    Lampard's a great foil for Roy. He understands the need for high standards but is also empathetic to the technical difficulties. Wouldn't have a problem with Frank being a regular at Sky.

      I’m not a Liverpool fan but Liverpool players fought for the team and the Liverpool’s badge. Majority of Man U players are average. Lots of players to get rid of, including Rashford. Selfish lot. One dimensional. Run, cut in and smash. No technical skills or the trickery or smart thinking.

    Playing for the badge should be enough for players. You might disagree with the manager's tactics and stuff, but play for the club. Some of these players have been here for 4 or 5 different managers - that tells you something.

      Tbh our options are limited. Unfortunately he is the only player on the team who will put a shift in, doesn’t stop running every game and the stats back it up. Problem is he gets caught out of position alot without the ball because he doesn’t stop running.

      Like Gary Nevilles, Park Ji Sungs and Michael Carricks were ever world class to begin with. This IS their DNA. Always has been. Fergie just managed to slab over the cracks, dysfunction and epic levels of entitlement that has always been a feature of their full squads -- give or take the odd 2 or 3 flukey seasons, when they were actually a complete team with strong mentalities.

    Absolutely spot on. Garnacho lost the ball around 80 odd mins , never tracked back or tryed to get the ball back. Rashford does this most games , no fight no hunger!! Get in the Bentleys after the game back to the mansions, paid for mostly by hardworking punters that deserve alot lot more.

      @@TimmyRipkey-zj7sg You're not completely wrong but if Garnacho didn't have the gas to track back even in the 80th minute, then he isn't fit enough to wear that shirt. That means he doesn't put the hard yards in on the training pitches & in the gym. For all of Bruno's failings, you frequently see him running full tilt all game long into injury time, and he covers far more yards than any other MU player. Bruno doesn't have an athletic body type but he has a motor and extracts every ounce out of it. If that is Garnacho's best to offer, then he is NOT up to the required standards at Old Trafford. Not to mention every City and Liverpool player - do you ever see them slow down? No, because they're fit. I really wish someone like Keane could work players like Garnacho & several teammates over for a few weeks and get all those carefree attitudes worked out of them. But, yeah, those days are gone.

      They’re getting eating away because of how far they’ve fallen. Let us not forget where there were in their years and how much it’s amounted to. We shouldn’t just coddle them and treat them like a mid table side considering the resources they’ve got. Yes it’s easy to throw blame around and get headline clicks but they should be held to account if the players or management are subpar given the shoulders they’re stood on

    Roy's spot on. These players won't improve under Amorim either. It's just the reality. If United want to move to the next level and sustain it, they'll need to move on players like Bruno, Rashford, Eriksen, Casemiro, Shaw, Maguire, Lindelof, and a few others.

      You didn't even mention Antony, sir. Casemiro and Eriksen are in their last months anyway, but I would NOT focus on them as being part of the problem. Our attacking players - all bar Amad Diallo - are not good enough and that is where the real clearout should be. Hojlund puts in the effort but just doesn't have the skill set to be a league winner. Zirkzee already looks like a "I've come here to enjoy the easy life" player. Garnacho is so wasteful and a bit full of himself. Rashford seems to think of other things while on the pitch. Start with them, they're by far the weakest links in the team.

    INEOS has to sell players like Rashford, Antony, etc and buy young elite talent who will fight for the badge in order for us to be competitive again. We need a proper striker, in which we haven’t had since either RVP or Zlatan. We overpay for mediocrity and it’s sickening. Man United have to bring to get rid of the soft and weak culture that has rotten this once great club.

    The first person id get rid of out that club is Rashford, Rashford with him being English and untouchable id make a statement and send him packing straight away. Luke Shaw would be right behind him, id be on a mission for the supposed British talent thats supposed to understand the Prem better than the foreign contingent. The reason why Fergie liked to have native British players who where the best is because they knew the consequences of losing to other teams in the Prem, this native lot have grown up in a different age it doesnt mean enough to any of them.

His first season as manager, he took over Sunderland when they were in the relegation zone having lost 4 games in a row and won the championship with them that same season, winning championship manager of the season in his first ever managerial season. He then kept them up finishing 15th.
      He also had three seasons at Ipswish where he reamained in the Championship for those three seasons.
      Not exactly a 'bad' manager CV is it lad

    Unfortunately the mainstream media is a massive part of the problem. They like to highlight individual players because of today's celebrity culture that many people go along with. This sets the wrong example to young players. So it makes it more difficult for managers to get players to focus on being part of a team.

    imo most players have great basic skillsets. They have the stamina and can pass solid. What actually builds the team is mentality and team atmosphere. Sure some players can clutch the game with their own skills on their own, but most of the goals are teamwork, vision, and mentality

    Just feels like the cycle is just going to continue with Utd until the squad itself is addressed and stronger minded and more professional players are added into the fold. I can see Ruben Amorim starting off pretty well and Utd going on a decent run with the fans all getting hyped up again and starting to believe in the new "project". Then once the players are over the honeymoon period from just experiencing a different regime to ETH the rot will gradually start to seep in and those egos will start coming out on show again...
