"Eddie was a guitar wonder, his playing pure wizardry. To the world of music, he was a special gift. When Jimi Hendrix came along it was like, ‘Where did this guy come from?’, and I think that was the same feeling with Eddie. When Eddie appeared on the scene, every guitarist I ran into said, ‘You’ve gotta hear this guy" - ANGUS YOUNG
I was at this show in Connecticut. Seen Van Halen 3 times on this tour in San Diego, Los Angeles and Connecticut. Ha. First time was US Festival in San Bernardino California 1983. Diver Down tour. Overall 15 times.
KUDOS to you for doing a reaction video where the video of YOU was small and the music video was the rest of the screen. This is the right way to do a reaction video for sure - thank you!
On the Sunset Sound Recording channel, they have a video where you can hear two different mic tracks for the recording of Eruption. It's phenomenal. I bought this concert on VHS live w o a Net in 1986.. I was so happy.. Rip EVH. 💕
I hadn't thought of what you said. I think you're absolutely right. There has to be loads of recordings of Eddie that we have never heard. I am still mourning him. I hope I can meet him in the afterlife and tell him how much I admire his talent. RIP!! 🙏
Hopefully Wolfie gets together with an engineer and goes through the archives whenever he's ready to do so. Eddie was always recording so there's tons of unreleased material.
Sammy said that Van Halen was in the works for doing a Monsters of Rock repeat concert in Spokane, WA at Joe Albi stadium, as there are plans to have it torn down this year. The concert was supposed to be held last August in 2020, with the original 80's line up of Kingdom Come, Metallica, Dokken, Scorpions and Van Halen headlining. This was supposed to be a send off concert for Albi Stadium, where the Monsters of Rock show took place on July 20th, 1988, (I was at that show) but due to Covid and Eddie's health, it never came to fruition. RIP Eddie.
I've been a fan of Eddie's since day one because I have been at the concerts I'm 54 years old today! What makes him amazing is he has mastered feed back and that's rare. A replica like Eddie has start at 25 thousand dollars! He named his guitar FRANKINSTRAT 🎸aka Fender Stratocaster! Eddie took the neck of a guitar that was tossed aside for the fact it was defected and pieced it with the bottom half of another guitar hince FRANKINSTRAT!; Eddie Van Halen is second to none just like Steve Perry from journey his voice is second to none! Like Eddie mastered feed back Steve Perry has mastered a raspy voice listen to his latest songs called ""IN THE RAIN!!!! ""I NEED YOU!!!! ""YOU BELONG TO ME!!!! These songs are bone chilling because you can feel Steve's pain while singing those songs i listed. PS, Steve Perry made these songs because a woman who he was in love with passed away from breast cancer in the early 2000s they had only been together for less than two years 💔 she had Steve make her a promise that he wouldn't go back into isolation and to start singing again for his fans because he had no desire to ever sing again being he hasn't for many years. Steve said it himself that's why he left Journey he said that he was burnt out being on the road and couldn't have a steady relationship. That's what most of Journey songs are about being on the road and having a family. The song Faithfully is a perfect example how Steve Perry felt and most of the band members.
Edward's final years were probably full of suffering due to his illness. I'm glad he's at peace now and died with his life back on track and his family around him. He deserves all the accolades and his music will live on forever.

I like yours. You put it up on the whole screen. You can see the sweat dripping off. This was normal to us. By this time, 86, He had perfected his solos. He was the best.
Different styles of music. Angus is a legend and I'm a complete VH fan. Edward was playing AC/DC cover songs back when Mammoth and VH was a bar band. Edward loved AC/DC and his son Wolfgang talks about how his father introduced him to AC/DC when he was young and their love for the band together.
@@swordmonkey6635 Yeah but Angus also holds Eddie in higher regard in music contribution than himself , after their first tour Angus said he was like any other Guitarist rock and roll has seen.

You said it in a word, WOW! Thanks!
His pipe organ is unsurpassed. Doin' it with volume knob. Most could not do it with a volume pedal that good. Cathedral is the name of that song.
