Small business sales week is here and every year Garage Grown Gear does a roundup of all the awesome small backpacking brands they sell and the sales to look out for. This year I wanted to highlight some of my favorite backpacking brands that are having sales in case you’re looking for new backpacking gear this season. That said, I always want to advocate that the gear you already have (and that works) is always the best gear there is! Don’t take this as a sign to go buy a bunch of backpacking gear you don’t need, but rather an endorsement of these brands if you have been needing an item and it happens to be on sale!
I almost exclusively buy backpacking gear on sale because contrary to popular belief, backpacking is an expensive hobby, so I hope this roundup helps you save some money and get out with some new backpacking gear this spring! Plus, we get to support small businesses!
All the gear I talked about in this video is linked here:

Small Business Sales Week!!🎉🎊
WEEE!!
Thanks for the heads-up, Elise.
Don't forget to grab your Bear Can Key to easily open your BearVault Canister from CTUG!! Our shop is 20% off as well :) Thanks for supporting small business gear!
Thx for the reminder!
wow I didn't know this existed!! You mean I don't have to hunt down my spork and struggle every time I need to get my food out?
@@eliseott Exactly!! Attach it right to your BearVault Canister OR use it as a keychain.
I've seen so many reviews about "micro" bears (mice etc). Being able to chew through ursacks. They sell two different types that are different prices to help with the issue but because of this I'll probably stick with bear canister.
Edit: The discounts are all half of what was stated in the video. The hats are only 10% off for example.
Hmm I haven't had that issue but I also don't leave mine on the ground so maybe I haven't given it a proper test. I have the one that's rate for both bears and mice. Also, thanks for the heads up, I'm checking on this right now.
okay update on the sales! some of them did change or are more discounted on their own sites (or more discounted on GGG) I updated the links and my blog has everything accurate - unfortunately can't edit the video directly, but here's the most up to date info: www.eliseott.com/more-gear-lists/my-favorite-backpacking-gear-on-sale-for-garge-grown-gear-small-biz-sales-week
@eliseott maybe that's the trick is just making sure you hang it up. But I feel like I'd just use a regular dry bag in that case if bears aren't a concern. Although it definitely provides more protection.
so how much did you get paid for this advertisement?
as I said at 0:28, this was not a sponsored video. However, I do use affiliate links which means I get a commission (usually 2-10%) if you use the links in the description to purchase (this does not cost viewers/purchasers anything). I will always disclose if something is paid! I just had a slower week at my other jobs and wanted to highlight some of my favorite small businesses that I actually use.
