that has the ability to dissipate the heat more efficiently from both the motors (less of an issue) and the battery/controller area. :)
so range on a scooter is going to be affected by weight, wind, hills, riding speed and temperature...Jamie did a range test on it (he's 165lbs) and it was a cold day...here's the link: ruclips.net/video/8WG779szsk8/видео.html
@@7sonero7 the City is lower than the Phantom ...it feels lower too :) I don't have the Phantom here (Jamie is using it for DoorDash) so I can't measure the difference.
One downside - no obvious place to lock. No wheels to go through, and the footplate handle loop looks detachable. I’ve found you really need a U lock, and to fit it I paired with an ortlieb bike fork carry bag (which attaches to the stem nicely). This means you don’t need to carry the U lock separately/have it rattling on the handlebars. I use the hiplock dx1000 U lock which is arguably overkill, but I got one apollo city stolen when I used just an Abus folding lock. Thank goodness for insurance.
I really appreciate your reply @cambridgeecon, I'm going to try and find the bike fork carry bag you mentioned...that would be so handy....although typically I push my scooter into all establishments and so don't use a lock very often....cheers and much appreciated :)
@TimsElectric No worries. Keep up the great work 👊🏿. And thanks for the assistance. I finally made up my mind and am definitely gonna go with one of the Apollo models. Was surprised to also find out it's a Canadian company coz I'm also based here in Canada. Kelowna to be exact. But yeah as I mentioned on the first video I discovered you I kept doing some research and I think Apollo will suit me best from my research although I came close to choosing one of the Segway and Varla models but eventually decided upon the Apollo Air :)
@@TimsElectric Will do 🙏🏿 and thanks yeah everything has calmed down now with the fires. Tim my friend, i can understand your support to Apollo scooters... But this Scooter is the most EXPENSIVE drum brake!!! No my friend!! The scooter market getting grow every day bigger and bigger.... The competition is very high!! This scooter has no luck!!! Except if they cute price IN HALF!!!!!!😘
agree to disagree,.....I love drum brakes as the maintenance is low but if you're a speed demon, then you're going to want a different scooter with hydraulic brakes :) also with the regen brakes...I almost never use the drum brakes. lastly, it rains a lot here in the winter and with a high IP rating and no mechanical or hydraulic brakes to get wet and rusty, the drum brakes suit this climate and me perfectly. I really use it most days now :) Cheers and thanks for sharing your comment :)

It's underpowered and overpriced. Design and low maintenance are really the only things it has. One of the weakest and lowest-ranged scooters at the price point. Just last night for going to referee a soccer game...it's not too heavy...but so smooth and quiet...love it ...not fast (you're right) and the battery could be bigger but the smoothness of the acceleration and regen braking is awesome...plus I think it looks modern and clean :)
Yes as an owner, I'd have to agree with you. It's much longer, taller, wider and heavier than my Ninebot Max G30LP, almost twice as heavy in fact. If a commuter scooters needs to be somewhat portable then this isn't a commuter. I can only just get it up a flight of stairs. I'm happy with the choice though. I was looking for the low maintenance and for something that could easily survive being riden in the rain and it's now survived 5 months of wet weather and a couple of serious crashes which might have messed up disc brakes.
@@TimsElectric I just rode home from work and didn't use the drum brakes once. In fact I only use them when practising an emergency stop or if I want to keep the scooter stationary on uneven ground. I use the front drum and the regen to get the best emergency stopping performance.

Awesome question @7sonero7, they're both smooooth :) I adjusted the City P settings so that it was less aggressive in one of the modes :)
