"We" and "Us" still mean more than one When these terms are used by royalty it describes the lineage of the royal family, in a democracy it's "we the people". Allah created everything you see and everything you don't see with a word! The word that leaves Allah's mouth is His living word. Alive with Allah's Spirit as Allah imparts His Spirit into His word. Peter Usakah I think you’re confusing what he’s saying and thinking that immediately after each verse, or place where plural is mentioned, it should switch to the singular. If you look at the verses you put you’ll see that they continue in plural when it’s on the same subject matter but immediately after, or before the subject matter, the singular is used. So for the first verse you quoted, you’ll continue to read in the plural until you reach 15:25 “It is your LORD who will gather them all together: HE is all wise, all knowing” For the second one you quoted, the verse immediately before is singular 16:42 “They are the ones who are steadfast and put their trust in THE LORD” For the third you quoted, you’ll continue to read until you reach 21:19 “Everyone in the heavens and earth belong to HIM” You’ll see that when the verses continue on a particular subject the same pronoun is used but when the point is made, it switches to singular. Or like the second verse you quoted, it’s before. Please check the passages and verses above and I hope it brings some clarity. All the best
A king will only say thus we have declared unless he has a council, God doesn't have a council, so the WE being used still to me refers to as more than one. You said always after the word (WE) is used a singular word for god is used to clarify it is talking about one and not more, But in surah 50:38 it says; Indeed we created the heavens and the earth and everything in-between in six days, and we were not even touched with fatigue. This verse is definitely not being plural but rather describing more than one. I shouldn't think it be hard for the writings to have just said I created the heavens and earth in six days. This reminds me or the trinity in the bible if I'm honest, in genuses 1:26 it says let us make man in our image and likeness, in vs 27 it says and God created man in his image. It went from more than one to plural to show you they are equal. It actually would make sense now seeing this. In quran 66:12 it says we blew into her our spirit, our meaning more than one. Also jesus not having a father and coming directly from the breath of Allah means he would be the substance of Allah's breath, meaning he is also supernatural having not even a normal birth. I personally believe there is a lot people are confused about and they are refusing to see what to me is very clear. Just my point of view of what I see and I am seeing, and what makes sense to me and is clear.

Since Quran is the word of Allah in Arabic, and هو is used as a symbol or sign of authority just as نحن (We) is also used as a authority. Allah is the King, the Majestic, Ultimate authority, and thus Arabic language uses the male pronouns, and plural pronouns to demonstrate authority. Just like in this world monarchs and kings refer to themselves as, "We order this," "We decree," etc..
I always thought we meant God and his angels in the qur'an because it is known that the angels do much of gods work and even bring wrath to humans if God wills it. So therefore, isn't the we God and the angels? Like we molded you from clay? We brought Idris(Enoch) to a high place? Please consider the matter for a moment. Who came first? God or mankind? Obviously it's God. So, who copied who? Think. And have you ever read an Injil that wasn't changed by human hands? With all those versions, how do you know that what you read in the Injil is words from God or from a mere human? Allah promised us that the words of the Quran can never be changed by humans and I believe Him.
‘It’ commonly refers to an animal or object but it can also refer to gender neutral people. At the same time, people sometimes refer to their animals or objects as ‘he’ or ‘she’. Very valid. ‘He’ is gender neutral in Arabic but can also refer to male. When my brothers are happy that their sports team won a match they say ‘we won’. But my brothers didn’t win, they just said ‘we’ to show delight. Therefore pronouns are important BUT a unique context can change them.
To be honest.... the Bible has been written & rewritten by so many different ppl ex... King James wrote his own version...ppl have put the word of God into their own words to try to make sense of what they have read in previous scriptures...and there is a New Testament.. which is bizarre. Seems like the Old Testament was extremely similar to the Torah which was changed and altered by man as well.... in addition to this man has removed scriptures and chapters from the Bible... example... during slavery certain scriptures were taken out of the Bible... to be honest. Most Africans were Muslims before being kidnapped and shipped here to the USA and sold as slaves... then were forced to covert to the western religion of Christianity and stripped of our culture, language, religion, and way of life.. I don’t believe Jesus called himself God. The main thing I don’t understand about Christianity is that Christians are taught to worship one God and practice monotheism but then believe that Jesus, God, and the Holy Spirit are the trinity and are one God but three different entities... they also believe God is the father of Jesus. God is no father, no human, he is the CREATOR!!!! Humans are just another creation of Allah... the trinity sounds like a huge contradiction. Hence the reason I inverted to Islam, bc nothing ever made more sense. All of my questions were answered after learning about Islam. Everything that didn’t make sense to me as a Christian was cleared and answered with ease. The biggest confusion I had with Christianity was believing that the devil was an angel. I couldn’t fathom how an angel could sin. I thought they were the purest of the pure when I was Christian. After doing so research the Bible stated that Angels once had free will to sin. I think that this can be very confusing for many people because if this is supposedly "God's words" then why wouldn't people take things literally?? Nice try. But since Islam is so proud on Allah being absolutely ONE, and ridiculing Christianity's concept of a three-in-one God, why is being plural MORE majestic according to Allah?!? I personally believe that the plurality comes from the way God spoke in the Hebrew Bible, e.g. in Genesis Chapter 1: "in the beginning God (=Elohim =plural) created (singular form verb) the heavens and the earth". Later around verse 26 God says: "Let Us make men in our image and according to our likeness..." It seems in copying holy texts for his "revelation", Mohammed adopted the style in which the Bible (and possibly Talmudism) speaks about God. In the Bible, God reveals himself as both singular (There is only 1 God), as well as having 3 distinct personalities: 1) God/Father, 2) Jesus/Son/Word of God and 3) the Holy Spirit. In the Quran you will find a shadow of this as well: 1) Allah, 2) Jesus is Kalim Allah, Word of God, born of virgin, and 3) Ruh, the spirit of Allah. Yet Allah claims oneness?!? So is his word, the quran NOT eternal/uncreated? So is his spirit created? I just want to encourage muslims reading this: don't discard Christianity as truth before you have read and compared it. The Quran speaks HIGHLY of the Thora and the Injil (Gospels), claiming preservation and inspiration of them. The only reason Muslims claim its corrupted, is because their own corrupt book is full of contradictions against the Bible, which is the only true, preserved Word of God, and also warns for false prophets to come (see Matthew 7:15 and other places). And the use of the pronoun "He" is a grammatical he, not designating male gender, since Allah has no gender. It is neither "He" nor "She" literally. The Quran is limited to the grammatical rules of classical Arabic. Which has no neutral pronoun. For modern English translations, I would like to see "It" (a neutral pronoun) used since it is more close to the actual nature of Allah. Since English has different grammatical rules, we can use them to enhance our understanding.

I already explained, Allah uses 'We' as in a royal term. You are restricted by your understanding of the English language. You already set your mind the term we is equal to plural. Nouman said in the video, for word such as hot. Example, 'the weather is hot' and 'that game was hot'.

@beensolongg I should have clarified that in Arabic, there is no "it". Everything is either masculine or feminine, even inanimate objects, just like in Spanish, for example. Oh, and the third rule that makes something feminine is that the word ends in ة So, since there is no "gender free" pronoun in Arabic, either "he" or "she" has to be used. So when I say La Mesa, in Spanish, that doesn't make the table a girl, just like using "هو" in Arabic doesn't make Allah a "boy".

Galatians 2:20 I watched it, he basically says that because Allah refers to himself using the plural of majesty, it therefore means that the triune God is superior because it refers to itself as a plurality and it actually is a plurality unlike Allah. This is a weak objection because David Wood assumes that plurality is superior to singularity when it is not. The plural of majesty is simply used to convey greatness, it is a literary device. His argument is as ridiculous as me saying that because the word “excellent” has two l’s and Allah has two l’s that it means Allah is superior. It’s arbitrary. Also, by David Wood’s own logic, he’d have to say that polytheism is greater than monotheism since plurality is superior to singularity.

So yes according to Islam polytheism is probably better than monotheism but in Christianity we actually believe in one God expressed in a Trinity. I believe the Christians have a far better argument for the Plurality of God .
I always thought it was because Allah has angels that are his servants and they do everything that he commands. Specially the 4 great angels which is why he uses we. Allah knows best

Who is "We" refer in the Qur'an exactly ? Is that mean there are Angels or any other things that we don't know in the ALLAH's Kingdom so ALLAH use "We" ? Like president says "We have information ..." Like when God say We, I thought God was including Himself and the Angels, but when I read like in Surah Al-Baqarah verse 34, it states "And when We said to the angels, 'Prostrate to Adam'; they prostrated except Iblees. Peter Usakah I think you’re confusing what he’s saying and thinking that immediately after each verse, or place where plural is mentioned, it should switch to the singular. If you look at the verses you put you’ll see that they continue in plural when it’s on the same subject matter but immediately after, or before the subject matter, the singular is used.
So for the first verse you quoted, you’ll continue to read in the plural until you reach 15:25 “It is your LORD who will gather them all together: HE is all wise, all knowing”
For the second one you quoted, the verse immediately before is singular 16:42 “They are the ones who are steadfast and put their trust in THE LORD”
For the third you quoted, you’ll continue to read until you reach 21:19 “Everyone in the heavens and earth belong to HIM”
You’ll see that when the verses continue on a particular subject the same pronoun is used but when the point is made, it switches to singular. Or like the second verse you quoted, it’s before. Please check the passages and verses above and I hope it brings some clarity. All the best

This verse is definitely not being plural but rather describing more than one. I shouldn't think it be hard for the writings to have just said I created the heavens and earth in six days.
This reminds me or the trinity in the bible if I'm honest, in genuses 1:26 it says let us make man in our image and likeness, in vs 27 it says and God created man in his image.

In quran 66:12 it says we blew into her our spirit, our meaning more than one. Also jesus not having a father and coming directly from the breath of Allah means he would be the substance of Allah's breath, meaning he is also supernatural having not even a normal birth.

In arabic there are two genders which are He and she. So when it is translated in English it becomes He.
‘It’ commonly refers to an animal or object but it can also refer to gender neutral people. At the same time, people sometimes refer to their animals or objects as ‘he’ or ‘she’. Very valid. ‘He’ is gender neutral in Arabic but can also refer to male.
When my brothers are happy that their sports team won a match they say ‘we won’. But my brothers didn’t win, they just said ‘we’ to show delight.
Therefore pronouns are important BUT a unique context can change them.

Seems like the Old Testament was extremely similar to the Torah which was changed and altered by man as well.... in addition to this man has removed scriptures and chapters from the Bible... example... during slavery certain scriptures were taken out of the Bible... to be honest. Most Africans were Muslims before being kidnapped and shipped here to the USA and sold as slaves... then were forced to covert to the western religion of Christianity and stripped of our culture, language, religion, and way of life.. I don’t believe Jesus called himself God. The main thing I don’t understand about Christianity is that Christians are taught to worship one God and practice monotheism but then believe that Jesus, God, and the Holy Spirit are the trinity and are one God but three different entities... they also believe God is the father of Jesus. God is no father, no human, he is the CREATOR!!!! Humans are just another creation of Allah... the trinity

Everything that didn’t make sense to me as a Christian was cleared and answered with ease. The biggest confusion I had with Christianity was believing that the devil was an angel. I couldn’t fathom how an angel could sin. I thought they were the purest of the pure when I was Christian. After doing so research the Bible stated that Angels once had free will to sin. I think that this can be very confusing for many people because if this is supposedly "God's words" then why wouldn't people take things literally??
Why does this God make itself more like equal to all by calling itself "We", I don't understand. We is used when people in a group work together, not when you're trying to make a point that people should listen to you and you only. If god is giving words to have different meanings then the whole book shouldn't be taken literally.

I personally believe that the plurality comes from the way God spoke in the Hebrew Bible, e.g. in Genesis Chapter 1: "in the beginning God (=Elohim =plural) created (singular form verb) the heavens and the earth". Later around verse 26 God says: "Let Us make men in our image and according to our likeness..."
It seems in copying holy texts for his "revelation", Mohammed adopted the style in which the Bible (and possibly Talmudism) speaks about God.
In the Bible, God reveals himself as both singular (There is only 1 God), as well as having 3 distinct personalities: 1) God/Father, 2) Jesus/Son/Word of God and 3) the Holy Spirit. In the Quran you will find a shadow of this as well: 1) Allah, 2) Jesus is Kalim Allah, Word of God, born of virgin, and 3) Ruh, the spirit of Allah. Yet Allah claims oneness?!? So is his word, the quran NOT eternal/uncreated? So is his spirit created? I just want to encourage muslims reading this: don't discard Christianity as truth before you have read and compared it. The Quran speaks HIGHLY of the Thora and the Injil (Gospels), claiming preservation and inspiration of them. The only reason Muslims claim its corrupted, is because their own corrupt book is full of contradictions against the Bible, which is the only true, preserved Word of God, and also warns for false prophets to come (see Matthew 7:15 and other places). Bless you all, may you find the Lord Jesus, the Name by which all men MUST be saved by forgiveness of their wicked sins, committed against a loving, but just God.

I have these same feeling and I can’t seem to shake it. Why wouldn’t Allah give credit to his prophets and angels by using the word “we”. It’s an honor to them bc they were destined to bring revolution to men. He refers to himself as I before or after every “we” to affirm that he is the only one worthy of worship but surely he would honor the best of his creations in the holy Quran

And the use of the pronoun "He" is a grammatical he, not designating male gender, since Allah has no gender. It is neither "He" nor "She" literally. The Quran is limited to the grammatical rules of classical Arabic. Which has no neutral pronoun. For modern English translations, I would like to see "It" (a neutral pronoun) used since it is more close to the actual nature of Allah. Since English has different grammatical rules, we can use them to enhance our understanding.

I already explained, Allah uses 'We' as in a royal term. You are restricted by your understanding of the English language. You already set your mind the term we is equal to plural. Nouman said in the video, for word such as hot. Example, 'the weather is hot' and 'that game was hot'.

@beensolongg I should have clarified that in Arabic, there is no "it". Everything is either masculine or feminine, even inanimate objects, just like in Spanish, for example. Oh, and the third rule that makes something feminine is that the word ends in ة So, since there is no "gender free" pronoun in Arabic, either "he" or "she" has to be used. So when I say La Mesa, in Spanish, that doesn't make the table a girl, just like using "هو" in Arabic doesn't make Allah a "boy".
So The Arabic term Allah uses to talk about himself is neutral it has no gender. So we can't translate it. Does that mean we aren't restricted to saying he? Whenever I think of Allah I think of a masculine figure because I've always said he/ him which is wrong because Allah is nor masculine or feminine so in the English language shouldn't we be able to address Allah as both he or she?

Galatians 2:20 I watched it, he basically says that because Allah refers to himself using the plural of majesty, it therefore means that the triune God is superior because it refers to itself as a plurality and it actually is a plurality unlike Allah. This is a weak objection because David Wood assumes that plurality is superior to singularity when it is not. The plural of majesty is simply used to convey greatness, it is a literary device. His argument is as ridiculous as me saying that because the word “excellent” has two l’s and Allah has two l’s that it means Allah is superior. It’s arbitrary. Also, by David Wood’s own logic, he’d have to say that polytheism is greater than monotheism since plurality is superior to singularity.

Who is "We" refer in the Qur'an exactly ? Is that mean there are Angels or any other things that we don't know in the ALLAH's Kingdom so ALLAH use "We" ? Like president says "We have information ..." That's what I was thinking too. Like when God say We, I thought God was including Himself and the Angels, but when I read like in Surah Al-Baqarah verse 34, it states "And when We said to the angels, 'Prostrate to Adam'; they prostrated except Iblees. He refused and was arrogant and became among the rejecters." . So I guess God uses "We" to speak for Himself. Or there might be other creatures of God in God's Kingdom where God order that specific creature to tell the angels to prostate to Adam. I'm so confuse.
