Chris is right about SSI and SSDI, it takes forever to get it. I finally got SSI in December after waiting over10 months. I'm still waiting on SSDI. I'm blessed to have my daughter to help me with paying my bills. If she wouldn't have helped me, I would have been on the streets. Thank you for being a blessing to the homeless.

I feel so bad for Chris. He'd clearly do anything for his cat but he can't seem to help himself. Anyone know a SS/disability attorney in the Tucson area who'd be willing to help him out pro bono to get his benefits back?

@@OssoLily-ix5vz You are right! Ivenoticed the same thing! Things won't happen magically, you got to do your part to make things happen. I applied for my disability 3 different times and I finally got it 2 years ago! I know it's frustrating, but you got to keep trying!
@@manuelochoa9266You’re absolutely correct! It took me 3 years to get SSD! I had to hire an attorney in the last year, it still took another year to actually receive a check! And I was age 60 and had 3 Doctors statements I was disabled! It’s ridiculous, completely ridiculous!

It is sad Chris would rather complain about his problems than attempt to solve them. $1200 is more than many people that worked get from SS. The cat isn't going to write the letters or make the calls to get his benefits back😢

Chris is right...disability DOESNT CARE TO FIX THEIR WRONGS...TOOK me almost 6 years, 3 and a half with an atty, and FINALLY a kind judge ACTUALLY looked at my 3inch health issues file and almost 6 years of ss screwing me over, appologized to me in court for what i was put thru, ordered me to be paid all my backpay, and put on disability immediately only to have 2 caseworkers screw me over, and my appeal was denied and now at 63 homeless... 😢
Life can be sad for pets also❤

I use the Aux button on my DJI drone to drop off $10 gift cards and i copy motivational quotes from children with my drone the homeless people in my area love it .

I am going to be 76 in a few years and I think I have good views. I do not feel that Chris is ugly at all. I do think Buddy needs a bath and maybe a Vet check since she is 14 years. Besides that, she looks good. When I have taken my cat to the Vet many times, he told me that cats hide their pain unless it is really bad.
If Chris doesn't think he can survive another outdoor summer, why won't he go to his family? They clearly want to help him. Is it a pride issue, or guilt?
She was in the Humane Society that probably stressed her out so much, she’s old. This is sad to see you can tell Chris loves his cat.

It would be far harder on an old cat to lose her Dad. She'd probably give up in a shelter & most people want a kitten. She loves him & is used to her life with him. She probably finds her carrier a safe place like many pets do & they have to sit in them all day while their owners are at work.
Maybe pick up a collar & leash for her if she doesn't have them?

Chris had a check for $1200 and he is homeless???? Do they have subsidized housing in AZ???? Poor guy, wish him the best..😍
In Arizona, subsidized housing takes 5 years or longer once you file the application. If you don't take the living quarters for any reason, you get put back to the end of the list and have to wait again. I know someone who refused housing because the place was not handicap accessible and they were put back on the waiting list. $1200 is not a lot of money with the economy today.
Chris needs a short back and sides, and a shave! Then he has to get his backside home to see his family! Tell him Dawn said! 😂😅❤

Christina lives on the streets with Anthony. She does work from time to time for some of her "regulars", house work mostly

Where are you? Is everything OK?
Everytime you walk into that wash/creek area I flash on my research about native Americans in AZ. I see those people there today doing the same thing, trying to live.
They endure the same struggles for food and shelter, for health and to maintain family connections, they struggle to survive.
They also endure the law enforcement woes and resident's ire, as well as their charity.
It just goes to show you, we are all one.

Just FYI if he was determined to be fully disabled he would stay on that until he switches to Social Security. Here in CA the rate stays the same. Take him to the Social Security Administration office if you can Michael. Just a suggestion ❤️.

Sadly, Chris is not lying about disability. I applied in November 2022 after an aneurysm left me unable to continue working. I finally got a check in August 2023. And it was only back paid from May. I still can't get an answer why. Thank God I had some savings and an amazing daughter. Without those things, I could have ended up 64 years old, oxygen dependent, and homeless.
SSDI doesn't kick in until 5 months after approval- retroactive to the date you applied. Your application took longer than the 5 month waiting period therefore you got back pay to April/May. For example, if you applied in November and were approved in Jan, you would still have to wait 3 more months to start getting paid and you wouldn't get any back pay. Hope this makes sense!💗
@Michele_catmommy67 I understand that this is how the system runs. My point is that asking a disabled person to wait 5 months or more for benefits is inhumane. Most people live check to check and do not have 5 months of extra money saved up. Politicians have no problem making sure their pay, healthcare, and perks are top notch and adjusted yearly. They do, however, preach small government when it comes to taxpayers being able to utilize services when needed. If they would stop spending millions studying homelessness, maybe they could actually solve the problem. The same is true for healthcare, VA service's, and quality of life assistance for the elderly.
@@MaryCoffey-pn9zv I understand! I went the entire year of 2017 with no income while waiting on my SSDI. Luckily I had a little money saved as well as my parents' help - but it was tough! I hope Chris can get his benefits started again. (Also, I was just trying to explain why you only got back pay to May. Your 5 month waiting period was Nov to March. So benefits started in April but is paid a month behind)💗

I am so worried about his Kitty! If she is panting due to the weather that is very dangerous. Especially with her being a senior. What can be done to help? Can he go to a hotel for a few days at least if you get enough donations? And I am sure it would be good for him to get out of the heat as well and get a shower.

Iv watch a heap of your videos mate I think your really think you are doing a really good thing & you have encouraged me to start doing it to on a smaller level. I have to say though I don't think giving them smokes is a good idea please maby you could re think about it or ask some good character friends or pray to God to see if you still feal if it's a good idea or not. Who are you take care of the homeless people they better than I do and I have a reading problem. I have accessibility turned on my phone. I use my keyboard microphone to dictate my words. I also use Google translator. Life has been rough for me. I’m not homeless or anything. I do have a place to live, but I freeze the death deer in the winter time. I stay cooped up in my bedroom with Electric. I have no family really cares about me.
