Summer Cranking And Taking A Spill At Lake Lanier

  • In this video we are at Lake Lanier in early June throwing crank baits for bass. At certain times the fish key in on different things to feed on. On this day they were keying in on crawfish so the Spro Rock Crawler was the bait of choice. Be sure to watch until the end to see me face plant into my camera tripod and embarrass myself. Thanks for watching! Make sure you subscribe so you don't miss an episode!

    I have balance issues too, and those boats can be hazardous, especially when you catch some big waves while you're bending over. I've started wearing a life vest because of it. I've always had the vest in the boat, but not on usually. Glad you didn't seriously hurt yourself. I have a good quality tripod you can have if you want it. I bought a better one, so it is not being used. Let me know if you want it, and we'll make arrangements to meet somewhere or I can drop it off for you on the Gainesville side of the lake.

      Thanks, but I've already ordered another tripod. Amazon has them pretty cheap. I need to start wearing a life jacket, but usually don't because of the camera on my chest and the mics too.

    Easy does it Dana. Be deliberate in your moves on and off the boat. Keep your balance points. I'm quite a bit older than you and I've learned not to rush around the boat, trailer. Too easy to hook myself or trip, lose balance. Can I send you a few bucks to restock your equipment?

    Trying to avoid falling I purchased a step system this spring for the bow. I had enough crawling in and out holding on to the boat and trailer frame. Heck even my 27 year old son said it’s the best investment I’ve made. Just yesterday I ordered a boarding ladder for the transom. You never know which way you’re going to fall. Sir be careful out there.

    • @FCPFishing
      @FCPFishing  3 месяца назад +1

      We just use a small step ladder to get in the boat. Works pretty good. I seem to be able to hit the deck even if I'm sitting in the seat. I try to fish sitting down as much as I can, but sometimes you have to stand to work the bait correctly.

    All that time on the water and you still don't have your sea-legs. Getting old sucks. My knees are too shot to do any real backpacking anymore and I had a major back injury years ago that still hinders me. A tripod can be replaced. No lasting injuries and you stayed dry. Its kind of funny that Zane was more upset that you didn't keep the fish hooked.

      The Rock Crawler packaging says they go down to 14 feet, but realistically I think it's maybe 10. You want to be digging in the rocks. We fished points that drop off quickly into deeper water. We threw shallow, but most of the bites came out a ways, maybe 8 to 12 feet deep.
