I really need to get to a meet in the near future. When time permits, I want to travel to the East Coast and attend.

Layout’s only spoiled by non scale stop/start and speed of the cars?

Where did you get that building that looks like the bridge and Pratt terminal ?

    • @sctransit

Mr Big That building was scratch built by Dave Gairo. We are currently working on the Elevated structure that runs on Frankford Ave. to put in front of the building.

Mr Big Yes, it is, but artistic license was used to fit it into the loop. It is somewhat condensed, but still recognizable!

Robert Southrey There are shapeways bodies available for Peter Witt and PCC cars.

Very rarely, I see S gauge PCC cars on eBay, but they don't look very nice. I know I saw a site somewhere that sold body kits for trolleys in HO, S, and O, but I can't remember what they called themselves, and can't find their site. I know they had a very nice looking body kit for a snow sweeper.
There used to be a small company called Putt Trains, that made a very nice S scale Birney car you could buy for either AC or DC operation, but from what I understand they weren't around long, and the cars are pretty tricky to find currently.
It's certainly much easier to find shells for S scale models than it is to find trucks and motors for them, I wonder if you'd have luck modifying an HO scale drive mechanism to S by re-gauging it? I've seen an O scale trolley model that used this strategy to use what appeared to be HO scale diesel locomotive power trucks. The original side frames were removed, and the axles were extended to the proper gauge. Might work for S, but I've never tried it myself!

Jud Powell The Broad St line produced whiplash in both directions. Plus maybe some lost teeth when your mouth hits the seat back in front of you.
