Botswana is not a town
Gaborone population is around 250 000. Gaborone is surrounded by big villages. In the west of Gaborone it is a village called Mogoditshane with a population of around 90 000, Mmopane 25 000, Metsimotlhabe 11 000. In the east of Gaborone another Village called Tlokweng with a population of around 55 000. In south west of Gaborone a village called Gabane with a population of around 20 000. When driving around Gaborone, you will not notice whether you are still in Gaborone. There is no forest between Gaborone and these villages it is one thing. They have modern structures.
Thanks for the insight
This is not really true. Gaborone today consist of Gaborone itself, Mogoditshane, Phakalane, Tlokweng combined. Roughly around 280,000-300,000 population. the above sounds more like something that was googled.
@@lifeofdtw9694those places are not administered in Gaborone, what are you trying to say
@@TshumuKokgalagadi Actually they are... LOL. Gaborone has expanded in the past 20 years. Just as Broadhurst, Block 8, Phase 4, etc. didn't used to be part of Gaborone, it expanded. Gaborone when it began was simply around where Main Mall is, but as the city grows, so do the limits.
@@lifeofdtw9694 u clearly don't know what u talking about, mogoditshane falls under kweneng and tlokweng is south east.

Thanks. I had a lot of fun at Mokolodi. I think she will also.
Botswana is that one country that heals your soul and connects you to nature and good people. ❤

💯
Nice my brother I visiting Johannesburg this December.
Good time to visit
Thank you for visiting Gabs City, come again
My pleasure
I was there last year, i would visit every year if flights weren’t so pricey. I recommend the national museum, the old main square, Mokolodi nature park, crocodile safari, lion park safari, Lilly’s petting farm. Also a must see are the various shopping malls, always lots to do and see there. I missed out on the 3 statues and the horse riding at the Notwane dam
Though as we ran out of time
Thanks for the suggestions. I'll try those next time
Very nice.
Thanks
Nice content bro! Come to Maputo, Mozambique on October 4th, there’s an awesome festival at a beach called Ponta de Ouro

That country i so wish to visit
One of my favorite countries to visit 🇧🇼
Im going to AFrica after 50 days. And after watching this im sure gonna make Botswana for one of my destinations :D
That's cool. What countries will you be visiting?
If you can, do add Kenya to your itinerary. You will love it for sure.
already did sir, and coming for a second time, went last year also@@charlesmacharia7446
You literally went through everything we can do in Gabs in 3 days.
Because it's so tiny. Lol However, it's still one of my favorite cities.
Very nice country
Yes indeed
Next time you come around, give me a shout, lets give you the Botswana Paintball experience.
Thanks for the invite
You should visit Lusaka Zambia its 2:30 from Jobeg SA
I've been to Lusaka a few times. My next Lusaka video should be done the first week of July
....I grew up in this town. It was very peaceful, very safe friendly and welcoming. I would go to a supermarket at 02:00am and walk back home without feeling threatened. I wonder if the situation is the same today...
It's still very peaceful...but you're not going to find any supermarket open at 2am. They close pretty early.
@@travelconnect1 life has changed everywhere these days. Bet I must say Tswana people are/were very peaceful by nature. My best memories indeed.
My assistant told me there is no uber over there so which driving service did you use to get around? I was thinking about renting a car while im out there but i only have my US license, would my US licensr be enough to drive in botswana and not get screwed by the cops?
They have an app called In-Drive, which is similar to Uber. Except with In-Drive, you name your price and wait for a driver to except.
I sometimes drive my friends' cars when in town (I go about 4 or 5 tines a year now), but I don't know if it's legal or not. Lol.
@travelconnect1 thanks for the insight. Ima download the app, also do you think it'd be good for me to rent a car, because I was gonna rent a car at the airport
You can. It depends on how long you're going to be there, how many places you'll be visiting, etc.
@@devontetheonehello! I am a resident of Gaborone☺️The best taxi would be “Deluxe Taxi” everyone here takes that actually 😌 You can find the number on internet and you are good to go.
Correction: Night Clubs close at 6am.... and there are other clubs in Gabs including, CLOUD9, HorseShoe Lounge, United Lounge etc which also close at 6 in the morning.
Great Video though. Everything else is on point. Love It. Make a return someday...BW welcomes you🔵⚫⚪
Thanks. Maybe i'll try one of them this weekend

haha, they didnt take you to the after party clubs. I think you were with people who do not go to shady places, where the fun is
I don't know the city like that to be visiting "shady" places. Lol. But I hope to start visiting Gabs more often. Who knows, maybe i'll check them out someday. Thanks for watching!

Small town hurt me fr
You have to get out and see the world. Then you'll see how small Gabs really is. But with that said, it's one of my favorite cities.
The way you pronounce Gaborone 😂 I'm in Botswana right now. Was supposed to be a 2 week vacation. I've been here 4 months.
I love it there. I visit at least 4 times a year.

We’re already only a population of 2Million people in the whole country 😅. So we don’t define the size of our cities by population but by developments
Good 😊
Nice one small city and small population of 3 million people bw..
Gabs 3 million? I don't think that's accurate
@@travelconnect1 no but the whole botswana population yes Gaborone is around 300k...

How can i do it
Do what exactly?
Man i love your video, but i really struggled in the full sense of the word when i visited Botswana, and it breaks my heart having to say this because i think the people are generally nice, first of all the thing that really completely ruined it for me was the weather, Botswana is blazing hot man, its like i was in a 86 degree fahreinheit/ 30 degree celcious oven i felt that won’t lie, i love clear blue skies with a bit of white clouds i mean who doesn’t but the heat was serious i could barely walk in the sun for two minutes without gasping air really, the heat was beyond excessive, fun thing is that it rained on my last day in botswana in a little city cold francis town which is a border town between zimbabwe and Botswana and the weather was generally bad with light showers and grey skies and most people from Botswana were happy and the lady at the reception of the hotel i was staying in asked me if i was enjoying the good weather because it had been blazing hot🤷🏽 it is in that moment that i realised that the weather which europeans generally consider bad weather and that is grey dull skies and rain is actually considered good weather in botswana and perhaps places like namibia as well which are generally hot and dry for most of the country. In namibia however i enjoyed my stay in two cities and that is swakopmund and walvisbay, the weather is not consistant but its just lovely down there one moment its sun the next is windy and after an hour its a bit hot and humid and in the next 2 hours you got light rain showers and so i loved that but other places like kharibib, otjiwarongo, windhoek are generally depressing in terms of weather with temperatures as high as 88 degrees fahreinheit, i really enjoyed my stay is south africa though especially in capetown undoubtedly the best experience in south africa, i made a round trip from south africa to namibia to botswana and finally to Zimbabwe and the best expirience of my visit to those southern africa nations came in Zimbabwe, i stayed at crown plaza hotel in harare for 2 nights, and man the weather was beatiful with sunshine all over and cool weather, i then visited a little called nyanga in the eastern highlands which has beautiful mountains and really nice weather, it can get a bit chilli down there because of all the mountains and the high altitude above sea level but its a beautiful and probably the best weather in africa, lastly but not least i visited another are in the eastern highlands called bvumba/vumba man what a discovery that little town was, on our way to vumba we passed by a city called mutare and our guide was telling us the british dubed this city little london because of its beauty and he was telling us how queen elizabeth II and the queen mother visited the leopard rock in vumba, which is where we were staying and the queen mother said there no place more beautiful in the whole of africa and i said to him the beauty of this place and the perfect weather and scenery can’t be compared to anything on earth brother and i said to him the people who said that had not seen something more beautiful than london in all their lives till they visited the eastern highlands in Zimbabwe, Africa is truely beautiful.
Thanks for sharing. I love the weather in Botswana. Reminds me of Arizona.
For your correction!
Botswana is not a town bro, its a country....and we are over 2 million in population.
The video is about Gaborone. Not all of Botswana.
Nice video. Subscribed.
Sounds like Bots needs some Kenyan nightlife investment ... 🤨 ... hmm ... 🤔 ... maybe, just maybe 😈

Gaborone is a Capital city Sir by stature .......that's very important ...where you live may be a larger cityby comparison ....but Gaborone ranks with the likes of Washington DC , Pretoria , Harare, Moscow....by stature Sir..by stature...calling it a town is a little...*meh* if you know what I mean ....but you did a good job nonetheless ...kudos..
Gaborone is VERY little. Thanks for watching
@@travelconnect1 Yes it is...but by stature it is a CAPITAL CITY just like Pretoria, Harare, London, Paris , and Moscow....that you can never take away from our good old Gabz..thank youu very much..
@@luxenvan Cool down. Gabs is nice and the video proves it but it is a small city/town by many standards. Gaborone is like one part of Nairobi city which is a city of 5 million plus people. What he means is that Gabs is not a big city by proper defintion.
@@alexchui3511 I am down mate...the fact remains Gaborone is a Capital City and ..not a town...and is of the same stature as all the other capital cities worldwide...of course Gabs is smaller. But it remains a city...nothing less.
