Came here from Joe Mayo’s instagram post. Although I’m a big fan of his steep chipping approach, there is a ton of great info here and not overcomplicating like many teachers do. Golf is a better game for having people like you and Joe!
@@JamesRidyardGolfSi amigo. 4.27 and it's a bit dark in the back garden, but that's okay. Trying more of a tilt on the way back, then into a turn / tilt (extend) feel coming through. Another superb video.
Excellent thanks 👍. James, do you have or could you please do a video on shot options from a bare / muddy lie over a small bunker, short sided shot into a narrow (5m or so) green with another bunker opposite? Thanks
Hi Graham, while not exactly recreating what you're talking about this might help. ruclips.net/video/mmXLEc16LyU/видео.html In the meantime I'll add your request to my list
great info, if coming in steeper, will it dig more if the face is shut before and at impact, even when trying to rehinge? what camera are you using on the ground? thanks
Great ideas, any thoughts on those of us using game improvement irons and wanting to use 9 or LW to chip/run around green. Hot faces seem a challenge to feel/control????
The video you did with Coach lockey helped my strike a lot in terms of left shoulder down toward left foot. I have also combined that with practicing with a metronome at 62 bpm. Have you done much with a metronome what bpm would you recommend?
Interest thinking. Worth pointing out that being shallow in soggy winter conditions would require some pretty skilled hands. I often find myself just trying to slab down on it to avoid the chunk. But in summer conditions nipping it with a shallow feeling is amazing. But i think I do most of that out of instinct. That's for the tip
Hi Gareth, the issue you might have here is that I've given you options vs telling you one thing to try. Might take some figuring out but you'll get there

Thanks Brian!
Ditto!
How does this channel have less than 20k subs? Should be more like 20 million.
This information is absolutely amazing!!!! Keep up the great work!
This was an excellent demonstration that clarifies a lot! Thanks mate!
... thank you. Your content makes me want to go and practice whatever time of day it is. Night chipping anyone?!
Get out there!

FACTS. 👍
Thanks James. Your short game area has matured beautifully. Hope to see you there sometime!
Thanks Mark, it's getting there! Will keep improving it when we can

@@JamesRidyardGolf Thank you, that should work well, time to practise it!
Excellent video, really helpful to understand and improve my strike!!
Brilliant explanation!
Thank you
James have to say you're looking really buff mate! looking good brother!!
Been working on it, got too lean last year!
@@JamesRidyardGolf It's working, very sexy haha

It’s like the release isn’t an action toward the target but rather an action away from the ground 😮

BPM is variable but a 2:1 ratio often works well

I have the opposite problem when trying to get steep , I don’t chunk but boy can I thin one across a green
I get that one as a miss too, you're not alone!
Love the content. Shallow general needs to be more toe up while steep needs to be more shut face. Matchups !
Maybe but not necessarily!
Not sure I understood 1. What causes fat shots or 2. How to fix it. Which was the title of this video?
