      I lost my son, removed from my life, in spite of doing everything right.
      Riding a motorcycle
      Is my only escape from those emotions.
      I'm hoping to get a few acres around Silverton,
      So I can foster a motorcycle waypoint for the riders in the area.

      That's awesome to hear Kyle! It's always nice to just jump on the motorcycle and go get lost and away, it's great therapy. I wish you the best of luck! Wear all the gear, ride defensively and stay safe!

    • @MrEiniweini
      @MrEiniweini 3 года назад +2

      Perhaps different, and I don't have depression. I just find if you are riding it is like your awareness goes up to a place where there is little time to think of anything else. What is that merging car going to do. That guy in front is erratic on the road so if I pass I want to clear it by 100 yards, That person has a Learner plate so don't spook them. I don't know this corner and there are potholes. All of these things are taking up so much space in my head that even trying to think about money issues or an argument before you got on the bike becomes impossible.

      Riding absolutely changed my life for the same reason. It isn't a cure, but one thing that it does very, very well is get rid of the 'noise' and let me just enjoy being in the present moment without distractions. My therapist fully supports my motorcycle which makes me want to take it as a medical expense. :D

      @@ascerta During the beginning of Covid, I was deployed traveling to Germany and the Middle East. A lot of people in the U.S. still thinks that is all a lie, and that Covid is being used to instill fear. I am pretty sure that if that was the case, other countries (in my case Germany, Baharain, Dubai, Italy), will not just play along with the U.S., but in those countries that I traveled to they had very strict protocols everywhere. On top of that, I personally know people who had it or had family who had it. I took the vaccine when it became available to us in January, I had no side effects other than a very mild pain in the shot site that lasted for 15 min,. It has been 8 months and so far still fine. Now the Pfizer vaccine has been FDA approved (which means it has been deemed totally safe). You are within your right to choose not to vaccinate, but make your choice based on facts and not on propaganda. Check all the information you get for accuracy whenever possible.

    • @ascerta
      @ascerta 3 года назад +4

      @@lucyferina People who took the jab spread as much as people who haven't, plus they have become the source of developing new variants. You don't vaccinate during a pandemic because of this.
      Look at Israel. Look at France, where I live, they are officially saying the effectiveness of the vaccine decreases after a few months and you have to get your 3rd jab already by September.
      The hospitals are so busy they're posting everyday TikTok videos and stats showing how much cases and deaths are plummeting right now. They are so overwhelmed they are threatening to fire the only personal left, if they don't get vaccinated (last year, everyone were clapping at them).
      As far as I know, the vaccine, which is not a vaccine but a genetical therapy using ARNm, is likely to attack your immune system overtime, we have absolutely no background on it, it is experimental, and many people have developed symptoms such as strokes and died from it.
      Last but not least, you're free to believe in this pandemic or not, I personally don't. 99,8% survival rate. However, I firmly believe that no one has to share their medical status to anyone, especially to their employers, nor should they give in to any MEDICAL ACT without consent and being clearly explained what are the benefits and risks involved, or under pressure and threat of being lay off from your work.
      Where I live, you can't access anylonger shopping malls, trains, hospitals, bars, restaurants, cinemas, club and sport activities, universities.
      In what world would you agree to submit to this bullshit?

Don’t underestimate the power of exercise and better mental health. Motorcycles are great and fun, but bicycles have and added benefit hard to get with any other transportation. I set destinations in mind when I ride and explore different places at a slower pace. I’m probably the most happy when pedaling. Make no mistake, it’s hard work, but worth it.

    These are definitely trying times right now. I miss attending baseball games and although I can attend them, but like you, I take things seriously too and I’m not going to take that chance and have a real effed up day, week or life. It’s tiring and depressing with what’s going out there but I have hope that things will get better soon. I definitely do know what you mean about material things. Having choices is important to one’s quality of life. Feeling trapped (job you hate, no reliable transportation, no significant other, etc…) is not good. Doing something positive is the best therapy. Go back to school, find a church that suits your idea of God, find a job you like, etc…. I went through a bad time in the mid 1980s. I made some important decisions that improved my life. I said goodbye to people that were not good for me, I found a better job, etc… Sometimes one needs to walk away from the past in order to secure their future.

    I’m in the same situation as you. I also live a debt and mortgage free life and pay for everything in cash; Me and my wife have pretty much everything. We hate debt with a passion. The only thing missing in my life right now is a motorcycle and my wife will not let me buy one. Don’t get me wrong she’s the best thing that ever happened to me and in terms of vehicles, she lets me buy anything from electric cars, SUVs, to many turbo charged sports cars over the last 15 years but she wont let me get a motorcycle. We do live in the biggest most populated city in Canada. Traffic here is insane and littered with many crazy drivers so maybe she does have a point. For now I can only live the motorcycle life by watching videos like the ones you make. Keep up the great work and stay healthy!

Thanks God we recover but all this make me think the stupid live we live, taking for granted all the blessing we have around us. It was around that time that I found your blog and let me tell you CC, your enthusiasm, energy and passion for your motorcycle make me take the decision to get a bike after many years and try to take advantage of every moment. A man needs a project, something with a goal. Hobbies don’t do it. It might be another build, meeting a standard on a track day, etc. For example, fishing is a hobby. Catching every main game fish is a project. Riding a motorcycle is a hobby. Building a motorcycle is a project.

    Lately I've been feeling the same. I moved to China a week after turning 21 in 2017 and have basically not ridden a bike since then. So, for the last 4 years, it's been tough as hell and getting a bike in China as an expat is especially hard as well. Luckily I have an understanding wife that can understand that it's not just a material item. It's something that will mentally help my well-being. Whether it's going to be safe to ride here or not. Thanks for putting into words what I've been feeling especially recently. (To the point where I was about to buy an illegal bike and ride without a drivers license, in a country where I can get kicked out or have my visa be cancelled if I have any kind of criminal record.) Stay safe out there guys.

    CC, _things_ will only do so much to make you happy. It's a nice dream, but it's only a part of the situation. What's your mission in life? Cars, bikes, houses, clothes, whatever, they don't matter as much as getting up in the morning and having a mission, a goal, something to direct yourself. A mission, health, relationships, friendships, _helping people_ , all of that matters more. I've been working on COVID research for over a year, computational models, ML assisted epidemiology, etc, it's grueling. But I have a mission, it's what I _want_ to do. Clinical research, biopharma, that's my mission. So....what's your mission CC? You can't run from what drives your soul, you can't run from demons, you fave to find that passion and fight those demons. Much love CC.

    Sounds to me like you need a nice woman and to start a family, someone trust worthy that you can share your dream home with.
    But yeah I’m feeling down also. I sold my motorcycles due to financial issues and it is crushing me I really miss riding, it used to be my therapy now I literally have nothing.
