Saw him, in concert, in the, early, 90's, what a privilege.
Travelled, to Sydney, for that one, paid, for the ticket, makes it, evenmore special.

I LOVE this song. I'd never heard of John Hiatt until he came out with this album back in 1988 (was it?), and this song was played. I immediately knew I had to get the album, and it was one of my favorite at that time in my life. Brings back some good, and some painful, memories. Great song.

This is a very easy song to play. Hiatt shows that less is more and that a good song doesn't need a lot for people to appreciate it. I saw John at a 500 person venue in 1987. He played for 2 1/2 hours. There was a lot of great energy that night. Sonny played slide and the band rocked the house. Good memories.

I listen to very heavy music, but I have always loved John Hiatt. His lyrics are classic. Excellent song writer. Slow Turning has been a favorite of mine for at least 15 years.

Sure, I was well on my way to repentance in 1988, but this song was a baptism for me, a cleansing of my soul from the pollution of over-sampled, banal, formula-driven tripe that Hollywood, Nashville and New York called "music."
The juvenile musical me was transformed even as the year, the worst and best of my life up to the point, was drastically changing, a time of great upheaval. Thank you, John Hiatt, for being there. And here you will ever be.

Think it was about 22 years ago, first time I heard this song him. Both have weathered the storm well. Thanks John.
