The '89 Niners just flatout DOMINATED that season. 14-2 record, best in the NFL. No other team won more than 12 games. Pummeled the Vikings & Rams in the playoffs, & just dismantled the Broncos in Super Bowl XXIV. Total dominance, that is all.
The Broncos were the only team in the AFC that year to go double-digit in the win column. It was also the second straight year the AFC Central put 3 teams in the playoffs. Not a likely scenario when you only had 4 teams in it at the time.
Biggest blowout in Super Bowl history. The only other game that was this bad of a whooping was 1985 Bears beating the Pats 46-10 in the Super Bowl. Even more weird is that the 85 Bears ran a 46 defense and scored 46 points in the Super Bowl.

As a 12 year old Rams fan I remember feeling confident going into the NFC title game. They had already beaten the Niners in San Fran, and in the second game in Anaheim they had a 17 point lead in the 2nd half until John Taylor took over on MNF. I guess that conference championship game showed they just simply weren’t in the same class.
I think I am the only one who likes the actual Broncos helmet more than the throwback, I also prefered the navy blue jerseys at home instead of the orange they wear now.
