Smash 64's sound design is the epitome of "party game" and I'm fucking for it. The crowd sounds are garbage in every other game and the impact hits are so mediocre. Gonna get me a modded switch just to have Ultimate use 64 SFX
Dude, I LOVE that this is a thing that happens. It's competitive, yet, cooperative in a sense. Above all, it is creative and fosters a spirit of friendship and camaraderie in a way that salty 1v1s never could. I would love if everyone had a chance to do something like this after the tournaments are over, to turn over any salty feelings and emotions that might linger on and better build a sense of solidarity and unity within the smash community.

Americans go for the true combos that are technical with some items, like tacos and alvin, Japanese go for hype and rely much more on the items they use and stage rather than their own moves, mainly it is just kysk who only rarely uses items in some of the combos

You know if somebody that smashes 40+ hours a week, for decades, is losing their minds, you are witnessing some incredibly impressing and creative stuff!

The Falcon punch sound affect in this is better than Melee, but Melee's animation is better. Plus the crowd going crazy whenever you make it back on stage is way more satisfying sounding with the, "AWWWWWW" In melee most of the time they're just ooing.
the reason this game has combo contests is because hitstun is insanely long and most importantly, DI and wall techs dont exist. you could probably get some cool item combos (shoutouts PKBeats) but they wouldn't be as impressive as they are in this game. boom would rate each combo a 7
This reminds me of those trickshot snooker competitions Eurosport used to send (still do?). Quite fun to watch despite knowing nothing about Snooker. I was entertained by those; I'm entertained by this.
