I just bought this mother board and am using Ryzen 7 5700. For some reason my all of usb ports failed. They worked at first. Do you think it’s a bios issue?

Loves me a good old BIOS tour and I have to say this ASUS one doesnt look half bad. Im a total MSI BIOS fanboi but this one looks to be fairly functional and its a load better than the old style ones we used to get back in the day. Thanks Mike and Kath 🙂

Quick question, my bios is out of date by a year, do I have to install each update individually, or can I go straight to the latest version? I didn't upgrade each stage before on an earlier motherboard and the result wasn't good. This time I'm asking first, sort of like measure twice, cut once..
Love the part after it was flashed LOL, we've all been there. Came here just to make sure wasn't anything odd with the process, have the Prime B550M-A in the wife's machine with a R5 3600, the bios has never been flashed. I just bought a 5700X to put in it and will have to do this. I'm a CompTIA certified tech but it is the wife's machine so there's no room for error :)

hi love your videos and i was just wondering i have a prebuild pc that has this mobo and i have a ryzen 5 5600x that came with my build and down the line i'm thinking in upgrading it to a ryzen 5800x3d and with a rtx 4070. Do I need to update the bios? cause the bio number i have on it is a 3205 and when i went to the website it showed a another bio whic a 3404. Do need to update to that to be able to use my ryzen 7 5800x3d or can i plug and play without downloading the new bios? also ive only own this prebuild pc for like 3 months now.
I maybe found out another problem with a Prime B550 Plus and Ryzen 3 2200g for the fault "selected file is not a proper bios". I cannot update further than 3002. My guess is that the processor is no longer supported?? I want to install the a Ryzen 7 5700x3D on the board (manufactured 2023). Now i wait for an answer from the ASUS support. Edit: The Ryzen 7 5700x3D is supported from version 2803 but it is not working with 3002, so there is another problem.

press del to enter the bios, bios updates should only really be done to add new processor compatibility or bug fixes, but check the websites every 3 months or so
I sent back assus b550-plus motherboard received replacenment motherboard yesterday everything is installed i do not have video card or hard drive for it at this time and when i turn it on have no single to the tv hdmi 1 all the computer parts brand new checked it pc build says it compatabile does not come with heat sink so i had order an amd heat sink with fan no single to tv have no idea what the issue is thank you for help

i like to use 3600mhz really it is the best value for money and the ideal level for ryzen 3000 or 5000 series chips, i use v-color, kimtigo and thermaltake generally, but usually what ever is the best value at the time of purchase

Mike, did you ever find out if the AGESA 1207 equiped BIOS files that fix USB and fTPM issues tend to retain support for Zen+/Pinnacle Ridge CPUs? I'd like to try latest BIOS but not 100% sure if it drops 2XXX series CPU support. Did you ever put AGESA 1207 on any of your B450 boards and have that board still able to utilize a Zen+ CPU? Would like to try 7B85v1G for my board, but that would suck if it didn't boot because the CPU was no longer supported.

@@mikesunboxing Yes i have connected, but my configuration inside the BIOS don't show the Option from AMD PBS just Show AMD CBS and inside of there is not a option for activated it . Maybe the command msinfo32 show a Prime b550-plus but i think have a different BIOS(i was making with the lastes Bios update but still with this option CBS instead of PBS ) my question is maybe this motherboard's Bios is compatible with another mother ? when Yes, maybe may i with other bios with the same compatibility trying? . I'm already regretting my decision to use this motherboard for a PC build. Does not recognise the RAM, but should be compatible. Tried everything, seems that bios needs to be updated. Obviously can't update the BIOS because it won't post. Because it isn't recognising the RAM.

no there isn't sorry. unless you maybe add some USB ports via PCIe but that is unlikely to work as the bios flashback requires a specific port.
If my board has the sticker that says 5000 series desktop ready, would I need to update the BIOs? I will have the AMD 5 5600 cpu with this mobo

it would be a good idea to update the BIOS anyway for security patches

You will need a new disk drive and reset the motherboard ftpm keys

unless the processor is a G series model you won't get any display without a graphics card

ez flash will only see fat32 formatted usb drives with a bios on it

that is fine you can roll back or forward if needed
My screen didnt turn back on after the led firmware update. What should i do?
turn it all off and leave it off for 30 minutes or so and let the capacitors drain fully and it should work, failing that run the bios update again

the asrock b450 pro4 has the latest bios on it with a 2600 and seems okay

yes you need to use an older processor to update the bios, a cheap used athlon should do it
