    Thanks for taking the time to do these tests.
    IDK how much I can conclude until both are tested on a gear limited setup, at least where top speed is concerned.
    That said, I think the Ghost is arguably the best “bolt on” 212 for someone looking for 12ish HP.
    Naturally if you want to put time and parts into a “regular” 212 you’ll have a more powerful package.
    It’s all down to personal preference like anything. Your skills, budget, goals and how you value your time.

    Sweet bikes, nice job! Nylon cam gear and glue and screw flywheel are a deal breaker for me. You can get a ducar 212 with an intake and header exhaust upgrade for what you would pay for a ghost motor. You also get an aluminum flywheel rated to 10,000 rpm, adjustable jets on carb, stronger more reinforced crank case, and more torque and horsepower out the box, or get a wildcat 223 and a billet flywheel, both are better than going the predator route, and cost less and out perform the ghost, with a bigger bang for our buck...plus, its not a predator.

  • @baldbutton1983
    @baldbutton1983 2 года назад +4

    2 questions…
    1. How are you determining your RPMs?
    2. How do you tell the difference between valve float and the limit of the motor or gear?

    • @Black66
      @Black66  2 года назад +2

      Valve float is sputtering or cutting on and off at high RPM . Engines that reach the limit with no float will be at max RPM and stay there with no drama. They will simply not rev anymore.
      In some videos I use a tach for RPM, like in the 224 videos. Others I will use a gear ratio calculator.
      You plug in tire height, number of teeth on the clutch, number of teeth or the rear sprocket and the calculator will spit out the gear ratio, RPM, and speed.

    • @baldbutton1983
      @baldbutton1983 2 года назад +2

      @@Black66 I see. I asked about valve float because I’m at a loss as to why my predator will not get above 6800 rpm. It’s a heavy yard kart so I’m assuming it’s just the weight. I had .265 cam in before the .308 which actually reached about 300 rpms more than the .308, surprisingly. Can’t figure why I can’t reach the target rpm of 8400 the cam is supposed to reach

    You have to remember also the ghost is more user friendly for beginners just slap it on and go. The predator 212 you need all those tools and parts and know how. I think the ghost caters more to that. And the fact it's a stronger engine.

    • @Black66

    Where is he getting $500 for the standard predator? The regular 212 here is $149 and the ghost is $239

    • @Black66
      @Black66  Год назад

      I added approximately $350 worth of billet parts into the standard Predator. Add another $149 for the cost of the engine and you come out to around $500. The Ghost is $349 plus the header pipe and billet flywheel that I had to add to get rid of the rev limiter so it would have half a chance of competing with the standard Predator with billet parts. I have around $ 500 in each engine in total.

      @Black66  6 месяцев назад

      Remember, the prices on these engines don't always stay the same . That being said, even if the standard Predator comes out to a little more IMO I still think a billet Predator is a much better value.The Ghost is good but it has a cast rod and flywheel with a glued on magnet that should be changed out for safety. At least the flywheel.

    Why is everyone concerned about how fast they can go, I'm more interested about the torque so I can go off road and explore and Have a fun day go fishing on my bike, if I want to go fast on the road it will be in a car or big boy motorcycle.

    • @marshallzzzz
      @marshallzzzz 2 месяца назад +2

      That's the point, going fast on something thats not to be fast. You can use the same argument for going off road with them, they arent really capable for that. Why not get a quad or a dirtbike? Or maybe even bigwheel a dirt bike like how miny bikes are? Why not get a Can-Am at that point? It's because you dont need one to do the things you do. I just wanna build a sweet little daily driver that has some pep at the top end, I dont care to get to 30mph in 3 seconds, i'll tKe 6 seconds instead but give me 6 more and i'll be chillin at 50. Also, some people dont have enough money for a big bike, so they get mini bikes. Plenty of reasons brotha.

      depends on what motor you have and what mods you have as well. Usually people run 18lbs springs and it solves their float issues, but it adds wear on the internals due to higher rmp

    Does the 212 hemi make more hp? If so why does anyone buy the non hemi?

    • @Deucealive75
      @Deucealive75 2 года назад

      If the hemi does make more power it's not enough to notice without a stop watch or a dyno. The non hemi is easier for a guy who doesn't have machine tools in his garage to work with than the hemi. With a non hemi you don't even have to think or measure anything to get more compression and use a high lift cam. You can't do that with a hemi.
      Some guys have removed the hemi head and put on a non hemi head and thin head gasket for a bump in compression and more power than with the hemi head.
