Dear Jenny, I would like to suggest a video that I would ABSOLUTELY love you to make! As we are getting closer to the cosy holidays, I would love to watch a video of a fancy, cosy, and luxurious (meaning feeling luxurious, not necessarily being super expensive) way to serve a table, suggestions on vegan meals for the holiday, and vegan charcuterie options. So far, I have seen many wonderful pictures of your winter meals and charcuterie, and I would love to watch a video specifically dedicated to it! Sending lots of love
@DavidMustardFilm now that your flat is renovated, I’m missing the minimalist decor/architecture videos. Ca we get more of that, or maybe even visit artisans studios who create minimalist/modernist furniture/decor
Love your jewelry collection! I myself am a 90s baby obsessed with everything 1960s, but with a modern twist. You shouldn't look like you belong in a museum by totally emulating that time period, but I always put a little something in my outfits and jewelry that is inspired by that era. In my opinion it was just the best period (late 50s early 60s) for design, whether that's interior design or fashion, everything is just classy and playful. So I agree that if you view everything you'd like to buy through that lens of what you love, it becomes much more difficult to make a bad purchase.
Loved this video, with your very personal view of trends and a mix of ideas for furniture, interior design, fashion, vintage etc … And your style is so sophisticated and cool!
The only catch about investing in timeless trends is that your weight should stay the same over the years. A baby here and there, menopause changes here and there, gaining and keeping 5 to 10 pounds will make those timeless unwearable. It is of course possible and doable to return to the original weight, I have done it, but having timeless I love are an additional incentive for me.
Yess, let's bring back alterable clothing! I have some hand me down vintage ones that have been altered and re-altered, some for three generations now, so I know it's doable, and that makes me all the more frustrated on things that could be made that way but aren't.
Every winter I’m rushing myself to get the perfect holiday outfit but this year I was all “f that- I’m going basic” and started investing in good quality staple tshirts and bottoms that I can use multiple times rather than a “just for holidays” stuff
Was watching this while decluttering before a big move and YES back to basics! Finding the ol’reliables that are passed down or bought second hand is helpful. Also, I tbh love a cool wine bottle as a candle holder to get extra use out of it ❤ especially if the bottle has a beautiful print label
I'm on a decorating mode myself (creating a little home office/atelier) and oh boy, how I've fallen in love with mid-century modern Scandinavian glass and ceramics, especially candle holders (without even knowing it's a trend just now)!
I've never had my ears pierced, but recently tried on a pair of large, statement clip-ons and WOW I felt like a different person, like who IS she?? So thank you, Jenny, I'm encouraged to search out some vintage clip ons
I absolutely L❤VED my Docs! Bought them when I went backpacking through Europe in the 90’s. I missed my flight home to Canada just to buy them 🤣. Those things lasted about 12 years and went to hell and back with me. Sadly I had to let them go. Now I have a pair of Vagabond “Tara” chelsea boots. They are platform and I could TOTALLY see you in them! They are Super comfortable and now that I am older I appreciate just being able to pull on a pair of boots and not deal with laces. I love clomping around in them!
The doc oxfords aren't comfortable to me. They were also quite popular during the pandemic and alot of people got blisters and pain. Vegan leather doesnt strech as much as real leather so they won't get more comfortable with wear. You also need to keep in mind that the platform could get quite heavy and hurt your ankles, legs and knees when walking for a long time. I would recommend the Jadons more if you want a comfortable shoe with a bit more support for your leg to walk around with the platform.
I'm not a statement earring person, on the other hand, small simple stackable earrings in silver or gold are a must! But I have to agree with the boots, steel-toe combat boots are the ones I reach for the most, they're super versatile and comfy.
This fall for my birthday I bought a pretty wooden jewelry box that is about 1/3 the size of my former one. I kept some funky silly earrings in a separate spot in my home (especially if they were gifts or seasonal for 1 season only)...but for my day to day jewelry I've pared it down to the most beautiful, on trend essentials. I feel like it makes getting ready so much easier and I am receiving way more compliments as well. It was a great move!
Doc Martens forever. Been wearing them since 1996. I mean, Docs are varied in comfortability, so I don't know about the pair you are looking for. My earlobes are so small and I already have a scar from them ripping through my one lobe, so I just don't wear any earrings anymore. I definitely can't hold big earrings. If you have large lobes, they will cover them well though. I only use soy or beeswax candles because so many have paraffin which sets off toxins. I love love love candles though. When I did vintage blogging, the skinny belt went with everything for me, almost.
I have the all-black, vegan, platform DocMartens but the boots. I've had them for a few months and at the beginning they hurt like hell. in my opinion, they are worth the pain. I also wore them at home with comfy socks before going outside in them. so once I was out and about, they haven't hurt that much anymore. now they are the most comfortable and stylish shoes/boots I own. 🙂
I also love and collect vintage jewelry. While not a minimalist, it’s one of those accessories that pretty much guarantees you’re not going to see it on anyone else.😅
The vintage Lanvin is spectacular on you, with your style. Wow. But good luck finding a mid-century modern teak desk for cheap! In Australia these go for thousands each. Maybe different in Europe.
Love those kind of video making us think before buying and even stop us from buying and shop our own wardrobe 😊 I only have one thing to buy this winter and it’s a green linen dress from a sustainable brand “ son de flor” been buying so much dresses from them and I’ve been missing a lovely green dress . The one I chose I can wear all year round since it’s linen and a kind of a darker green leaf but not dark green, a good in between. I don’t like skinny belt on me but I do have a big chunky black one with an antique simple silver buckle and it is a vintage Saint Laurent I was gift when I worked there 🤭
You are such a huge inspiration for fashion and sustainability!! 😍 I can answer your question on the Doc Marten Platforms. I was gifted 8053 platform boots. These shoes are absolutely gorgeous, however I was upset by how heavy they were and that they weren’t vegan. I hope if you get the vegan platforms, they aren’t as stiff and heavy as the ones I have :/ I really wanted to love them! I agree with you- these big chunky shoes can never go out of style
I so love to listen to you, the way how you speak and pronounce, I am learning English so you are helping me. I know Scandinavians learn English from young age, but can you share any advice how to become so fluent and improve vocabulary
I'm not really into trends. When I shop, I ask myself, "If I would time travel back 10, 20, 30 years, would I fit in? If I yes, then it's probable it will look good in the next 5, 10 years, etc. I ask myself this about other things too, like furniture purchases. Also, I don't wear a lot of jewelry but when I do, I wear the 'Kalevala Koru' vintage jewelry that I received from my grandmother as well as inherited from my mother. It's a company that has been around since 1935 and the original designs were based on ancient models from the Finnish Museum. So not really in, not really out, but always acceptable. I also inherited my mom's iittala candle holders. I think of her every time I see them.
Regarding the platform boots: I got the high Top platform ones and unfortunately they are that heavy that I cant wear them for More than a 20-30 minutes walk 😢 its such a Shame

OH MY GOD YES!
stop wasting money on yourself and start spending it on me.

How do you curate your amazing jewelry collection? I’d love to know what criteria you use. Love this video!
Thank you for the anti haul, minimalist message. I appreciate your commitment to sustainability and quality over quantity.

You have impeccable taste. You really mastered refined minimism.

this woman calms my nerves as soon as I click on the video...
I lOVE these anti-trend videos. Such a breath of fresh air.
Always more anti-cosumerism videos! Myself, I'm investing in a high quality classic coat this year that will last me years 😊

Adore your Swedish accent...it's like a sweet melody. Your style is revolutionary and so unique. Love it. 🤎🤎🤎
Love your anti-haul/trends :)

Vad jag väntat på lite mode-innehåll från dig. Du är så inspirerande. Tack!
Couple of great vegan shoe options - Altercore and Beflamboyant. Both really comfortable an good quality.
I am renovating my 1953 house and all my furniture is Scandinavian and 90% is 1950 vintage ❤ love the quality
GREAT Video!!
I love every video of yours! Cool, calm, collected!
This channel is always relevant
I had the purple docs in high school over 30 years ago :) great video, you are very well spoken.
Thanks Jenny Mustard!
charming and current TYVM

As an older woman, I have some advice. Enjoy your large earrings but make sure they aren’t heavy…caused enlarged lobes later on. Not fun!!!

I find Will’s Vegan Shoes much more comfortable than DMs.

Thank you for another amazing video! ❤ May I ask where are your dining chairs from? The ones with a slit at the back
I’m rapidly becoming more of a minimalist, and shopping with intention definitely cuts down on impulse buys
Is that costume jewelry or solid gold? If it’s costume, how do you keep it from tarnishing?
I don't think doc martins are that good quality now... I love my solovair boots! (Made in the UK)
Can you please tell what brand is your jumper?
Solivar are higher quality than DM. There has been a noticeable drop in quality over the last decade I have been wearing them and I kind of hate it.
Regarding the platform boots: I got the high Top platform ones and unfortunately they are that heavy that I cant wear them for More than a 20-30 minutes walk 😢 its such a Shame
totally off topic but have you guys ever thought about getting a rabbit as a pet? since they’re naturally vegan?
Belts are one of the easiest items to thrift. The choice is endless and they are so cheap!
I would be interesting to see you and David go vintage shopping. You don't have to buy anything. Just for inspiration.
Hello
❤😊❤😊❤
No to pants with skirts
@jennymustard Why is a beige skirt dangerous? Even the transcript is unintelligible right there.
for clumsy eaters (spilling a bit of food and getting stains)
🔝🔝🔝🔝🔝🔝🔝🔝🔝🔝
Thankyou for showing your gorgeous choker.
tell me you're a Taurus without telling me you're a Taurus ;)
