  • Hey guys!
OMG it's our first IKEA HACK! I am so happy with the finished product. I know it was a pain in my side throughout the build but I'm so glad I stuck with it. It definitely was the most rewarding DIY to date because I'm so happy with how much I was able to save and the overall presence it makes it my space makes my heart feel full. I most definitely will be tackling a few more Ikea dupes soon.
Special shoutout to ‪@StudioMcGee‬ and ‪@magnoliawaco‬ for being my inspiration.
See ya in the next one!

Hello! I just subscribed to your channel this weekend and loved your electric fire place project! I just watched your Ikea cabinet hack and I thought it turned out great! I had an idea for the inside of your cabinets, for the panes that you wished you had painted. I’ve heard of using black tape to make window panes. It would allow the clearance for the doors to close or you could also mask off the panes on the inside and paint the black lines directly on the glass. Just a thought. You’re house is beautiful, keep up the great work!! I’m so glad I found your channel! 😊

  • @pf5658

Just ran across your video, you both did an amazing job. I was thinking at the end when you said next time you would make sure to paint the back side maybe you could run some electrical tape on the inside to cover it up, I’ve seen other RUclipsrs do that on their windows because they are renters and they wanted the grid look, just a thought and loved your video

  • @armaniv6455

The cabinet looks awesome! The reason there are so many steps to building IKEA furniture is, they make it affordable because, it is flat pack! Their concept is you pay less, you put it together, you can get it in your vehicle to take it home and you don’t have to order and wait for it! If you go to a furniture store you will pay much more, may have to have it delivered or you will wait weeks!

Try using some black electrical tape on the inside of the cabinet on the cross bars to cover the white. Love your project! Great job.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. I have an old cabinet that I think I will paint like that. What brand and finish is the White paint AND is it the paint you used in your Foyer? Thank you both so much for sharing your home transformation. Blessings

Thank you 😊 Yes, I used the same paint that’s throughout my house. SW extra white Super paint in a satin finish.

It is in in many pieces because it is the way Ikea can sell it for lower price. And they can transport more furniture in one shipping which also is better for the environment.
The instructions only have pictures so it can work in every country. Imagine if thy had to do different manuals to every country. Ikea stores can be found on 29 different countries.

Well worth it! Have you thought to use black electrical tape to cover the back of the door mouldings?
