Could you have used blue tape on the tile to make a clean straight line with the caulk?

of course. this is pretty shoddy work. takes two seconds to put some tape around that opening to make it look nice.

You described my problem. I decided to butter coat the area during winter hoping to penetrate the cracks and stop leakage now. Outside temp is 50f.

How long will this last? Do you need to reapply periodically, and if so, how often? Or is this a "permanent" fix?

If you used blue painters tape you could make straight lines. And use a wet rag and finger to smooth out the adhesive. It will look sweet!

Throat skimmer is that the same placement of the neck just wondering. I paid for Ieak detection and found out it was leaking from both skimmers of the pool on the neck of the skimmers?

Does this work on small cracks around returns & steps ?

not likely because if it is a gunite pool, more than likely the plaster is cracked
