    Love Gabby but hope they can come up with something a little more artistic before the Olympics. Dance is too collegiate.

      I definitely agree about the dance. Not Olympic appropriate imo.

    I really love Gabby, but this was boring and kind of awkward to watch. It's not about any of her skills, just that there was zero performance. I felt like I was watching the last full run-through routine of an 8 hour practice. She looked at the ground the whole time and didn't smile at all. It's a little unnerving. Even if she was tired, then fake it. For me, floor is the one event that you can put your full personality into and this wasn't her.

      TruBlu8 i agree, she hasn't looked like herself on floor since her comeback...in 2012 she was into the routine so it made it enjoyable to watch. I hope she can perform better on night 2

    I feel like she's holding back a lot. Maybe she'll unveil her upgrades by nationals or worlds. She did seem winded a bit, maybe it was just frustration since she seemed to struggle with her dance elements a tad bit.
    Side note: I loathe this music, or just the la la la la part.

    I don't understand why the score is so drastically different from her routine at Classics. I know this routine wasn't as strong as her classic routine but I though the scores should've been a little bit closer. Can someone explain if u know why please?

    • @SheaNDamon1829
      @SheaNDamon1829 8 лет назад

      +Brett526 Many of her dance elements were devalued because she fell out of her turns and didn't hit the correct position in her leaps. The dance elements are just as important as the tumbling.

    • @oldvideosvault9730
      @oldvideosvault9730 8 лет назад

      I know the value of dance elements and how they affect every routine but I guess ur right. Idk I know she's capable of more so it's kind of disappointing. Although night 2 was really good

  • @MakeItWayne15
    @MakeItWayne15 9 лет назад

    I actually don't think they credited her Ferrari. Her dance skills that she hoped to have counted were a double L turn(d), Memmel(d), ferrari(d), and a switch 1.5(d). She obviously didn't get the Memmel or L turns credited which would have brought her down to a 5.6 SV. But she has a switch ring leap(c) in the routine and instead of giving her credit for two b turns they would've counted the switch ring as a skill since it's a C and the turns were both B level when downgraded. They count your highest level skills. That means that her d score would be 5.7 but if they downgraded the Ferrari to maybe a split full(c) that would also bring her d score down to a 5.6.

    I love this more serious and mature Gabby but her dance elements were definitely a little off in this routine. I'm assuming she got devalued on both of her turns because she fell out of them.

  • @moniquetait6149

    She should have stayed with Chow I can only imagine how embarrassing and what a let down it would feel like to train and take a girl in from the other side of the country less then 2 years before the 12 games and put in all the time and work and her claiming he was her dream coach to then have him lead her to AA and team gold make history, in a interview after the games chow told her you still have so much more potential then she leaves and goes elsewhere what a stab in the back that would feel like to chow, and judging by nationals i think she should have stayed with chow.....

    • @moniquetait6149
      @moniquetait6149 8 лет назад +1

      +NastiaFan101take12 I think chow would feel awkward and embarrassed considering he worked so hard with her for her to just decide she needs another coach. I mean I'm no expert and people do what they need to do to get ahead and I love gabby I think she is incredible and so talented, I just feel sad for chow

    • @charliem6053
      @charliem6053 7 лет назад +2

      She didn't leave him. Apparently, Chow wanted Gabby's full focus and Gabby was not willing to do that. She wanted to write a book and make a movie and other things but most of all spend time with her family. Unfortunately, due to this Chow was not willing to trainher anymore.

    • @gymns411
      @gymns411 6 лет назад

      Actually that doesn't make any sense. Gabby's book was released Nov 2012, right after the Olympics and well before she resumed training since she took 2013 off. The movie was released February 2014 and likely was done months before. BUT Gabby didn't start training back with Chow until April 2014. These were actually all completed BEFORE Gabby resumed her temporary training with Chow. Therefore, you can mark that theory off. There is another theory that Coach Chow wanted a percentage of fees and stuff associated with Gabby's appearances when she came back, which is why SHE decides to find another coach.

    • @gymns411
      @gymns411 6 лет назад +1

      Why would he feel awkward and embarrassed? Chow coached her to the All-Around Gold. He did his job! Also, Chow only training Gabby two years before the 2012 Olympics, before that time she was training at Excalibur and really if you look at old vids she already had learned most of the skills. Chow fine-tuned them and upped the difficulty on bars and vault. However, it's important to note that a gymnast can change coaches at anytime! The coaches are doing their job for free they get paid by the gymnast for services rendered. If a gymnast decides that they need to change coaches then that's perfectly acceptable. I do feel that Gabby was at her best when she was with Coach Chow. In 2016 she was in great form for Rio, but I imagine she would have been 2x better under Chow.

      Looter Jr Doesn't matter what Gabby has won in the past. Simone is the defending world champion. Simone has better difficulty and execution than Gabby on all 4 events. Simone's worst day is better than Gabby's best.

    They didn't credit the double turn with leg at horizontal and the memmel, which lowers her d-score from 6.0 to 5.6 but what I don't understand is how they could have possibly credited her Ferrai!!! She's trying to upgrade her dance elements and make them all D+ which is smart, but its too much at the moment, and its giving her way to many problems and loads of deductions. Keep the turns but drop the Ferrari. (not trying to start an argument. I love Gabby to death, and am super impressed by her work all the other three events, but her floor's really gotta change if she wants to to be in the top 2 during quals at worlds)

    • @emsisrbc
      @emsisrbc 9 лет назад

      Super Gymnast With Biles and Raisman in the mix, it will be hard for her to make it into the floor finals.

    • @supergymnast9542
      @supergymnast9542 9 лет назад

      Ruth Carter I don't really think she'd be trying to make it to floor finals, considering that Maggie, Skinner and maybe Kyla would also outscore her if those people end up going to worlds. Gabby's medal in an event final would come from AA and maybe beam and bars... but i'm not sure about those two

    • @MilesBrick308
      @MilesBrick308 9 лет назад +1

      Super Gymnast I don't think Gabby will end up being an AA competitor at this point. She looks so fatigued by this last event and she was only 0.100 in front of Bailie Key in fifth, who actually has room to grow and mature still, while still trailing Nichols and Biles by a good margin. If Aly and Bailie had hit their beam routines on night one even marginally more so than they did, Gabby would've been in fifth place right now.

    • @MilesBrick308
      @MilesBrick308 9 лет назад

      ***** I don't think she'll be top two in the US when Nichols and Biles are involved. On night one she hit her bars, she hit her vault, and she hit her beam. All she messed up on was floor, and she would have to gain a full point before even tying with Nichols. Meanwhile, if Aly had stayed on the beam and kept that point she lost, she would have only been within .050 of Nichols and comfortably ahead of Gabby. I'll believe Gabby's upgrades when I see them consistently performed. But she looked winded on night one of a two-night competition by the fourth event, and that's not something Marta is going to want to see.

    • @amma777
      @amma777 9 лет назад

      ***** I guess a lot will depend on World selection camp and which gymnast actually upgrades. There are rumors flying around on upgrades but only two have consistently shown upgraded routines, Simone and Maggie, which I bet will be the two to make AA finals. AT THIS POINT I don't think Raisman, Key or Douglas are ready for AA. It will be interesting so see what Marta does. All three will make the team but the US NEEDS a bar worker with a start value of 6.5 or higher. Key is 6.1, Nichols is 6.0 and Gabby is 6.4! Both Key and Nichols need to upgrade or one of the AAers doesn't get used in favor of a bars specialist. The US will want to use 3 AA gymnasts as back up. Who ever gets regulated to specialist status remains to be seen. Its imperative that we send a specialist. Everyone knows what could happen if the US relies too heavily on their AAers!

  • @amma777

  • @withlove312

    She does seem fatigued, doesn't she? This was her last event. A regression from what she showed at Classics. She's still dropping the heel on her double L and she didn't get the Memmel round. That Ferrari, bah. What is it with Gabby and not hitting the ring position? She's a flexible gal.

    • @Se31298
      @Se31298 9 лет назад

      I think it was a mistake for her to leave Chow's. Everything she's been doing this year she mastered there, so we know this new coach isn't making her routines any more difficult. Plus she just seemed to have more spunk and charisma in her gymnastics.

    • @withlove312
      @withlove312 9 лет назад

      Se31298 That is a bizarre conclusion to come to. She came second at Classics and is currently third here. How are these results indicative of a problem? So far, her consistency has been better than what it was under Chow.

    • @Se31298
      @Se31298 9 лет назад

      I don't think its a matter of how she stacked up against the other gymnasts but more the fact that she hasn't improved since leaving chows. I'm not trolling or anything, just observing. I guess I'm a little biased though since Chow has produced 2 Olympic champions and this new gym is still yet to prove itself. It'll be interesting to see their progress.

    • @withlove312
      @withlove312 9 лет назад

      What are you talking about? She has improved. She wasn't that far into her comeback when she left Chow's so everything was pretty barebones.

    • @Se31298
      @Se31298 9 лет назад +5

      I guess I won't be convinced until she exceeds what she's done before. It seems foolish to me to leave the coach that made you Olympic all around champion though, without a doubt.
