I am a lebanese Australian from the south of lebanon and want to offer my deepest condolences to our Irish brothers and sisters. This is not a hezbollah killing . This is a cowardly attack.
I agree. The supposed killer is not guilty. They offered anyone to ensure, no reprisals. Thank you for your condolences.
Rest In Peace Sean 🌹
Thoughts and prayers with family and friends 🙏🏻 I am very sorry for your loss and pain 💔
Reality of decades of proud service by the Irish army as UN peacekeepers is casualties of brave soldiers but when it happens in avoidable circumstances it's doubly tragic for those left behind. An awful thing. The love and grief in Ireland for these families is palpable.
A lots of love ❤️ to the family and community . RIP 🙏
I want to join the Defence Forces 🇮🇪🙏🍀
One of the young stars of Newtown gone so soon and will be sadly missed. May his soul rest in peace. When will trouble end in Lebanon.
Maybe we when uk and amerikkk stop helping 🇮🇱 steal Lebanon gas?
RIP Little Prince. This is a tragedy...
A sad end to a young Irish soldier serving to keep peace in a troubled land, unfortunately as reported by an Al Jazeera journalist there have been many deaths and nothing ever comes out of the investigations
Rip boy
Amine
Investigation will be all smoke and mirrors and will not amount to anything...all playing to the gallery now. Crocodile tears...RIP young man and condolences to your family...
Such a young 24 year old, should never have been placed in this dangerous situation.
The government & the army, now have a responsibility, to account for this tragedy.
he is a soldier.
Unfortunately there will be no satisfactory outcome
Its at times like this that you would wish Robert Fisk was still alive to get a real understanding of what happened,

a soldier dies and there is mourning???
Of course we're in mourning one of our own brave soldiers has died in Lebanon fighting a fight the Lebanese should be fighting themselves. Shameful comment on your part. Died protecting others. RIP Sean Rooney.
Quiet, fool
That's a very ignorant comment on your part Mr macaw.
Lebam.... i don't think your comment will bring any comfort to the family of this young man that lost his life. Shame on you.
This was not an offensive soldier , Óglaigh na hÉireann are not and never we're an offensive force. They're on peace keeping missions with the UN trying to prevent and resolve conflicts. Ar dheis lámh Dé go raibh a anam dílis. Comhbhrón ó chroí le clann agus cairde Seán.
The country is in mourning…???that is rubbish!!

Danielle is absolutely right. The whole Ireland is in mourning because one of her brave caring soldier lost his life fighting the fight Lebanese should be fighting themselves. May his soul rest in peace and our condolences to the family of Rooney and the entire village of Newtown in Donegal. We need to respect his selfless international service to restore our troubled world 🌎.
That's your opinion based on zero knowledge of the facts. Sheep
Well except you ,they should have highlighted that but you seem to be on top of it yourself.
Take no notice he sounds like one of them worms banging drums on streets calling for more immigration and all irish are natzie's, get big gerry's firm to have a whisper in his shell like, and ask him which knee he would like it in....
RIP Pte Rooney shot in the head at close range through the back of the bullet proof UN vehicle after it crashed in the Hezbollah controlled town.

Why they have supported this type of behaviour in Northern Ireland for decades , exact same circumstances just different nationalities involved. It’s been ok for Irish terrorists to bomb a british peacekeeping for in NI
