The tuning is 40 cents sharp from drop b. That means instead of tuning to the standard A at 440hz, tune A to 450hz and then tune the rest of the strings accordingly.
That’s the first thing I noticed. I’ve seen them a ton of times over the decades in the Bay Area and it’s a really common mistake for people to make. I probably wouldn’t have noticed if I hadn’t seen them so many times and been playing their tunes for so long.
what a fantastic tutorial of a great song, i still remember like yesterday, when the cd came out and we had it blasting out loud from our car stereo speakers and driving through the city.. that were times ;) also great schecter guitar!!
If you guys are going to do this hit the tone thing you should actually use the right gear. Or perhaps make it more in depth and use three different price point rigs
Nope. This album is closer to Drop B @ 455Hz, or Drop C @ 428 Hz. And some songs on the album are not dropped. And they use other tunings and reference pitches on other albums.
@@phillbagg "And they use other tunings and reference pitches on other albums" : yes Drop B 444 hz. So don't tell me that I was wrong. I never tell that Burn My Eyes was in this tuning, I was talking more in general. And of course you have some different tuning like Aesthetics of Hate in C# standard 444hz or Left Unfinished in B F# B F G# C# in 444hz (But like I said, In general and nowaday MH tuning is DROP B 444hz)
Celestion Greenbacks are key to this face-melting tone 🤘🏻🤘🏻 Massive low end and a very different midrange response compared with the ubiquitous Vintage 30.
Sorry this is nothing like it..... Drop C 425Hz EMG 81 - Boss SD1 Tone Noon Gain none Volume cranked- Green Channel 5150 - 4x12 with 25W Greenbacks - a single SM57 - Done
Sounds really good! I do some similar videos and I'm planning to do Rob's tone for a video too. I understand about not using the exact gear.... *GEAR COSTS A LOT!!!!!* But some people don't get it. Still, I love the video! I hope you don't mind we're doing similar videos but I like to also look at the formats other channels do to sort of make changes to my own.
OK. With the VAST stock that Thomann have there should've been more effort into gear. Minimum requirements: Any booster/od, mini 5150 (or similar) amp and 1x12 V30 cab. This would've given you a MUCH superior metal tone instead of this fuzzy, fizzy, flabby, flaccid tone. Otherwise, great video - Here's the thing though, in music you have to get the sound correct, otherwise it's just nothing. Thomann, I honestly love you, but this is very weak.
He’s not doing the harmonic on the correct strings. Watch Rob play and you’ll see which fret and strings he actually playing them on. He also slides from the first fret into the harmonic. I saw a video of Robb showing somebody that was playing it incorrectly.

the right Harmonic is on 7 fret, not 5. (Rob explains it when he was visiting Ola Englund)

The tunning is a feww cents below C. Rob Flynn told that in a Guitar World video a few years ago.
That Schecter is a beast! Love it! 🤘🤘
The tone is a bit too fuzzy and not too focused. But it's still pretty good

i've been told he used a 5150 on the lead channel with a TS9. I know he played a V with EMGs back....
Green boosted, not red.
For those who are wondering, Machine Head tuning is Drop B at 444 hz.

I agree. They seem more to be pimping products they wanna move than actually trying to nail the tone
dispite distortions & down tuned bass blasted ballistic barres Mr. G totally Djent’ed sound designs that devastate the dB Meter 🤘🏽
Missing the slide....
Drop C in A432 temperament
🤘😈🤘
Use a different amp and speaker...

You guys need to do more research before making a video wrong tuning. It's drop b + 40 cents on a tuner.
Tone is horrible to be honest
Sounds ok on my phone, which phone are you listening to this on? ;)
@@Always_in_C_standard Don't listen on a phone...
@@seanridner1385 I agree
Go check out Ola Englunds version if you want to see how to actually get the tone.
@@Brentqvaleenjoyer i watch his Channel a long time i know the vid
I can’t carry on watching
Halau!
So you should use the actual gear they used.
Way toooo much talking!!!!!!
Less talking like a woman more playing like a man
