  • What do YOU guys think would have happened if the Sun Station actually worked?
    A) The Nomai receive the coordinates to the Eye 22 minutes before the scheduled test, so they cancel it and never turn the Sun Station on.
    B) The Nomai blow up the sun and kill everything while the information is sent back 22 minutes to their past selves, creating a splinter timeline they will never be conscious of.
    C) All of the above.

"The scientists assure us this makes perfect sense" is such an ominous sentence lol. Nobody says that unless things are about to go horribly, horribly wrong.

Scene is from Shin Godzilla (2016), which is scientifically the second-best Godzilla movie after the original.

As an otaku I confirm the subtitles are 💯 real!

    That's actually a good thought.
Given what is shown in the game, the very intent of firing the Sun Station should have lead to the results being had 22 minutes earlier, so the simple fact they didn't get the info was a hint the Sun Station was not going to work.

Variant A seems to make the most sense to me, but I'm honestly not too sure

Me either lol, I read every Nomai text in the game and can't figure it out.

@@OrphanMartian we just need to look at the last loop for answers, upon grabbing the core and deactivating the project, the hatchling had previously received memories that never could have gone through the atp black hole since it was disabled
Meaning variant a is 100% the answer, though its still a little messy to think about...

@@leedlelel2373 I'm still not sure lol, because if those memories were sent back, they must have still occurred in some timeline, right? And if all those loops failed, that means everyone who wasn't connected to the ATP just dies repeatedly. And since the statues don't connect to anyone until the right loop, what about the very first loop where the probe sensed nothing? The Nomai would activate the Sun Station, blow it up, send the probes data back in time, but from their POVs they would all just die.
These are the things that keep me up at night.

@@OrphanMartian Depends which rules the ATP violates: If cause must precede effect then the Sun Station fired. If effect must follow cause then everybody died (even if it was after the information was sent back). There is no reason that these rules would be violated (other than the fact it requires an alternative reality to exist) so I assume that is what happened. If it is impossible for an alternative reality to exist then causes are not required for effects to happen. These same questions are relevant to the question of how the universe began.

@@kevinscales That's my line of thinking. Our consciousness is basically jumping between alternate realities, while everyone who isn't part of the ATP just dies. That's a really messed up thing to think about, I can see why the game kind of glosses over it.
