    Oh yeah, I'm one of those guys that saves the lever. lol Another great video!!!

    Lol yes I also throw stupid crap like that lever in a box or on the shelf. Hardware especially. That is just a mechanic thing in my opinion. Keep them coming man. As usual we appreciate channels with actual correct info.

      @restoroosterohv  7 дней назад +1

      I know I will never use that lever again but I still do it anyways. Hardware is a different beast. I save every nut and bolt I pull from my parts engines and use them constantly. Thanks for your comment and support.

    Hi Rooster, just love the videos and currently watching your latest on the TT model. I seen when you opened the carb and it was truly ugly. If I may make a tool suggestion, get yourself a ultrasonic cleaner. It would easily have cleaned that carb in 30 mi utes and all the jets too. I was sceptical about them being able to clean badly gummed, and varnished carbs but they make easy work of them and will save you a few bucks too. I bought mine from Vevor and have been totally impressed as I see so many gummed up carbs and people who use ethanol fuel and then leave their bikes outside in the element's too causing big time issues. Anyhow I encourage you to look into it as it will save you a few bucks. I first watched it from another RUclips person fixing bikes, quads and sxs, etc.
    After seeing you with the endoscope/bore scope I'm putting my order in. Although I'm from BC Canada and suspect I won't be able to use your code for a savings but I liked your intro to it and can see the benefits. Keep up the great videos as I've learned a few tricks from you and appreciate your abilities. Cheers!

      As long as you use my link, I’ll get the credit and I don’t see any reason why you couldn’t use my discount code (if they have a better offer when you get to the page, feel free to use that).
      Thanks for your advice, I do have an ultrasonic cleaner and they work fantastic but I generally don’t even bother with a carburetor this bad, just asking for a lot of troubleshooting time afterwards. I am a huge advocate for using ethanol free fuel if you watch any of my videos and that’s what a lot of my merch is about. Thanks for your comment.

      The original owner contacted me after watching the video last night and gave me a little more backstory. They shipped it to Georgia in 2008 but didn’t get to move here until 2022 so it’s sat outside for a little while and then moved to his brother‘s basement. It was his wife’s bike. I asked him if they wanted it back, but unfortunately, she’s having health issues and can no longer ride.

      Thank you for your kind words and support. I have a few videos on building jigs, replacing rods and trueing if you’d like to check them out. It’s not that difficult to do and very rewarding not to mention saving money and time. Happy holidays to you and yours as well.

    Love the content RR! You've inspired me to look for an old 125 two-stroke father/son project. Question, how old is too old and what make would you lean towards for success? TY

      Stick with Japanese bikes. Mid 80s up (water cooled). Hondas are most sought after so the price will be higher. May have parts issues with the older bikes though. Thanks for watching.

      Using a heat gun on plastics can make them look new again if your careful

    • @restoroosterohv
      @restoroosterohv  6 дней назад

      Oh yes, it can sometimes help with removing the white streaks and certainly for straightening bent plastics

    Love the vids ❤

      The RPM will certainly be high when the “choke” circuit is engaged. Hard to start, I would check your valve clearances.

      Just have to buy the OEM baffle. Not worth spending the money because people just take them out anyway.

    Question
    Have you purchased yz250f cylinder piston from eBay before with success or do you think this would be a ticking grenade waiting to cost a lot more?

    • @restoroosterohv
      @restoroosterohv  6 дней назад

      With Chinese parts, you are taking a risk. I have used the aftermarket piston and cylinder for the TTR 125 and they are pretty solidly made. Of course that’s a mild engine that doesn’t rev very high. Little different story with the race bikes
