This is TAS. each rep has two 1 frame links. Most important thing about this is crouch dash cancelling which I'll be making a video about most likely. It is really good and I've taken a deep dive into it.
Edit: You can't SDI his crouch jab guys. It doesn't have hitlag

This a TAS (Tool Assisted) combo. You literally cant do this combo naturally as it requires probably an imposible input (a joystick being on one side and then being on the other side 1 frame later, literally impossible to do for normal controllers (without modifications) not to mention the human doing frame perfect inputs, this is just an example from Mario Bros TAS speedrun tho, I dunno what the TAS does on this video)
Actually that works on pikachu, puff, pichu, and Kirby as well

@@az7433046 frame perfect tricks are a common hurdle in high level gaming communities- while not easy, players can definitely pull off hard inputs fairly consistently. Like you mention, we don’t know the inputs this combo requires, and as such we cannot deem it ‘impossible’ in RTA
fun fact: you can actually do this in tekken when you trap someone in a corner. so sakurai is definitely staying true to tekken

It’s a pseudo infinite because you run out of stage length eventually. Cool concept though!

I'm a tekken player but God DAYUM do I love these kazooie videos. Sf4 had 1 frame links so I hope to see some good players perfect 1 frame links like this in smash
One of the links is pressing down on the control stick at a specific time which is REALLY hard.

I assume you're crouch canceling crouch dash there. Other fighting games have similar frame-perfect links so it isn't entirely impossible.
SF4 1 frame links could be plinked and made more lenient. I'm not sure if there's anything like that for Smash, if so something like this probably isn't practical.

@@runterranger7398 You can loop EWGF into itself, do this jab thing, combine the two, or do some weird footstool side-b thing on at least some characters. I think it's side-b anyway; that the lunging punch thing that causes crumpling.

So this is why Sakurai didn't put wavedashing in this game.

i repeatedly jab-1'd a friend and it basically accomplished the same thing as isabelle's jab
I did the same thing! But then I couldn’t replicate it in training mode and figured it must not be true.
@@0ne_Hundred Remember that Kazuya doesn't work in regular training mode, you can only accurately test hit tech with the training mod pack. His moves have weird hitstun properties that can make it seem like something doesn't combo when it actually does [for instance, Electric Wind God Fist is a true combo into itself at certain percents with any DI and mashing air dodge, but the combo counter will still read it as not true for some reason]
It's also important to note the combo counter doesn't count something as true if there's even one actionable frame between hits. Most characters only have a single frame 1 option - shield on the ground. If someone chooses any other option, it will take longer.
In the Kazuya ditto, for instance, if the defending Kazuya isn't trying to shield/roll/spot dodge the defending Kazuya will constantly lose to jab 1 as long as they're at a high enough percent for jab 1 to not have its knockback ignored by tough body since Kazuya doesn't have any options faster than Jab 1 on the ground besides shield/roll/spot dodge due to the attacking Kazuya being in frame advantage. I think it can be shielded, but I would need to test it. It might also matter how much percent they're at and how stalled the move is.
Edit: tested it, shield it/DI away and shield to get out of jab 1 into jab 1 or jab 1+2 into jab 1. However, you might be able to do jab 1 into a 50/50 mixup with jab 1 or grab, but again it would take testing.
Edit 2: Did more tests, jab 1 into grab doesn't cover shield into immediate spot dodge, but it might be something you can use once or twice against someone who isn't prepared. If you can condition someone to try that option [shield into spot dodge/roll after you jab 1], you might be able to get a Demon God Fist [rising neutral attack] if you read it, since you'll auto turn around if they try to roll behind with a character with a short/medium length roll distance. This is especially good with conditioning in the corner, since Jab 1 into slight delay Demon God Fist covers spot dodge and roll in either direction against some characters with shorter roll distances if standing at max jab distance, losing to hold shield or attack. That turns hitting a Jab 1 in the corner into a mixup between jab 1 [losing to shield/roll/spot dodge/really fast jab but hitting jump if done near frame perfect or slower attacks], grab [losing to roll/spot dodge and fast attacks but beating hold shield/jump/slow attacks], and Demon God Fist [losing to fast attacks/hold shield/jump but beating slow attack/roll/spot dodge if their roll is till within spacing]. Against characters with fast jabs, you're better off doing the three hit jab for damage, since jab 1 against characters with a super fast jab is only a mixup if you read it and do the meme option of jab 1 into a defensive option.

I don't have a great way to test [all I can do is use a metronome to try to get the timing as close to frame perfect as possible, which is about the best I can do without TAS], but it looks like at 0%, 50%, 100%, 150%, 200%, 300%, and 400% Mario, Falco, DK, and Mewtwo [a bunch of different weights and floatiness] can shield it barely, but after 150% you're better off just doing jab jab finisher for the kill even if it was an infinite. Staling really messes with it, since the first 2 or 3 jabs are true on Mario at 300+% but then jab 4 on isn't true.
There might be some percents where jab 1 into jab 1, jab 2, finisher allows for a slight damage extension before staling makes jab 1 into jab 1 not combo anymore, but I can't test that easily. The application I can find for that is against midweights like Mario around 120% you might be able to jab 1 > jab 1 + 2 + finisher to make it more likely for them to die at ledge even with correct DI if you can get the second jab 1 out frame perfect [which is hard since it can't be buffered].

When I played Tekken I was extremely used to pushing down and attack at the same time, but now the timing has to be staggered, making combo extension infinitely more difficult.

these are super cool but why do this timing intensive tas combo when you could land with nair and kill, or land with empty hop/fast fall air dodge grab and kill, his zero to deaths are already so open ended these infinates are probably more work then getting good
Is this theoretically possible for a person on something like a smashbox? I'm just assuming what makes it impossible on a controller is how fast you'd have to move the stick for those wavedash cancels.

Huh. So the melee infinites are back
So let me get this straight:
- Half of Kazuya's moves are intangible
- All his smashes have armor
- Him existing has armor
- His f-smash is faster and possibly stronger than falcon punch
- EWGF is the one of if not the best moves in the game and can combo into itself or other kill confirms
- And he has not one, but two infinites
- Edit: According to a comment, he actually has 4 infinites
But this character is still below top tiers in terms of viability
Actually 4 infinites
-half of kazuya's moves are intangible somewhere, doesnt mean it's always useful either bc of where it is intangible or bc of when it is intangible.
-his smashes have % armor, unlike mac's so it is a bit weaker
-he has a worse version of tough guy that only ever works against rapid jabs (and a few exceptions)
-idk why would u compare anything to falcon punch but ok
-EWGF is one if not the hardest single move in the game to do consistently, doesnt combo into itself but into pretty much anything u want until high %
-he does have a few infinites which sadly arent generally hard to perform (except the one shown in this vid)
-he is also the character with least range in the game (yes, less than ken/ryu)
-he also has no real burst option to close in so he can actually do shit
-he is the only character with a jumpsquat that isnt 3 frames long, his is 7frames long more than twice as long
-his fastest OOS is frame 11 (to compare with someone that is considered slow in punishing OOS, falcon's upb is frame 12 but it has three times more range)
so yes, he can be "busted" in the right hands but he is handicapped in a lot of ways to compensate this possibility. I dont see him past high tier atm. It's been a week, let him develop as a character and let the rest of players learn how to play against him before saying he's op or he's shit

@@cerdi_99 Most of these are valid points, and I can agree that his slow movement, lack of a burst option, and poor range severely decreases his options.
But there are 2 things I would like to clarify:
1. I compared f-smash to falcon punch because thats exactly what Sakurai did in his kazuya showcase (Happens around 20:22)
2. EWGF does combo into itself, but maybe not on all characters because of hitbox sizes. Here is a video of kazuya doing EWGF into itself several times on Dedede DI'ing away and buffering airdodge: ruclips.net/video/eZpuhv0raRg/видео.html

It is just Bayonetta isn’t it, I mean- you can start this combo with EWGF at ledge and then reverse the down tilt on your opponent to get the entire stage.
Or a regular combo by tekken standards.
