- In this video we cover how to download device configurations from the online database -- Called ONLINE SNIPPETS.
All you need is the first 4-5 mins to get the concept of how the online snippets work and where this is useful vs trying to download an entire "PROFILE"...
The rest of the video is a walk through of the Panel and how we configured it and why. We are using the Working Title 12.6 in SU5 Hotfix 2 as the example. We also cover how to use the acceleration in the encoder with the Multi Panel device as well.
I've made a few spad profiles and snippets and never thought of the acceleration mode. Thank you for enlightening me.

Hi les. I have some time on my hand and I have bought SPAD.next I’m currently configuring it and I’m starting with my LOGITECH RADIO Panel. For the CRJ and the PMDG 737. I can’t seem to find your profile for this. Any help would be appreciated. Also, can you point me to your forum if you have one. I I’m going back through your videos once again. This time with SoftWare bought actually configuring my alpha bravo and my radio panel.

Is it possible to turn off the multipanel display when the avionics master switch is off?
Only the really old ones would turn off the backlight. All newer units seem to be hard coded to stay on…. Just like the words - ALT/VS HDG IAS etc are all hard coded in the firmware.
Is it possible to change the mode's label on the screen? like HDG, IAS etc.
No those are hard coded in the Logitech firmware. Only numbers can be updated on the screen.
@@LesOReilly ok, could it be programmed so that you can change values without virtual power. Also another question that came to my mind is are you able to change the brightness
you can disable the need for Virtual Power all together .. look in the spad settings tab for that. No ther is no brightness with this device.
GREAT videos can you help i have set everything up with the autopilot heading and it works fine but the digits in the cockpit dont match that on the saitek panel thanks
Then you are not assigned the correct variable.. join the spad discord. So you can share information and screen shots. RUclips comments is not a good place to do support.
When Ulrich adds the Virpil devices , will you do videos on those as well? (CM2 Throttle, CP1 & CP2)?
I don't own any Virpil Devices ... So I am not sure I will be able to... Sorry..

Yes in the exact same way that the other examples were used.. As long as you are using the Data Variable change instead of the Sim Event to change the value then you can use the acceleration with it.
Sorry this does my head in... I'm trying to get a handle on understanding how to set it up. It is very user unfriendly..

How come the button change light it says autopilot on/off on ur end . How come I don’t have that? Hey bud maybe u should a new video with the recent features for spad and not videos that r 1- 2 years old. My spad menus looks different from urs
Hey bud.. use the discord. You have a different product. They look different in the UI. This is not rocket science and has nothing to do with the video

Thanks for these valuable tutorials Spad Next, one concept is not clear to me, (my english is poor).
If, for example, I buy the Multi Panel or something else and I connect it normally as if it were any peripheral, FS2020 is able to connect to the panel and function regularly, as is done for a normal JoyStick, where the functions can be checked and possibly configured directly from FS2020.?

Sorry I don’t understand what your asking. Spad is an interface that runs alongside the sim. Configuration is done in Spad not MSFS and it send events from spad into MSFS ….
@@LesOReilly Yes of course Spad Next configures the Multi Panel and communicates with FS2020, therefore without Spad the Multi Panel is just "a piece of iron" and FS2020 does not recognize it.?
@@rossirossi9778 pretty sure the Logitech software will work with basic aircraft and some that have implemented default bindings. However advanced planes or functions may be limited.
Thanks Les, that was really helpful. I hadn't discovered the 'acceleration' function. I'm a bit in the dark about the difference between 'Shortmode activated' and 'Pressed (short)' and which to use when setting a button ?
Use pressed short for a press and long for holding the button longer than 1 Sec. ignore the “activated” versions as they will disappear in the future. It’s linked to a way to send the emulate command.

One issue I've found is that the HDG light starts flashing when heading is synched with current, with and without AP turned on.
Another issue is with Flligh Director. It turns off but immediatelly turns on again. Apparently that should something related with WT Mod as also happens with the cockpit controls...
Did that happen to you too?
You have to edit the settings of the MP ... In the UI -- on the right of the MP ... Device Settings -- Global Settings -- Light equals Button Mode... turn that off..

great show thanks ! I´m still struggling with the HDG inc/dec as it always starts from the current heading not the already set heading : )
I could correct that by setting AUTOPILOT HEADING LOCK DIR:1 instead of AUTOPILOT HEADING LOCK DIR
And if someóne managed to set the map zoom to a key or a knob please advice, this is so tricky to rotate with the mouse in the CV4
The Variables are H:Generic_Upr_RANGE_INC (Map Zoom)
H:Generic_Upr_RANGE_DEC (Map Zoom)
Correct the autopilot heading needs to be the Slot 1 index not the regular index since WT uses that under the hood to drive the auto pilot.
Second if you know what events you want to assign for the zoom just assign them. Those will work.
@@LesOReilly I don`t know the events, IK couldn´t capture the events in SPADnext : ( nothing happens when turning the knob.
I am not understanding you. You list the events that are needed. Those are in the list of H events that you can send. You won’t see them in the data monitor or event monitor because they are the h event type.
@@LesOReilly how can I use them? Do you know how to set that events to a button and zoom the map ?
The same way you set any of the other events. Just like how you set the H events to the buttons in this video for the autopilot.

How is it confusing?? Did you watch the video to make sure to remove the Logitech plug-in first? Did you actually watch the video or did you just skim through it trying to do thing?
Have you watched the first 4 or 5 videos of the new user series to understand the basics of Spad??
In the spad UI - Home tab - video guide sub tab - new user - that has them organized to easily step through

I did uninstall the Logitech driver but havent watched enough videos I guess. not your fault, Im just frustrated with trying to get my Multipanel to work in a basic way. I Can't get it to keep selected altitude or VS once I move between dial settings ie from IAS to ALT and so forth.
