I don't have NEARLY as many shoes as you do, but I have been straight. up. AGONIZING. about how to store them (our closet is small) in an aesthetically pleasing way that wouldn't hinder access to the clothes in the closet. This will actually empty about 1/4 of our closet space AND give me a kind of "art piece" of shoes to display on a bit of wall that's been empty since we moved in! Thanks so much! Lifesaver!

I made the same shoe racks with LACK half a year ago. It horribly collected dust! I would spend 15 minutes cleaning the whole thing. Too much fuss for me.
ishe vee They come with the wall bracket but NO SCREWS. I put mine up with 10 screws + wall anchors in each one (because no stud where I needed it). Got the screws from Home Depot
My husband’s shoe size is 10.5”, so I don’t think the shelves are wide enough. Do you have any suggestions on what else we could use to make these shelves?
I have the very small lack shelves in a corner with my most ornate shoes and perfume collection. IKEA is so affordable and looks really good. I agree that the wideness makes them look so much more expensive

No it's actually perfect! I just make sure to dust everything once/twice a week and always clean shoes before I put them back on. These particular shelves are so so tidy so note overwhelming at all. x

Hi Erika! I've recently moved to Toronto and I am in the process of doing up my apartment here too! I was actually looking at the Lack shelves myself in Ikea. I wanted to put one over my couch in the living room area! But wasn't sure about hanging them as the walls here are quite thin!! How do they go up? What are the fixtures? My walls here are dry wall!
The shelving looks really nice. How are you going to store your longer boots. Tee Hee I like to keep my shoes in boxes but this got me thinking. This looks great. I was hoping to see the shelves put up to see if it’s something I could do or not. You could put another shelf on the bottom and put your flats there and it wouldn’t even necessarily have to be a foot down from the bottom shelf. Can’t wait to see your bags.

This is the exact Idea I had in my old place with the IKEA shelves, It just allows your room to be neat and also have a shoe store vibe. This time round I have a cupboard with shelves already built in for my shoes 😃

You should add an extra shelf on the bottom but also one on top, it’ll make the wall look much higher therefore the ceilings as well

Did you need to use anchors or anything or it holds enough weight?
The downside is the width is 26 cm. It's a bit too small to hold the shoes. Normal size of shoes rack is 35 cm in width.
