Hiro is a JNR D51 but Oigawa railways don’t but they have a JNR 9600 which they are good also 9600 can fit on any JNR railway system except for the Shinkansen line and the other JR standard gauge lines

03:45 This was taken at Didcot Railway Centre. I do know that when it was first painted in the late 80s it was grey because I saw the earlier colour images put up inside the station waiting room, but when I used to go to DOWT events in the late 90s I saw the same face in a skin colour. So it was either painted over or the whole thing was duplicated.

3:36 That is in fact Fergus's real life basis 'Blue Circle' based on the Nene Valley Railway in England. Obviously for the TV series they had to alter the basis to fit the eye mechanisms in by lifting the running board etc. But I have been to the Nene valley but wasn't fortunate enough to see him. I have seen their take on Thomas though.

Upon closer inspection, that is NOT Salty its too short, height and length, that looks like a perfect real world version of Dart. It looks like Salty cuz of the pain but the proportions are all wrong and fit Dart MUCH better!

Note: the American Douglas in day out with Thomas is actually in Australia, the same goes to Donald, Henrietta, lady, Edward, James, Trevor, gorge, and Thomas, I would know cuz I saw there befor, like multiple times when I was young.
1:16 - 2:00 I believe is the Nene Valley Railway. Which is home to the very first real life Thomas locomotive (which pre-dated the TV show and was given its blessing by the Reverend Awdry himself).

3:43 That is from Didcot Railway Centre in Oxfordshire, UK. I've been to one of their events as a kid where they used 2D faces and the then newer generic 3D Thomas faces. The 2D faces have a lot more character to them, but MY GOD is it hard to find archive photos of Didcot back in the day when they started doing Thomas days.
3:45 - looks an awful lot like Ducks face when they washed the lather off of it in A Close Shave in Duck and The Diesel Engine. Pretty great considering the context of the photo!

I have very fond memories of volunteering at a DOWT event at the Gold Coast Railroad Museum in Miami back in 2019. I actually still volunteer there from time to time.

That engine at 3:51 is a GWR 14xx (oliver's basis). I wouldn't be surprised if that was somewhere like the severn Valley- they have lots of Great Western locos.

It’s 1466. 1465 was scrapped before the day out with Thomas events became a thing.

The 'Douglas' at 3:27 is at the Ipswich Railway Museum in Queensland, Australia.
They dressed up their PB15 class loco, number 444 to represent the twin.

Once upon a time, it was day out with Thomas. Thomas wasnt working so the next day I went to the station with a handmade get well card a train driver came out and then he took me to see Thomas and let me sit inside his cab and put the card over his fireplace.
3:45 I can only presume that's a 14xx at one of the earlier day out with Thomas events. I presume she was scrapped as I can't find her number in the preserved locomotive lists.

These are awesome. I was fortunate enough to go to stratsburg Pennsylvania and see 611 locomotive. It was beautiful. Mavis and rusty were also amazing
I'm going to strasburg this summer. Also at 4:19 the diesel behind Thomas looks like Salty.
Now just imagine how many more weird and wonderful DOWT faces we could see if HiT and consequentially Mattel didn't treat Thomas like it's theirs to milk and let British railways just do DOWT events all the time.
I think we can all agree that they Learned from previous mistakes and I also wish I had a Terrence go-kart

4:13 that Thomas day at dean forest railway, I remember putting face on our rail car use before the Thomas day started. Sadly we don’t do day out with Thomas any more but we still have the faces for the engines including this one.
4:17 fun fact that Thomas is now 18 hunslut called “jesse” she was at 2019 steam gala and then had here at dean forest railway for 3 months in 2021 before going back to home railway. She was in freshly painted industrial style black and yellow striped paint, look brilliant.

Even though Drayton Manor is terrible at taking care of the Thomas Models. But their probs of Thomas, Percy, Rosie, James, etc are really great! Plus I really like the Strasburg Percy & Thomas!

That Fergus is literally Fergus' basis, which was always the right colour, & shape, with a face added. The model in the TVS is much larger to accommodate a face, but the real engine is much lower slung.

Went to one in Strasburg, PA in 2012 when I was 6 and we were living there for just a year. One of the best days of my life. My family was with me and they put on fake smiles for me all day. Great day for sure! :)

I dunno about strasbourg but Thomas land was my young life, you just couldn’t top it. The whole ride behind Thomas, Percy AND Rosie!!! The hotel as well, OH MY GOSH cant say how good that place is. Also looking forward to the new exhibit

I believe the engine you did not know is supposed to be Oliver, since it has a four digit number starting with 14, which would make him a 14xx.
