Geno’s legacy is being remembered for over 25 years DESPITE appearing fully playable in only one game.
That’s what’s called “having a lasting impression”.
And now he’s back for a Mario rpg remake
I find it hilarious that Geno is now playable in more Smash games than actual games.
Atleast half of fighters in smash have been in more smash games, than actual main franchise game including Ness, Lucas, Captain Falcon, Ice Climber, Mr Game and Watch etc.

On one side, you have one of the most iconic video game main antagonist, who not only appeared in multiple games, also became a template for any anime swordsman.
On the other side, you have a wooden puppet, who was a secondary character of a mario spinoff with virtually 0 character development, who didn't appeared in a game in 2 decades.
But choosing the main antagonist, rather than the wooden puppet, is a wasted opportunity and a screw up from Nintendo?

I recall Super Mario RPG fans did want a sequel. Instead we gotten Paper Mario and the Mario & Luigi series instead.

honestly, geno isnt my favorite character, not saying i hate him, not that at all. its mostly because i didnt really play mario rpg, and i dont have much of a connection of the game and characters like others do. plus im not much of an rpg guy either. im sure geno is a great character, i just need to play mario rpg

He's a possessed wooden doll, he has a literal hand gun, has the best spells in mario rpg, has a 1 shot move with proper timing against normal enemies, and had arguably the best character in the entire game. He was pretty much the best character in RPG so people loved him... He's kinda like the ultimate badass for a "kids game"
