This 1989 ATCC race was known as 'The Fiery Crash That Stopped The Race' & for some Australian Television Network stations around Australia, including here in Perth, they went straight to their Seven Nightly News bulletins before this 1989 ATCC race at Lakeside in Queensland re-started & this was the fifth year of Channel 7's coverage of the ATCC in 1989.
I remember watching this when it happened.......but i think Ch7 sydney went to the news before the the race re-started. Just utter madness flying through their at those speeds.
Proper racing! real cars none of ur made to be race cars tht we have nowadays, put a cage in it proper suspension and brakes tune engine ,turn up the boost and hit the track, and see how long it lasts lol
