The line "fuck it she's not dieing because of me" sends a huge wave of chills down my back, absolutely love this song
Especially since in that situation most people would let the dog die and to alleviate their guilty conscience would blame the person who tied the dog there when their own actions killed the dog.
I would have left her
@@fluffierthenafox2766 if the person left the dog, their actions wouldn’t have killed the dog, but rather their lack of actions
@@nin10dog not acting is still an action
@@hushchildren3988 i see your point lol
I loved the shots showing various items underwater. It was such an artistic way of saying that it doesn't matter how much you have, expensive cars, money, or gold watches, in the end, we are all human, and nature treats us all indifferently
Soooooooo throw my gf into a wood chipper is what you’re saying right?
@@Imgonnasueyou420 maybe
@@Imgonnasueyou420 food
You say that, but negate the fact humanity is in fact capable of building structures near immune to the damage from this. If you had all the money in the world you could build a watertight bunker with sufficient springs and earthquake protection to just endure it. Also if you were near a helicopter at this time, you'd also be fine. Money could deadass save you.
@@himedo1512 nature isn't treating you any differently though.
This is a great way to spread awareness of the Cascadia earthquake, and i love the positive twist yall put on it. Humans are very resilient creatures and if we work together we can survive the earthquake.
Yeah since this is happening on top of everything else going on I think I'm finally gonna kill myself
Humans are extraordinary :)
HELL YEAH WE HAVE TO WORK TOGETHER EVEN IF WE ARE ENIMIES WE WILL GIVE EVERTHING IT TAKES TO SURVIVE
@@karsonreeves8735 HELL YEAH, WE ARE HOMO SAPIENS, HUMANITY SHALL PROSPER UNDER ALTRUISM AND HUMANISM FOR AS LONG AS OUR EGALITARIAN MINDSET SUSTAINS ITSELF!!! ✊️✊️✊️

This honestly made me cry, this song was beautiful and shocking, sent chills up my spine. This is a real life horror of our own design.
Honestly it’s the second time iv watched it and damn I feel more emotions that I thought was humanly possible it’s tells so much is the animation and the music
hello, i am from Florida and hurricane Ian hit a little while back so this song gives me even more chills, because during the hurricane i went through similar things, just not as bad as in this video.
Wow… I did not expect new music THIS soon. It hasn’t even been a year since the last album and we’re already getting new singles. And after finishing a big tour as well… I mean, I ain’t complaining. I’m hyped for another batch of awesome tunes. Keep doing what y’all do!

The fact this song has a meaning makes it even deeper.

The way stories are told in these songs is literally amazing.
I can already foresee this to be an absolute work of art.
And right you were.
You were right
As someone from New Zealand, (we're at risk from the Hikurangi subduction) who might end up in a flooded city, I really appreciate you covering it. A lot of us are taught at least the very basics of what to do in most natural disasters but, a 9.0 earthquake, which would equate to a 9 on richtor scale, is very possible and likely, if not from the earthquake itself then an ensuing tsunami.
It's absolutely terrifying and if you don't know a whole lot about earthquakes and tsunami's I'd definitly recommend looking into them!
I send my best wishes of those of you out near the cascadia subduction zone, make sure to stay safe and learn a bit about earthquake and tsunami safety since I've been told it's not heavily taught in countries not waterlocked!
water based natural disasters are much more unnerving for me than others
Also from nz and I have a question just randomly would your school teachers just screech like a banshee earthquake for a monthly earthquake drill? Like seriously it was like a bloody goat just like EEEEAAAARRRRTTTHHHHHQQQUUUUAAAAKKKKEEEE!!!!!
@@vannbradley4159 Nah, not us, our teachers were pretty chill all things considered, and we had em once a term rather than monthly.
@@dracoqueen1263 good to know . I have actually been meaning to ask someone that for a while so thanks
It’s always the best to live in the mainland. Never the coast unless there’s a part where the ocean dips into your country or continent for example there’s a big spot any tsunami could probably hit but if a tsunami hit the SE coast of where I’m at I’m done I have no place to go and I don’t know very many shelters around
This is going to be, once again, a legendary song by some legendary artists.
Let’s goooooa another hit RA

2:20 I love the background singing in that bit
Just shows how every single line brings its own meaning
It’s not just music it’s a story and that’s what I loved am loving and will always love about the gem of a channel that is rare Americans
i love the progress of their animation
as much as i love cats dogs and rats you can tell its independantly made on a low budget
but the more popular they get the more the animation gets more datailed and now we have this piece of art
I mean, that's not necessarily a bad thing. The animation style there was unique in a way as all RA songs are.
@@lft4brd862 i wasnt saying it was a good or bad thing
just interesting how the quality has changed
(quality as in detail and smoothness)
FYI, Cats Dogs and Rats was done by a different studio. Every animated video afterwards was done by Solis Animation and now Crooked City Studios.
I understands what you mean but the anime pfp :|
@@elcomekaka its not anime, its a picrew
"Fuck it she's not dying cause of me" with the suppressed yell really pushed it to be even more intense.
As someone who just came and saw RA in Portland, and as someone local to the area… I can safely say that I’ll be listening to this waiting for the bus on those stormy days. The imagery used, as well at the disclaimer at the beginning of the video really sets the mood for what I (personally) feel represents our area. Dull grey skies, the flooding, the earth being swept from beneath our feet… Especially in the winter months when the sea swells, and the rain never ends.
Good job and sick beats as always boys, can’t wait to see you in September.
yeah, we got smth worse in the background building thats a few centuries in due.
We're back in September, along with the rain! If you haven't gotten tickets yet, you can click this link: rareamericans.tbits.me/trk/74GQ ! Hope to see you out at the show!
Just listened to the song. It is absolute fire.
Did you mean water?
@@user-rj1sr4ho9g I like you
The usage of the realistic environment just gives this music video a whole new feel. It's like "This may be a hypothetical story, but this shit is real and it happens to people." It just makes it a lot more powerful in my opinion
I love the ominous story telling, followed by panic and then selfless action! Love it!
I love that this is a love letter to the people of the coming generations that know that absolute hell that is coming, but are still going to love each other and help anyway they can
+1
The Cascadia subduction zone has been the center of almost a decade of my own research. I was literally just talking about a song to recognize this impending disaster. when the big one comes, I'll be standing arms raised on the Steele bridge waiting for the end man. PNW is quite literally a death trap in so many way in an earthquake and tsunami happened.
This song was stuck in my head yesterday. I think I just had a dream about a real bad storm going down in my town. There was mention of tornado and extreme winds and heavy rainfall- what kind of gods are you.
Living in California makes it all feel real prophetic too. Love this song.
Appreciate the love and that's definitely scary lol! Are you coming to a show in California? Tickets are getting low so if you are going to grab them, you can grab them here: rareamericans.tbits.me/trk/74GQ Hope to see you out at a show!

Japan Sinks 2020 looking different
but for real, this song is undoubtedly one of my favorites in your entire collection. The messages about materialism, and of human empathy, of how supporting eachother is the most important thing... It just hits really close to home. This music video is astounding and I can't help but keep coming back to it.
1:52 this part gave me goosebumps, It's so frickin' goooood!
As someone who worries easily, I’m jamming out will having an unnecessary panic attack because of this lol
Same, all of this panic for what reason? I live nowhere near an ocean so
Yeah it’s still crazy though
I live in the Pacific Northwest, somewhat near the ocean. And when I watched this for the first time I looked I had to look up news reports, and it’s a terrifying concept.
@Matthew Harold thank you
@@forecastlotus3899 same. But I always have worries about huge natural disasters or the world ending like this and what will happen
Once again, Rare Americans never misses.
More than how the music sounds, which is phenomenal, the lore in the background of all of these are worthy of having a novel written on them
I remember when a hurricane arrived here where I live, I know it is not the same as a tsunami but when I see those images I still remember the houses flying and the planting of people leaving with them, wonderful
Seeing the different parts of Vancouer under water is so well done, because I can easily recognize parts of the city and it’s fun to find all the little parts I know

Saw Brittle Bones Nicky a while back, been addicted to these videos since. You all have talent, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Honestly, thank you for giving me a distraction from my own tough times, you all rock 🤙
Since the start the artwork mix with their flavor of singing is always striking
the environments an lighting oh my gosh
THIS LOOKS SO FUCJKUNG GOOOOOODDD AAAHAH I CANT GET OVER HOW GOOD THIS LOOKS..
AND THE SORY IS ABSOLUTELY TERRIFYING ITS SOOO...
There was always only one song that was able to make me cry by itself and that was 'A good song never dies'.
With how emotional and beautiful it was, there's no wonder it could awaken such feelings inside of me.
Now there are two songs.
What's the first song?
This one.
Although there are some other heavyweight contenders as well.
I love how it’s he’s in Vancouver, I’ve grown up there and recognized the places in the background. Amazing job!!!
You can put so much emotion into your songs, that I can feel with the goosebumps I get when I´m listning to your songs.
Great work!
Look at all of his new Music, Love IS a he brings.
Everything’s he has done for us has been amazing even with the new songs.
Already listened to this so many times on spotify, its amazing!
This song randomly played from my playlist, and with the current earthquakes in Turkey/Syria in the back of my mind caused the song to hit different.
Really hope that people get saved from the rubble asap. Just a horrible catastrophe.
A very creative way of notifying people about a catastrophic event that’s set occur soon.
Love the song as well.
Listening to this at night on your swingset while it’s raining is a different vibe. different indeed. I love this song, forgot about it for a while actually
my anxiety after watching this 📈📈📈📈📈
Love how they're called the Rare Americans but this is the second video that takes place in Vancouver. Love it!!
Vancouver is our hometown! We're based out of Vancouver, Canada which happens to be on the continent, America, which is what makes us RARE! hopefully that helps!
Y'all gotta make an extended version I just keep playing it over and over lol

That solo at 3:00. Absolutely sick.
Watched it now once again and I must say that I really really love it. Not only did RA do an incredible job again (but I'm not surprised about that anymore) but also the animation team did an absolute incredible job! It looks absolutely incredible! The scene where the house was swallowed by the water- I always get the chills
damn i wish there was a movie or a video game based on this that was amazing
You guys manage to tell an amazing story with amazing visuals AND a great song? I’ve loved your guys’ songs for a while and I’m still amazed by the talent you have
The best part is definitely the beginning, when they matched the cracking of the earth to the beat IMO.
Your music style goes so well with the animations. There are so many ways to tell stories and you do it in a really fun way, I love it.
I have no words, this is so fff amazing
These animations are getting better and better
The production quality is unreal.
I cannot stop listening to this song.... I hope you'll have this on rock for people. See ya there!
This is Gonna be another hit keep it up
Found this through a ad so thankful I didn't skip
For real though, this song straight up got me in tears
that line " the earth starts shaking the waves start breaking its every man for himself" hits like a hurricane
Holy shit man, This might be my new favorite song, not just from you guys, but in general. Sick as hell animation and a bopping song, Can’t go wrong with Rare Americans!
I'm so excited, you'll be in my country! See you in Warsaw!
We’re coming back to Warsaw and will be there April 1st, 2023! Hope to see ya out at the show!!! Tickets go on sale this Friday, Nov 11th at 10:00am here: www.rareamericans.com/tour
This is amazing. I feel like in today's climate of both social and environmental this video speaks on multiple levels. This song and the art shows that material sh*t doesn't matter. We're apart of nature, and it doesn't care what we think or feel. For all our advancements, all our technology and cars and likes, when things go south all that matters is each other and what we really need. There's so much personality and art in this song and video. The beat, sound affects, the tone just-*chefs kiss*
In 1:30-1:45 I got chills. "She's not dying because of me." Action. He took action and saved a life. I see people in my life today saying that want to get better, but they don't take action. As well as calling out an actual predicted danger.
Thank you Rare Americans. Your creations are inspiring and I'm thankful for it.
I love it how a short music video has made a world I want a show on
2:40 is that epcot?
I love how much emotion was put into this song and the video did a great job portraying that
Everything about this is absolutely amazing, best music video I ever saw
I live in Louisiana, and stories of entire cities being wiped away and flooded hits close to home, thank you.
I live in Louisiana too and my brother is in wildlife resource conservation and management and he's helped plant trees along the coast as their best efforts to bide time before cities like new Orleans are completely under water.
I really love the animation on this one, not to mention the song is great!
DAMN ...THE VISUALS.. THE STORYTELLING...
happy pride everyone! :)
By making the song about something 50 years from now, you've solidified your band in history. In 50 years we'll be listening to this song again, along with our children. Genius
Daamn the animation is crazy!! Nice job 👍. Tysm for this neat song , I can finally add something good to my playlist.
