Edgardo was exhausted. His feet dragged along the dirt on his walk home. He had gotten no sleep and stress was getting the best of him. Some of his cattle were ill and he worried their condition would only decline. He thought that day couldn’t get any worse. But when a shadow fell upon them, and his friend screamed, he knew today wasn’t going to be a normal day. And when he looked up, he couldn’t believe his eyes.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That was a beautiful story. When I was a Junior or Senior in High School, I found a Robin that fell out of it’s nest and brought it home. I talked to a Vet on how to care for it and she grew up and I became her parent of sorts. Once she had tail feathers that were full grown, I started bringing her outside and she would follow me around the yard and lay in the grass if I was doing anything near by. I remember laying out on a lawn chair (it was Summer 1983 or 84) and she would lay in my lap, I even have a picture of that, so cute. We called her “DB” , something my Dad called her for falling out of the nest (dumb bird). She started flying up into the trees but would come back down to eat less and less. Since she learned to whistle from me, her chirp was like no other Robin, it was sort of backwards from what a normal Robin call was, odd but distinctive. She came back to our yarn three years in a row, I would hear her unique call, but she wouldn’t come down anymore. That was it, she didn’t come back the next year so something happened. Makes me happy to know I brought up a Robin, and I was glad to see she lost her trust of humans, that wouldn’t be safe for her in the wild. But I want to believe that she would sing her funny sounding Robin call from the tree tops just to say hi to me, great experience.

This is only true because the dog is not intelligent enough to comprehend concepts of purpose and individual ideological beliefs and principles and being able to judge like humans do. If they did your opinion about them would change entirely. Not forgetting animals can be ferociously ruthless like humans as well, as is required to survive in the wild or be dominant in a group
Humans also have the ability to emulate the mental state of many domestic animals, having a mindset where prejudice and ego is foreign and being in the present moment constantly or being passionately sincere in all actions regardless of circumstances.

Yes, there are 500 California Condors now. They had the breeding program set up at the L.A. Zoo. They currently have one female that's lived there for the last 16 years I believe. They use her as an educational animal because she cannot fly correctly due to an injury. She does free fly in their educational show but doesn't soar high in the shy she stays close to the ground. They are majestically beautiful and their size is impressive. I've seen some tagged from the breeding program in Tehachapi.

He's increasing a female condor's chance at living a long life with him being a steady source of food when she can't get any by herself. It would be amazing if one or two of her chicks become friends with her savior as well. Hopefully they don't visit all at once after the first few visits.
Also now there's a place a small team of biologists can get a chance to study a condor with his permission.

Those cows with curly fur look so cute. He must have imprinted on her. And no doubt she wanted to say hello and show her thanks for being taken care of. Animals know who helped them and showed them mercy and comfort. Animals do have brains after all. One day a block from my house, a big brown vulture was calmly walking down the side of the street, he looked at me, I was driving, and he shrugged his shoulders, hopped up on to the sidewalk, and walked on into the woods. Calm as could be, with out a care in the world, just out for a stroll.

And I have a cat itty-bitty she walks on a leash and she wears the tutu she and she taught General how to use a bird litter Bowl instead of the bottom of the cage she used to work with me and Home Health Care.

When my wife was nine years old she found an injured pigeon. She named him Penny. Against her parents' advice she insisted on nursing him back to health. Marguerite helped him to fly, and one day he just kept going and disappeared.
A year later, Penny returned and perched on a rail on Marguerite's porch. He brought his mate with him, but she stayed a safe distance away. Marguerite and Penny had a fond reunion for about five minutes. Then Penny flew away with his mate, never to return. That was the first of three of what I call "miracles" Marguerite performed with animals. Since Marguerite was Catholic, I would sometimes kid her about applying for sainthood. Occasionally, I would call her Saint Marguerite.

I had a sighting of two such birds in New York of all places, no not the city, in Central New York just about in the middle of the state near the village of Frankfort. A friend and I were woodchuck hunting along the Mohawk River when we see two giant birds with bald heads with about ten to twelve foot wing spans slowly flying east over the river about thirty to forty feet above the water. A truly amazing site. We both knew these two birds did not belong in New York and wondered what in the hell they were doing here. Someone else had to have seen them but we never heard anything on the news or papers about them. I was about sixteen at the time which dates it back to around 1969. When I watched this video and about the 5 minute 20 second mark looking at the size of the bird compared to the guy that's what tells me it had to be condors we saw. The only place in the United States where they live is California as far as I know. That's a 3000 mile journey. Call me nuts or mistaken but I know what I saw and the bald heads and shear size of those two birds has led me to my conclusion as to what they were. It was one of the most amazing sites I have ever seen in the wild.
