I'm ecstatic that this feature is coming into D2 for casual players like me who aren't huge into PvP but also not hardware clan members that can schedule regular dungeon and raid times. Can't come soon enough.
I get that when they're talking to their colleagues about what each expansion is. It's really for us. But I find it funny to think that the other departments are just left in the dark about what the game is and they are isolated to just their roles and this is the first time they're learning what the story is, mechanics, settings are as well

Strand is so much cooler than just the "poison" we were theorizing imo. I also really like seeing people like Tyson in these presentations - people like to act like Bungie is just an unrecognizable shell in name only but that guy has been there through a LOT.
Honestly the idea and general aesthetic of Strand isn't so much of an issue as the colour they chose to use for it for me. The fact they are using the green we usually associate with Corruption/Poison (or as I liked to call it, Decay) is confusing at best. I expected a power along these lines thematically, however I expected a more orange-red colouring to it. Which only makes the idea of what the final darkness power even more murky. It feels like there isn't any other possible/potential power that has any basis in the story.

My prediction? We will be forced to regroup and most of the Coailtion will retreat to the Last City, at the end of the campaign, we will witness the Traveler break apart, and fall onto the Last City. The City, the Dreaming City, and Neo Luna will be evacuated, and the Coalition will flee Sol. Only to return in Lightfall.

weird conspiracy when they told us the game couldn't handle many patches with the content and as soon as it was gone we've gotten hotfixes like every other week. i'm more inclined to believe the people who made the game when it comes to how the game works
9:55 a Hunter uses his grenade/grapple in the air and throws some kind of knife. The knife bounces to another target like the stasis melee and it debuffs both targets binding them together with some kind of debuff.
I feel like for the Titan Strand super, rather than being that one off super with the mini short ranged spin, they should have made it so that it was a roaming super where the light attack was single target focused stabs (because they look like stabbed not slicers) and the heavy attack should have made enemies float leaving them open (like the new hunter dive thing).
stasis had one insta-cast and two roaming so strand having two insta-cast and one roaming is fine, but a lot of people seem to think the new titan strand super is roaming so i guess we'll see
My only gripe I have about King's Fall is the same gripe I've had with both returning Raids, and it's the fact that we don't get any of the Age of Triumphs gear with them. In terms of aesthetic, the AOT stuff looked infinitely better than the base stuff, and it's still so disappointing we have no way to obtain that stuff in D2.
Agreed. That gear was so clean back in d1. I loved the hard mode kings fall armor but the moments of triumph variants put it to shame. I do wish they brought back that armor as well but it is what it is
2 months later and after watching the lore on D1 crucible maps, I'm predicting that this civilization is the result of the Exodus Red that we lost contact with
I'd absolutely LOVE to have a way to hot swap armor pieces without having to go into menus. Like for my hunter when running solar, swap between Young Ahamkara's Spine for general use and Shards of Galanor right before popping the super. Same thing for arc titan, Insurmountable Skullfort for add clearing and Cuirass for extra super damage. Void warlock between Skull of Dire Ahamkara when popping nova bomb and Nezarec's for all other times. I do swap manually sometimes but it's such a pain in the ass with how slow the menus are. It's actually faster to tab over to DIM and move stuff around.
Yep Eramis pulled a captain America, although she's a villain and she came back in a much shorter space of time lol. With characters like that, you have to shatter them if you freeze them. Otherwise they come back. That, I think, was a blunder on our guardian's part, and that's why I nicknamed this season season of the blunder xD.
Here’s a theory. We learn about this city through Efrideet and her group of guardians. Think about it all we know is that she and pacifist group are just out in the sol system. What if they’ve been protecting the entrance to this place.
@@matthewnewman6039 Maybe, but we also have no idea what Efrideet has been up to. Plus every time she and her group are mentioned it’s implied that there’s more going on then just them minding their own business.
@@matthewnewman6039 Well, there is a civilization there, so SOMEONE knows about it. My guess would be Rasputin, because we heard rumors about a season for him, and it would make sense, if the final season of the year would end with him sending us there, because of some event.
@@kreia187 Consider that Nefeli Stronghold (the area being referred to) is a Greek word relating to clouds. And the "Cloud"striders are the defenders of that city.. (they do look vaguely Greek too imo) This all lines up perfectly.
@@pbatesdomination Yes, I vaguely remember that Rasputin is aware of its existence and even knows its location, right? So that would fit very well. The only thing I'm wondering about, is that the people at nefeli are supposed to be pacifists, no? The Cloudstriders don't seem like the pacifist types to me but who knows? They did mention something about their "philosophy" so perhaps it is a pacifist society, but they do have some protectors. Similar to how the Jedi are supposed to be pacifists (kinda) but they do carry weapons "for knowledge and defense, never for attack".
It's gonna be fun using the grappling hook to traverse the different locations. Also I realised something. Last season in one mission where Caital was shown vissions of the future. The visions go as The Shipstealer revived Eremis is the big bad of this season A city besieged The Neptune city is getting attacked by Calus The travelar defeated ( can't remember what the last one was ) Could the last vission that Caital saw come true aswell?
The Last City was completely absent from the Nightfall footage, and also not mentioned once during the entire Lightfall discussion. Neptune may be our new social hub if the name of the expansion foreshadows anything.
Story theory: The cloud striders in Neomuna didn't survive the collapse. They might've caused it or helped the black fleet in it. Love to hear some more thoughts and theories tho.
That would be super interesting! Or perhaps even the Cloud Striders are descendants of the few humans who knew about the coming collapse and devised a plan in utmost secrecy to escape and start a new race on Neptune. Hidden away from prying eyes for centuries, the veil has finally been lifted. Now they fight on two fronts...one to protect their home from invasion and the other to keep the truth about their history buried forever...
After knowing what threadlings are I gotta say, the concept art for them (and the warlock honestly) looks cooler than it does now, not that I’m complaining or anything
Idk, the way I see it is Darkness is more about manipulating existing energy rather than creating it. Stasis was all about removing energy from things, Strand is about taking the already existing energy and pulling it and molding it, kinda aggressively. It's not so much the antithesis of Light. Just like how the Dark Side in Star Wars wasn't the antithesis of the Light Side. The Light Side was allowing you to flow with the Force whereas The Dark Side was about bending the force to your will.
Am I the only one that finds it kinda cheap that they are adding a new hyper advanced faction into the fight supposedly out of thin air that the vanguard never even knew existed even know they’ve been around since the collapse in our solar system right under our noses and that I’m guessing this faction is going to come in an save the day for us and help us in our fight against the witness. I just feel like they’re trying to compensate for making the darkness and witness so much more powerful than the guardians and our allies by forcibly throwing in a curveball out of nowhere to try and level the playing field.
In lore, we've barely explored beyond Saturn since the collapse, and we know that humanity colonized the entire Sol System during the golden age. The Jovians: the area of the Sol system beyond the asteroid belt is territory of The Nine.
Honestly the game play loop has been getting so stale and there been no major changes to it since pretty much forsaken and the scorn I'll take whatever hit the storytelling takes for an actual city landscape that's not destroyed and may even have areas with npc in it not to mention a brand new race and all that's brings, hopefully there's some changes to the season gameplay loop as well
Finally got a break at work my phone has been blowing up all day with notifications but did anyone notice at 8:45 there are wearing black armory armor please let the BA weapons come back.

Some people HATE it (I'm not one of them) because PUGs can be irritating and full of lame griefers but at the same time, LFGs that are actually easy to use IN THE GAME are one of the only ways that I ever exposed myself to endgame WoW content when real life forces us to move on.
I'm ecstatic that this feature is coming into D2 for casual players like me who aren't huge into PvP but also not hardware clan members that can schedule regular dungeon and raid times. Can't come soon enough.
Same bro
I get that when they're talking to their colleagues about what each expansion is. It's really for us. But I find it funny to think that the other departments are just left in the dark about what the game is and they are isolated to just their roles and this is the first time they're learning what the story is, mechanics, settings are as well
I literally was thinking this same thing when watching.
I said the same thing when WoW did their expansion reveal and now Destiny 2 and Genshin Impact is doing it as well.
Talk to the camera people, we're over here.
@@Winterstrife89 yeah, it felt so weird and awkward watching it. but it's okay, not a big deal in the end.
The grappling hook will be a game changer I just hope it wont be on a too long cooldown
They said we can use it when ever we want so not sure if it will be a cooldown
@@mayhem-2889 They might've meant area wise, like even if there is no building there but I'm pretty sure since it looks like another movement tool it'll probably have like a shatterdive length of cooldown or blink.

Damn, after watching The Final Shape showcase, you can really tell the difference with the devs. They're really subdued here, versus being very animated and excited in TFS showcase.
I feel like the whole sunsetting was actually a ploy to remove all the content that was from, or done in collab with, Activision (Vicarious Vision). Why would they only move parts of the Forsaken content to the vault otherwise?
Because let's be honest, you didn't play forsaken campaign repeatedly.
I’ve thought the same thing
the concept of “sunsetting” content is not exclusive to Destiny. there’s no conspiracy, just cope.
@@uzikage. exactly
weird conspiracy when they told us the game couldn't handle many patches with the content and as soon as it was gone we've gotten hotfixes like every other week. i'm more inclined to believe the people who made the game when it comes to how the game works
9:55 a Hunter uses his grenade/grapple in the air and throws some kind of knife. The knife bounces to another target like the stasis melee and it debuffs both targets binding them together with some kind of debuff.
You can literally see the gears turn in Aztecross mind as he watchs the strand gameplay and thinks of all the nasty things he will do in pvp
22:24 That expression was perfect. Shotty, corner hugging meta now got a new tool in pvp.
Titans have so many roaming supers, I'm happy for a short range spike damage
That is true, I just wish it was a little better than what it is. Like maybe the wave goes around them in a circle or something idk
stasis had one insta-cast and two roaming so strand having two insta-cast and one roaming is fine, but a lot of people seem to think the new titan strand super is roaming so i guess we'll see
very excited for the save load outs feature and in-game LFG also really like the commendations of other players you play with that's pretty dope
I do wish they brought back that armor as well but it is what it is
I think they'll do an age of triumph at the end of the light and dark stuff. That would explain why they haven't added the armor.

ARCSOLARSTASISSOLARVOIDSTRANDARCSOLAR
We all knew that Eramis didn’t die, she was only frozen!! Excited for the new Strand Subclass next year!!
I’m hoping strand will have some cool interactions with weapons of sorrow, like how necrotic grip interacts with thorn and osteo striga
but strand isn't poison based
Lightfall is like Halo 3 ODST/ new mombasa all over again, but in the best way. I hope we get rain/ weather/ ambiance like we did in ODST.
Here’s a theory.
We learn about this city through Efrideet and her group of guardians. Think about it all we know is that she and pacifist group are just out in the sol system. What if they’ve been protecting the entrance to this place.
Nope. Bungie made it clear NO ONE knew of Neptune.
The one "pirate" shotgun is a freaking blunderbuss
Titans didn’t get that spinning move
Is that the trust handcannon at 6:50 👀 I loved that thing back in forsaken, even now that its sunset its still so fun
It's gonna be fun using the grappling hook to traverse the different locations.
Also I realised something. Last season in one mission where Caital was shown vissions of the future.
The visions go as
The Shipstealer revived
Eremis is the big bad of this season
A city besieged
The Neptune city is getting attacked by Calus
The travelar defeated ( can't remember what the last one was )
Could the last vission that Caital saw come true aswell?
The Last City was completely absent from the Nightfall footage, and also not mentioned once during the entire Lightfall discussion. Neptune may be our new social hub if the name of the expansion foreshadows anything.
The last one was something along the lines of "the traveler infected". One of them was also "the leviathan reborn" which was last season.
This makes me dread the grind all over again:
Missions for aspects and fragments.
Lol how boring and negative
Story theory: The cloud striders in Neomuna didn't survive the collapse. They might've caused it or helped the black fleet in it. Love to hear some more thoughts and theories tho.
But didn’t one cloudstrider shoot a rocket at a small pyramid ship in the trailer ?
That would be super interesting! Or perhaps even the Cloud Striders are descendants of the few humans who knew about the coming collapse and devised a plan in utmost secrecy to escape and start a new race on Neptune. Hidden away from prying eyes for centuries, the veil has finally been lifted. Now they fight on two fronts...one to protect their home from invasion and the other to keep the truth about their history buried forever...
After knowing what threadlings are I gotta say, the concept art for them (and the warlock honestly) looks cooler than it does now, not that I’m complaining or anything
I don't really know about strand from a lore perspective. The gameplay looks fun, but I think it's odd that it's a darkness power.

Honestly the game play loop has been getting so stale and there been no major changes to it since pretty much forsaken and the scorn I'll take whatever hit the storytelling takes for an actual city landscape that's not destroyed and may even have areas with npc in it not to mention a brand new race and all that's brings, hopefully there's some changes to the season gameplay loop as well
@@madmaxim3965 I wouldn’t say their a brand new race, it’s like the awoken and Jovians. Their still humans. Just built different lol
