- 15 tooth Max-torque clutch vs 12 tooth/top speed/Predator 212
Tested to see what top speed the Coleman cc100x minibike would achieve with a 12 tooth Max-torque clutch and then swapped the 12 tooth for a 15 tooth and compared the difference.

Yeah that made a big difference.
Ya, it did!
Wow. Also another dead end link for the clutch. Good job bud.
He man, i really love your channel❤ great info, great delivery. Good stuff! Peace😊
Awesome again
It's gonna fly given the ability to do so. I tried this with a 74t split sprocket and it was great when it finally hooked up. Big benefit on longer rides is that you can achieve the speeds the 12t does (and more) but at a lower rpm. Toss a black spring in one and you should engage at a higher rpm to improve the "launch program "😃.
wat about the 13 tooth max torque on a 65 rear thats wat im thinking i just ordered one im just curious if it has the key in it
@@Cruizerdoesit that's going to be 5:1 and a little bit of work on the clutch. I'd have to check but I know what you mean.
@@fatbuddycat i still got the 74 stock sprocket tho so i can pop that on to balance it out right
@@fatbuddycat this cheap 12tooth clutch been doing good tho i really cant complain never had a max torque so i chose the 13 to start with
@@Cruizerdoesit I just ordered another 12t for my next build and now I'm running ratios through my head wondering if I should have tried a different number....wouldn't be confusing but I want to run a jackshaft on a small tire with 7k rpm at the hornet release 😅.
How easy is it to tap those shafts? That would help alot for easy mods! Nice tracking the numbers! I have a few of those clutches, interesting to see how much extra you got out of the other clutch
Any info you can share on your jack shaft delete parts especially tensioner? If it is in a video, can you point me in the right direction?
Your neighbors must think your nuts🍸I'm that guy in my hood...🤣🤣🤣
They probably do, but I like being different LOL
Sheeesh! I’m gonna get one of these if my parents let me!
Is that billet rod on the stock crank and stock piston ? And what’s that rods part number and cam number ? Awesome speed !
I have a briggs and stratton 950 series on a doodle bug with a 12 tooth clutch and a 75 tooth rear sprocket going about 40 to 45 mph. What clutch size and rear sprocket size would be best?
You no your going fast when you can't speak till you stop a few seconds 💯.
Ya no lie , that bike feels like 100 when your going 60 lol
Mad scientist at work
Lol
I was wondering if running a 10 tooth on the front and a 51 tooth on the rear would get the same results considering it is still a 5-1 ratio. ? Thank you
What’s a good clutch and sprocket set up for 70mph on a Coleman ct200 u ex 224 stock stage 1
I have a 224 stock stage 1 with 10t clutch And 50t rear sprocket . Tops at 63 if I changed to a 14t clutch and 40 sprocket would I gain more top speed hitting 70?
Good Job you smashed right thru the 60 mph barrier.
Ya, right on through it!
What do you get the clutch from
How do you put that speedometer/compass on the screen? I see a lot of videos with that. We do kart racing and I’d like to have that.

Can you make a video on adding links to chains? I can’t for the life of me get it to work, I mean I could use a bunch of master links but that seems unsafe lol
Does a bigger clutch also add torque. I have a ct100u that im trying to give more torque. Do you recomend switching from the 75 to a 65 tooth and a bigger clutch in the front?

Do you have a tutorial on removing torque converter using the 12 tooth clutch need to do this to my 200 camo bike. Thanks
The video coming out Saturday ,I take off a clutch and install a torque converter .
I’ll do a video on taking the torque converter off soon .
I’d like to see the 0-40mph difference on the 12 to 15t. I have a mm80 with basically the same pred but with 18lb springs but I have a torque converter and 12-75 gearing. I just love all the options you have available.
By the way what size jets are you running in the carb? Im experimenting with mine.
It has a 120 jet in it now.
Do u have a idea what pipe that is have same bike and a predator 212 want a center mount pipe like this one
tryna find the vid u did on the 10tooth clutch u know where u showed how to insall a keyway ... not like i need to but eventually i know im gonna have to do that keyway jazz to use the maxtorque clutches
I have stock 212pred. Stock carb. Straight pipe. 12t clutch 54 sprocket. Goin like 35ish.... Could putin a mikuni carb. And 15t clutch get me to 40mph ? You think 54 sprocket to low 75 was too torquey n topped off at like 25mph
It depends on tire height and weight of the rider etc . You could use a gear ratio calculator . You plug in tire height , gear size , clutch size ,engine rpm and it will spit out a speed .
Any canadians here upgrading the princessauto 212 powerfist motors? been wanting to order upgraded 212 predator parts for it but not sure if they fit, been looking for some info cant seem to find much and to order a predator to canada is a hassle
Question with just a clutch setup with no rear pulley or Torque Converter would you keep burning up clutches?
A standard Max-torque will last you a long time . Especially if you run a gear ratio around 6 to 1 give or Take because it doesn’t put a lot of strain on the clutch . Another thing too is if your running a common clutch like a 12 tooth , they are inexpensive. Cheap to replace .
Also the weight of the rider and tire size play a role in how long the clutch will last . I haven’t burnt out a clutch yet . I think it’s because I’m light weight .
im thinking of trying the max torque 13tooth have u tried it and does it come with a key in it

do you think ill have enough torque if i get a 60 tooth sprocket with a 12 tooth clutch? im not too worried about top speed as long as it goes atleast 25 or so

Do you like the max tourque clutches ? I just ordered one because my Hillard clutch got really rough
Yes, I have never had a problem with Max-Torque clutches.
@@Black66 thanks... How often do you grease or oil the center bushings?

Where did u get the 15t clutch
Is there any 15-16 tooth front sprocket for the stock 3 hp on the cc100x? Thinking about dropping the rear to a 65 tooth, and front to a 15-16
Yes, you can use a adapter on the shaft to put pretty much any clutch you want on there.
Be careful with gearing on the 3 hp. They dont have much torque . There is a point where the three horse won't have the torque to pull the gear. Or it will be super slow at getting to speed . That is why they gear them so low from the factory.
@@Black66 so what would you recommended for good torque and speed a 15t with the 75t rear or a 12t and the same in the rear? I want to make mine a little more torquey with keeping some decent speed I hit about 38 - 40 with the stock clutch and sprocket
What would be the best clutch and sprocket to get if I’m looking to go 60-70 on a 212cc stage 2 dirt bug mini bike??

I have a question I hope I can get some help I'm new to all this mini bike stuff and I'm highly interested in learning more about it I have a Mega Moto 80 with a 212cc predator engine non hemi with a 12 tooth clutch and a 75 tooth rear sprocket I only removed the screw governor by but not the governor from the inside of the engine everything is stock my speed is 35mph I just ordered a 14 tooth clutch will I get more speed?
You will get more speed but don’t be scared to internally remove the governor especially the one in the crank shaft cheapest way to make your engine more peppy without throwing money at it and port the heads for better throttle response
@@09l806 probably another 5 mph cause you’re removing centrifugal weight so it revs higher also you don’t need that high of a rear end sprocket cause it’ll top out so a 60 tooth sprocket will be faster when you’re already rolling cause you’re going from 20 to 40 faster I felt this on my go kart i got a 58 with a 12 tooth sprocket and the feeling from going from 35 to 60 is unreal feels like I’m flying
I got a 212 hemi and I put a stage 2 kit which has a billit connecting rod and fly wheel and a 265 hot cam with 26 pound valve springs. I ported the head and of course fully deleted the governer. Also put a 22 mm mikuni carb to make the throttle installation easier cause I wouldn’t have to mess with the stock throttle linkage which I found complicated. It’s a direct linkage from gas pedal to carb so with all that it made the motor super responsive and putting that engine on my sub 200 lb go kart makes the thing fly. But I got two rear end sprockets ones a 58 tooth to go fast on the streets and 72 tooth sprocket to do donuts in my backyard the 58 sprocket goes up to 60 mph and the 72 sprocket goes up to 45 and I got a 12tooth clutch sprocket.
Why not go a smaller rear sprocket? Might make a bigger difference in speed, but of course less acceleration
@black66 can you do a video on the 3d motorsports clutch on a 212?

I have a predator 212 with a stage 1 kit and 140 e tube with .36 jet with the govener still in it and I have a 10tooth clutch ans the stock sprocket that comes on the coleman ct200u-ex and with the adapter plate for the other sprockets and the take off was fast and the power was immediate but not fast maybe 25 to 30 but I also am 6'1 250 and it was a wheelie machine but last might I took the adapter plate off and put a bravex performance clutch on it 10 tooth and keep the stock sprocket I think it's a 50 or 52 tooth in the rear and then Ran a straight single Chain and the clutch started smoking when I tried to take off it had no power or rpm but when I got up to speed after like 8 seconds that thing was flying but what do I need to do to make it have more get up out the whole cause I mainly use mine for trail riding and with the setup i have it has no get up out the whole and why was my clutch smoking ?? Would love some feed back thank you
I really hope you’ve figured this shit out by now cuz I’ve only been into this for like 2 days and ion even have a bike but you need more teeth in the rear if your gonna be running 10 on your clutch look into a 72 or something but every tooth you add to your clutch essentially takes away 3 from your rear and you need more teeth in the rear for torque if you want more torque but want to keep the speed try switching to a 9 clutch 55 rear or 8 clutch and 57 rear this lets you take away some top speed but adds more torque so you will have more get up from the start
Hey can you help me with mine I got a preader 212 and I have a stage 1 carburetor and a exhaust it’s got a 12t clutch and 65t back it only tops out 30 any tips to get it faster
Switching to a 40 tooth rear sprocket should get you goin much faster
I have a stock BT200x mini bike. Right now I am hitting 26mph top speed with stock gearing. I am thinking of getting a 12 tooth clutch because straight chaining a big bike burns out the clutch. Do you think I could hit 30mph if I go from a 10 tooth clutch(26mph) to a 12 tooth clutch with stock jackshaft? I ride mostly street so if the acceleration is slightly slower I don't mind too much. Plus, after about 15mph the clutch is engaged anyway so It can't burn up then.
That will work, but it will definitely slow down acceleration. In a straight-chained bike, every tooth added to the clutch is like reducing the rear by 6 teeth. If the governor is not removed, just by doing that it will gain quite a few miles per hour. Check out my Playlist on the CT200U-EX. It will apply to your bike ruclips.net/video/X0SmAZJ6qW8/видео.html

@@Black66 I have a question
Torque converters have more mass and offer a degree of resistance, but have the obvious benefits of ratio changing from low to high speed. Straight chain clutch setups have lighter mass and simplicity. Considering a desired speed of 50 to 60 MPH, if you were building a strictly street bike, would you prefer the torque converter or centrifugal clutch straight chain setup?
It depends on the weight of the bike. On the bigger bikes like the CT200U-EX I like the torque converter. Especially with a built 212 On a smaller bike like a Mega Moto 80 or an Azusa bike I like a straight chain. The bikes are small and light enough that with a straight chain you can get plenty of low speed power and top speed.
@@Black66 : Are the smaller, lightweight bikes stable at higher speeds in excess of 50 and 60 mph? In your experience with a variety of bikes at high speeds, what do you think is the best choice for a fast street bike; the larger and heavier bikes with longer wheelbase or a smaller and lighter bike? Lighter bike with extended wheelbase?
@@donkeyhole2782 I like the Mega Moto 80 extended frame with the street tires for stability at high speeds. That is a smooth riding bike. The Doodlebug is realy stable at high speeds also. So you could fit a 15t and 18t without messing with the chain?? This video you said you didn’t have to and in the 18t you said the same.
Depending on the length of the chain and the tensioner, there have been quite a few situations where I didn't have to add or subtract chain. If I do, need to break chain, I just break out my trusty chain breaker. It makes quick work of shortening chain.
