It's a shame Subaru discontinued the Forester XT. It's sporty yet still practical. Subaru faithful have begged for the XT to come back. The current Forester isn't bad but it could use the 2.4T from the Outback XT.
if they put at least the same transmission the BRZ has, it would sell better... some people into sports version of a SUV, does not like the CVT trans at all.
just upgraded my car from a 99' legacy outback to a 16' fozzy XT and Good LORD. The turbo sounds make me giggle every time. i threw on an exhaust and WOW. THIS IS MY DREAM CAR.PRACTICALITY FOR A DAD but sounds of a WRX
2018 was also the last year you could get a Forester with a manual transmission, that's how I got mine. Its not a sporty stick shift, far from it; it drives like a pickup truck. But it's the thought that counts, and its a shame the Forester is losing its roots a little both with the turbo with its sportiness and the manual with its ruggedness. The Forester truly has become just another SUV on the road, and I don't think it will ever be as special as it was for its first 4 generations.
A friend of mine let me take his Forrester around the block just to check it out. I was impressed with the get up and go for what it is. I also met someone about five years ago with a newer one that was manual. That was cool too.
The rear seats also slightly recline and I think that is the same between the premium and touring. The front Seats have partial leather or fake leather, just the middle part is cloth. One thing I like a lot is that the front headrests are adjustable and not stationary.
I'm pretty sure the wheels were the same between the premium and touring. At least here in the States. When I bought mine (I go the premium), there was a Touring and the Premium and both had the same wheels.
The dark wheels arent factory. Fun fact, it's actually the same rims that come on the touring that are on the premium, just the previous owner plasti-dipping them black.
I have had my 2015 for since it was delivered new. Still haven’t found a replacement. 2018s are still selling for close to 30k with lower miles , I paid 29k for mine 9 years ago !!!
I have a 2018 Subaru Forrester Premium and I noticed that the small screen between the gauges on my car is white with black digits, rather than black on white digits as on this car. Wonder if that was excusive to the XT since I find the one I have a bit hard to read in direct sunlight.
Somebody definitely cooked in that forester. The trim pieces for the premium version doesn’t come factory with carbon fiber, it doesn’t come with that front lip or fog lights.
The Touring does but not the premium like this one. I know cuz I have the XT Premium and have halogens. That is the one thing I wish I had from factory.

Last gen had a CVT, which is a shame
sales were low
Discontinued in the USA...making the 1.8 in Japan

Make sure you change the cvt fluid every 30k
Proud owner of a 2015 Forester XT. Purchased with 30k miles, now has 80k
9:23 In the Japanese market a turbo Forester is still offered tho the engine is a 1.8 litre instead of the 2 litre.

Seeing my car and trim on your channel improved my day! Though mine is the 2017 Forester xt premium and has some exterior modifications
Pics!

They are all CVT. Only the older models have manual.
Looking at buying one like it to replace my 2005 Legacy GT

Those are factory wheels.
The 2018 Forester Black Edition came with black wheels and black leather interior.
I love my XT premium. Minimum frills and maximum thrills in a compact SUV!
Ive been waiting for you to review one of these most people find these cars weird and not gonna lie I love these I think they are more interesting😁
think we could get a 3rd gen z71 tahoe review? i see them super rarely, and i can’t find much info online

Keep it up, great explanation
Great vid! Little correction though, Subaru has been using CVT since the 80s. You said they started in 2009.
I got it in white...
This blackout looks so badass
Super sad they have no plans to bring it back.. they even have the engine needed in the outback.. so happy I have my 18 XT Forester ❤❤
What rims are those?? Powder coated stockies?
I have an 18 XT Touring but has the silver rims.

I’ve a 2017 XT with the 280hp engine
Do you guys know if the 2019 outback xt seats fit in the 17 forester ?
Мой Forester XT 13 ещё на ходу😊
Very cool video
Very cool
You could have removed the cup holder divider and it would have fit your gargantuan bottle. That's the true fail. 🤷♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🙄
The reason they are having a hard time electrifying the Forester is because they can't figure out how to make the head gaskets leak.
Fun fact, only 4 years and not even every engine of those years had this issue. No turbo charged Subarus, like this one, had the issue.
2018 Forester XT's have LED projection lights.
The Touring does but not the premium like this one. I know cuz I have the XT Premium and have halogens. That is the one thing I wish I had from factory.
The nicer version of mine
Electric cars melt the planet, its a cruel joke.
They are fast soccer mom cars🤬
Nothing wrong with that.
