I don’t think we should mandate those airbag vests. Let’s not get more government mandates for motorcycling. Educate and provide choices….
Airbags for cars are the standard and have been for decades now and it has saved millions of lives, why not for bikers? How will it be bad making it a law to wear airbag technology for bikers? It will only save lives. We have to protect the morons from themselves. When a rider gets paralyzed or killed the motorcycle gets the blame and not the rider. Sometimes you need laws to be made to help people. Wearing a seatbelt in a car is the law and thank God it is.

That's the problem with the states. We are so opinionated in what everyone else should be doing. I intentionally watched the entire video before I would read the comments. Regardless I agree with some things, not with others. Your video is much too informational to grab one talking point. Just like you pointed out the many dangers of life having nothing to do with motorcycles. Just our basic every day "Heath and lifestyle" are killing and injuring the human species far more than "Motorcycle" related deaths and injuries. Should we imply the same restrictions and requirements for "All" potentially dangerous and deadly choices available to us in its totality? Of course not, so let's stop mandating our recreational lifestyles and start making better choices in our day to day, which potentially puts more of our species in danger. At some point we must restore the balance and return FACTs of any kind. Over feelings of the "Majority"... I used to be a knuckle head out there on 2's until my luck finally caught up to me. That's how I found this channel, while lying in a contraption akin to rotisserie. While the surgeons screwed, bolted, broken and stapled my pieces as best they could back then. I just want you @CC to know it didn't matter what mandates, rules, laws or wisdom gems you drop in every video, or whether I agreed or disagreed. I wasn't going to change what I do because of what you believed in. Until that wreck I lived my life exactly how I wanted to, fully aware of right and wrong I habitually made poor choices because life up until then was a blast!!! My point is I needed to experience what I experienced to be able to apply your beliefs and opinions against my own. Knowing full well had I of chose to buy the vest, the 1st video you put out. Rather than laugh at you for wasting so much time and money on "what if". I would be writing to you thanking you for the advice that I heard for the 1st time long ago on your channel. However I am writing to you to inform you that in fact I chose not to listen to reason. I am messed up real bad but I am so thankful for your channel style and talking points. I believe 100% your channel has given far more smarter viewers than me the opportunity and ability to thank you before the accident or fatality that never happened to them. Doing this my way sucks... Love ya channel and I hope everyone understands the comment section flows way better with people helping people, not feeding their egos to a room full of strangers...

You have to protect the morons from themselves. When bikers get killed the motorcycle gets the blame and not the rider. Normally I'm not for new laws but some laws have to be put in place to help people from themselves.

5:44 I disagree. You cant legislate stupidity away. Helmets and full gear should be strongly encouraged, but not mandatory.
So what bad will happen if it was a law to wear motorcycle gear? What is the downside? Tickets? That is the least of our worries. As a kid, I saw the aftermath of my late brother's friend motorcycle crash into a tree without a helmet. That image is embedded into my brain for life. I've never seen so much blood in my life and a gruesome scene. It is a miracle he survived that accident but ended up with some issues for the rest of his life. I'm not normally for new laws but when it comes to rider safety I'm all for it.

The downside is fewer riders over time and a eventual extinction of the sport if you price it out

Motorcycles are not dangerous.. the rider is dangerous.. everything you said is true.. and in Europe they also teach car drivers to always look out for Motorcycles
Exactly! I love how Europe prepares its bikers and educates car drivers to watch out for bikers. I wish they would do that here in the U.S. This must be the rare country where someone can go to the BMV and take a written test, get a motorcycle temp license and go out and buy a Kawasaki H2 as a first bike without zero riding experience. 🤣 The U.S. does not care about its bikers. Europe does.
Safety, like Control, is an illusion. Still knowing how to ride, and riding defensively, goes a long way. When I was in the Military we were required to take the MSF course every time we went to a new duty station. I'm probably still alive because of it. Cause it only takes a momentary lapse in judgement to have an Accident, and Accidents can REALLY Hurt! I know from experience.
I'll never forget that video of you in the cemetery talking about how your motorcyclist brother died in his sleep and not while riding. I have a few family members a few generations back that may have died from an amnerism. I hope your eye problem isn't linked to the same thing.
Interesting discussion of what should be laws and what shouldn't. It is a slippery slope that some companies can abuse just to mandate people buy their products, making motorcycling more expensive with required products, or fines for not buying and using it. The stock exhausts and performance restrictions that we have to spend to bypass is already annoying enough.
Youre speaking the truth about not needing a 200+ HP superbike for the streets, as i get older i start to realize that especially after owning them you will never be able to use the full potential of one of those bikes on the street without risking being killed or get your license taken away, way more fun to cruise and hoon around. I dont regret for one second getting my mt10 defintely my favorite bike ive owned thus far

I think that some things that should be mandatory would be high viz, and a go pro or something to record your speed. My boi was on his R6 and some clown pulled in front of him, totaled the bike and he was being accused of speeding till he pulled out the video of him doing the speed limit
A lil bit of 2 wheel therapy is always a good fix for a day going bad or if you're in a down mood. Plus there's nothing like a in-line 4 revving passed 10k or that instant torque from a CP2 or CP3. I'd always choose 2 wheels over 4 wheels.

Shit man, people in cars don’t even see other cars! I almost got in a car accident yesterday cause dude literally just pulled out in front of me when I was doing 50mph. I had to fly into the other lane split second and luckily no one was there! Streets are dangerous no matter what, stay safe yall and pay attention when you’re riding in those inner cities!
It depends on where you live too, Florida and GA. had the worst drivers and traffic. Here in Ohio the drivers are pretty good, one of the many reasons I moved back. You are right though, the drivers are worst in the inner cities. The East side of Cleveland hoods has the worst drivers.
Now experience that in an 18 wheeler.
SF Bay Area drivers are pretty bad and everyone drives pretty fast on the highways. What's crazy in San Jose, is the number of people who simply speed through red lights and stop signs. Even when driving a car and I have the green light, I check left and right to see if someone might be about the blow a red light and t-bone me! A lot of criminals in the stolen cars do this. Recently, a young woman and her unborn child were killed by a red light runner in a stolen car, right at an intersection I frequent regularly. :(
man been watching you for a long time man and it always inspires me when i see you still getting out there having a blast, i will never stop riding but for me the past few years i find it hard to get motivated to get out there and ride, i still will usually ride atleast once per month but man used to i would wake up early and go ride before work haha good times.

In Australia I've been called a temporary Australian because I ride a motor bike, so I have to remind them that everybody is temporary on this earth and people do get killed in car accidents, and some people survive the accident but get burnt to death because they are trapped. How often would this happen on a motor bike? 71 years old and still riding. I have just bought super motard wheels and Shinko tyres for my WR450F, and going by your videos and other videos they sound really great tyres so thanks for your advice and videos.

B/c dealing with the DMV isn't frustrating enough as it is. In my state, many of the changes they made during the covid years (limiting access to them to get things like a new plate done) have not been changed back to before the covid years. Currently, you have to make an appointment to get certain things done (like a new plate for ur motorcycle/car. Or converting ur DL to a "Real ID" DL).

You are 100% correct my friend. When government takes away your freedom, it's like a one way ratchet...you will probably lose that freedom forever. For example, all that TSA nonsense at airports that require taking off shoes, belts, and being subjected to pat downs and no relatives allowed to see you off at the gate. They sell the continuation of restrictions and huge expense to taxpayers as "necessary to prevent terrorism", but in fact they are using fear to justify their jobs.

Riding isn’t for everyone and that’s fine they don’t have to like it . The moment it stops being fun then why do it? I’ve had some minor spills and one bad burn from riding but the awakening experience there is when learning to ride is a unique experience there really isn’t anything else like it.

The EU license system would be restrictive to sales and manufacturing though. If it weren't for the freedom of the US we wouldn't have those powerful hooligan bikes and sounds we love. Maybe if we had a license system for those with driving crimes or criminal records it'd be a good idea. I'm all for the safety but not the restrictions towards everyone.
@CycleCruza Buy some blue light blocking glasses for when you're looking at screens. Takes a big load off your eyes. I tried them, got used to them, can't go back now.

With a bike, I gotta spend an extra 15 minutes getting all my gear on and getting the bike out of the shed, which is kept locked, and I keep it chained in said shed for extra security, and closing shed back up again, and getting my cardo turned on and phone set up. It's nitpicky, but, man, it takes more time than I ever thought.

I never agree with “mandatory”. Where is the freedom in that. If you want to ride with no gear that’s your choice. I ride with full gear but wouldn’t appreciate a mandatory anything here in America.
What's the downside, tickets? That is the least of our concern. When a rider get killed or messed up because of not wearing gear the motorcycle gets the blame and not the rider.

Speed is demonized like a scapegoat. It should be riding within one's ability. People's ability is a variable. Speed is only "a factor." Paying attention goes a long way and learning where to speed and how to slow down when necessary.

Things NOT to do when riding a motorcycle:
Don't go fast when you can see what is ahead of you (such as blind turns)
Don't forget to turn off your turn signal after completing the turn. This one I have seen many bikers leaving their indicators on and going straight, you are telling other drivers that you are turning, so when they cut you off, you blame them when in reality it was your stupid ass who is at fault!
Don't try to keep up with other riders when they are acting like fools, let them crash and burn while you get to live another day.
Ride your own ride, don't get a motorcycle believing you will attract women, they could care less also your friends won't care either unless they ride themselves.
Wear the gear, I have seen people falling at 25mph and they skinned their elbows to the bone on a 12 ft slide. That slide would be much longer at 75mph.
Take the riding course appropriate for your type of bike at minimum every 3 years, more if you spend a long time NOT riding.
Only thing I'm scared of at the moment is my phone falling off riding my motorcycle since I have not tested my phone holder yet or my motorcycle getting stolen. Ebikes you can make them safer by removing pedal assist sensor and just throttle and pedal or going to settings in monitor and put zero for pedal assist. There has been many incidents of accidently tapping the crankset and the ebike taking off on it's own because of pedal assist catching people off guard.
Just keep it in your pocket if possible. I don't trust phone holders especially with newer phones and their sensitive cameras.
@@EEEBA1 Indeed! I heard about phone camera stabilization degrading when using phone holders on bikes because of all the vibration messing up the internal components. I can confirm this. The camera stabilization isn't the same after using my smartphone on phone holder. Takes longer to concentrate.

I've never seen anything in those woods, not even an ant when I pulled up rotted logs to make trails. I was expecting snakes and critters but saw nothing at all. That was very weird, dead woods. I had strange neighbor and I told him I never saw anything in those woods, he said yeah but they see you. lol My mom came and visited me once and was freaked out by the ghosts in the house when she heard strange voices. That was a fun experience tho. However, I appreciate the suburbs more now. lol

Like I said in the video, we need laws to protect the morons from themselves. lol My friend's step dad was a Harley squid and crashed and ended up in a nursing home for life at a young age with severe brain damage from not wearing a helmet. He died in that nursing home. Too bad there wasn't a law to wear a helmet in his state it might have prevented his brain damage and poor quality of life.

I could easily state 100 cases where I've cheaped out to stay on budget, even if it did not provide the ultimate form of protection. Here are just a few examples Rick;
I stretched out my helmet to last me over 10 years, and just bought a $400 modular helmet (Shark Evo One 2). Would your non-modular carbon fiber helmet do better in a crash? Probably, but not in my budget.
I'm skipping the airbag vest and going with spine and chest armor upgrades for my riding jacket instead. $125 vs $800. My Life and my budget, my choice. If the commies running the USA now mandate an airbag vest, I'll make a fake one.
I live out in the sticks and wanted a premium quality 'battle rifle' to protect my home (after we had an attempted 3am home invasion event). Those rifles are $4K or more. Instead I got a PSA 'generic' battle rifle for $700, 4 cases of ammo, and a 2 day defensive rifle combat course...all for way less than the Gucci gun guaranteed to survive anything.
The airbag won't work on my work van because of a broken part in the steering column. The part is no longer available, even at every wrecking yard in the entire USA (those with online listings). Rather than upgrade to a 'new' used van at a cost of $20-30K, I drive without an airbag. This way I can afford other nice things like a motorcycle, and a few other treats in Life.
Please don't become a gear or even a brand elitist Rick. Many of your subscribers are like myself, with champaign and caviar wishes and a beer and beef sticks budget.
