My Yorkie Poo is 19 years old. When my wife first brought her home , she was only 3 months old. The first day she crawled up on me and never left my side. She picked me and not my wife. Waited for me every day by the garage door at 5:00 knowing I would be coming home from work. Best dog ever, Never leaves my side. Now she is totally blind and old, still wanders the house looking for me and when she finds me, plops down and falls asleep.
I'll be heartbroken when she finally goes.
I was never a dog person until this little doggie adopted me .

My Yorkiepoo was almost 19 years old when she passed away. She never had stomach issues. She was the sweetest little thing. She was my baby and I knew she would travel everywhere with me so I named her Gypsie. I got her when she was 7 weeks old but visited her when she was only a few weeks old so I basically had her her entire life. I lost her in 2000 and still miss her to this day. ❤

I have a yorkiepoo since 2015, she was about 8 weeks old when I got her. She has some stomach issues sporadically, mostly when she eats stuff she's not supposed to. She's been barking more as she got older but it's easily controlled. It was very easy to discipline her and potty train. She requires grooming every 4-8 weeks but nothing too crazy. And she's so loving and cuddly. Everyone that meets her loves her. She definitely prefers people over other dogs but socializes well, always has. They are cute, smart, energetic and will make your life a whole lot better with their companionship. I couldn't have asked for a better dog ❤️

Is this video kidding me? this dog is great I've never loved a dog more than I love this little 4 lb dog. Have not really experienced any of the issues that its talking about. But I also have four girls who treat this dog like a queen. she gets her exercise from them, plenty of play time, love and care. Brushed daily, bathed weekly. The grooming's not that big of a deal we take her about once every 6 weeks for 35 bucks. We do usually have to trim around her eyes a few times in between grooming but other than that it's not that big of a deal.
It's awesome that this dog will just lay on you while you're watching TV and it's like you don't even know she's there. Great car companion too. Barking? She doesn't do it often but it is a sharp bark when she does and I quiet her down quickly with a stern "no!"
Best dog in 44 years of living I've ever had. Shes a year old and my family and I are hoping for many, many more years with her.

She was relatively easy to train and she listens and does what I ask of her she has been the best dog I've ever had and I'm not looking forward to ever having to say goodbye to her. I brush her I give her shampoo every couple weeks, blow dry her And if she's not feeling well we go right to the vets She is worth every bit of effort and money I've had to spend to maintain her over the years . If you get one of these dogs you will never regret it.

Lmao I’ve been giving my yorkie poo a hug this whole time watching this guy slander her family. She literally never pukes, especially compared to my other pup. Also the pricing is way more than I’ve heard of ever. Grooming is definitely a work in progress but it’s not like she’s a matted mess if I don’t brush her for a week. This video brings up decent points but definitely don’t let it deter you from getting a yorkie poo if you want one. I’ve had 9 dogs throughout my life and this girl is one of the most devoted, sweetest, smartest pups I’ve ever had.

My Yorkipoo is perfect! He’s 5 I got him from a friend who could no longer care for him when he was 2 so I didn’t have to do too much training. He barks a lot which is good because I’m a truck driver and he’s on the truck with me so I need him to be attentive and alert me. I’ve never had a cage or kennel for him, I can leave him at home or on the truck for a while and he’s not destructive and he won’t use the potty inside the house or truck. He’s aggressive at times, he does bite and like the video says he’s not afraid of anything. He’ll run up on big pit bulls like he’s a big dog. He loves being rubbed and cuddled, he follows me around everywhere he’s very loyal and he has separation anxiety. If I leave him he will wine. I love this baby so much I can’t even begin to describe how much he means to me. I let him walk me 30 min, 4x a day. 30 min is usually how long he walks before he heads back to the house/truck, I let him lead. I don’t have to buy expensive dog food and he doesn’t mat easily but I get him shaved all the way down every 3 months. I just have to keep his eyes wiped because stuff gets caked up in the corners of his eyes a lot. Again my Yorkipoo, Spade is perfect!

My YorkiePoo Teddy was an amazing companion. A friend of mine worked at a vet clinic and they had a YorkiePoo that had to have surgery on his leg, so the original owner/breeder couldn’t sell him. (That’s a separate issue all together!) They were looking for a home for him, so I got him free. And aside from that one surgery when he was 3 months old, he never had a single health problem.
The only issue with his health occurred after the age of 14. He developed heart disease and we didn’t recognize it soon enough. So, by the time we started meds, it had already gotten bad. We treated him with lasiks and other vet-prescribed medicine. But ultimately, that’s what he passed from… Just make sure to have regular vet. check ups, including tests for heart disease. Other than that, he was a very healthy boy. Very intelligent, loving, affectionate, and got along great with my other dogs.
I had a one year old beagle when I got Teddy, so they grew up together as “brothers.” lol And then when we brought my best friend’s Lhasa Apso in, they all got along perfectly. We ended up breeding Teddy (YorkiePoo), with Alice (the Lhasa), and were blessed with seven beautiful babies! We kept one boy and one girl and the rest got wonderful homes.
But I would just like to advocate for all of these breeds I’ve mentioned. They’re not for everybody, but I sure loved these beautiful and loving companions… Bugles the beagle, Teddy the YorkiePoo, Alice the Lhasa, and the two Lhasa/YorkiePoo mixes we kept, LaiLa and Chewy. ❤ All amazing doggies. I’m blessed to still have the two younger ones, and I miss the other three every single day. 🐶❤️👍🏼

One is tall and lanky and the other is short and chunkier. One took a couple of weeks to potty train fully and the other took over six months without accidents.

My yorkiepoo has a stomach of steel -never once had any stomach issues, even when he probably should have. He exercises himself as long as I keep put plenty of toys for him. He’s so quiet and only barks for a moment if someone is at the door. All dogs need to be socialized and trained, so if you can’t do that, you shouldn’t have a dog in general. What an interesting list. 😂 he’s been the most eager to please, well behaved, loyal and smart dog I’ve ever had. And I currently own 4 dogs.

Owned at Yorkipoo since 2019. Watched this just to see if it was accurate :) 1. Yes to a sensitive stomach. Unfortunately they will try to eat things he finds outside. Don't let them. 2. Exercise. Not really accurate. Some fetch will typically do it. 3. Grooming. YES! 100% accurate. 4. Barking. YUP!! 5. Socialization. Not really necessary unless you expect your dog to be around other dogs or people much. 6. Yes. They act tough. Got to keep them controlled. Will tear after cats and other dogs. Never allow them to freely roam. 7. No. Not really. At least my Yorkie Poo wasn't anymore expensive then other breeds.

Important thing that was left out--dental issues. Like all very small dogs, they are prone to periodontal disease. Also, they may retain baby teeth that will need to be extracted. Both of mine needed cleaning and dental work under general anesthetic every few years, at four figures a pop. And be sure that whoever works on your little dog has experience with small dog anesthesia.

If you find walking for 1/2 hour a day is too much exercise for you, with or without a dog, then you're going to have health issues if you don't already. I wonder why USA has the highest obesity rates in the world. My Yorkipoo eats everything with no stomach issues, is 100% toilet trained, friendly with other dogs & people, stays home while i'm in the office & doesn't bark, the only point i'd agree to here is that she does require regular brushing & a clip about every 10 weeks which I do myself.

My mom's Yorkie poo exercises herself. She runs around house like a crazy burro from tijuana. She's sassy smart and only barks when people are at the door or barks from upstairs to 80 year old Mom to let her know it's time to go to bed. She's very social but only wants to get pet for a short minute. Meany lives up to her name when you're trying to give Mom a hug cause she's not sharing

I'm sure this true for some yorkipoo's, just like any other dog, what the video describes has not been my experience. I had to put our yorkipoo down, a couple of days ago. He was 20 years old. I'm sure if the oral cancer hadn't come about he would have gone for a few more years. My yorkiepoo, jack, was a family dog. He didn't like socializing with other dogs or people, hardly went to the vet but did have check up's when he needed them. He was at the groomer every couple of months so really had no problem with shedding. Talk to people who own them, then make a decision. They are great companions.

We have a Yorki Poo & a pit bull. The yorkie poo runs the show, or at least think he does anyway. He definitely barks ALOT and is constantly moving in the house. Making laps around the house is his usual duty. The yorkie poo is 1 and the pit bull is 11. They get along 90% of the time... except for when my pitbull has had enough of the yorkie poo's BIG MAN ENERGY!!😅

5:03 I’m the 5th owner of a 5 yr old Yorkiepoo. He’s not destructive but very disruptive. He seems to have high anxiety. He growls and barks at every little sound all day, every day. He has the most irritating high pitched bark that can shatter your ear drums. He’s very possessive of me and doesn’t let anyone near me. Walking with him can be scary. He’s fearless trying to chase people, other dogs and cars. I wasn’t aware of these issue when I was asked to take him. But have come to find out these are just a few reasons the other families wouldn’t keep him. I’m at a loss as to what to do with him. I don’t like the thought of passing him on to a 6th family but I need some peace and quiet. I’m at my wits end.

Mine is 16 years old and his kidneys are slowly going but still loves to go for walks, play, tug-of-war.. We were told two years ago he only has a few weeks left. I decided when he no longer wants to go for walks or play, or obviously if he's in pain, we will put him down. So far so good... Walks every day 15-45 minutes.. I let him run around off leash in an open field, I feed him fresh cooked meat, carrots, sometimes rice..
His eyes leak a lot and I have to wash his eyes 1 to 3 times a day and get him groomed 3x a year. Also trim his butt sometimes of course. A good tip for that is to add 1/2 a tsp of olive or coconut oil to his daily fresh meat meal.
I love this dog. I also love how closely it looked to my other dog (RIP) who was a Russian Bolonk. They were similar age and looked identical except for color of fur.
Great dog. Awesome, fun, energetic despite being 16...

Have had a rescue for four years, no stomach issues, no destruction. I keep my yorkipoo shaved every 6 weeks and occasional brushing
, no matting. My dog is very quiet and barks only at bicycles going by. She is very social, does not nip, likes to play chase. I got her at 5-6 years of age from a hoarder through the Humane Society, so no early training by me. My only issue is she is a picky eater and grooming does get costly.

I have a Yorkipoo. Lovely little dog. What you say is correct but if you do it then you get a nice dog. My dog does think he is big and scary, when he was a puppy he would have a mad hour where you would throw his toys and he would make weird noises. He went crazy.

Mine doesn't bark alot. She loves her species and her humans. She does have a sensitive stomach (working thru' these issues.) Need to exercise believe it or not. Loves her off leash freedom for 1/2 hour or more - and she's 10 years old. Grooming isn't an issue. Clipping once every 6-8 weeks. Brushing everyday simply because she loves it. Affectionate and loyal. They are an amazing breed.I'm a senior and she gets me off the couch. She's my best friend and therapist.

Our little but big hearted cow dog sleeps with my sister and brother in law every night.

In my opinion most of this video is crap. Ive had my girl from the day she was born. Ive trained many dogs of all sizes and she is ny far the smartest Ive owned. I live in an elderly and disabled apartment complex. She only barks when someone knocks on my door. She doesnt require a lot of exercise. She was taught to ride on the residents rollators and sits on their laps so they can pet her. She thinks these are her jobs and she takes them seriously. She is referred to as the little therapy dog. If you feed them a good quality food like any other dog, they do better. I didnt have to pay a cent for her and I spoil her because she deserves it and is well worth the money. So dont let this video deter you. If you want a yorkipoo and are willing to train them like you should any dog then it is well worth it!! Highly intelligent easily trained and extremely lovable!!
