My god! This game brings me back some memories. I used to rent this game on Blockbuster by it was the Nintendo 64 version. it never ceased to amaze me this game.
@@idonthaveanose Your lucky. I never got to see it in theaters. I first saw it when my Mom got the VHS back in early 2000. The first movies I remember seeing in theaters were "The Tigger Movie", "Chicken Run", and "Thomas and the Magic Railroad". The latter of which I still regret.
@@supermariof0521 Ahhh I saw all of those in cinemas. And last year I rewatched Thomas and the Magic Railroad while drunk with a friend. It is hilariously awful. And needlessly complex for a kids' movie.
@@idonthaveanose Very true. Also I may be the minority that says that releasing the "Directors Cut" version with PT Boomer wouldn't really salvage the movie, but rather would just be like putting a band-aid on a gun shot wound.
@@supermariof0521 That movie was by far the nadir of the Britt Allcroft days. I remember little me being sooo confused and disappointed. As for The Tigger Movie, we actually set out to see Pokémon the Movie but I changed my mind last-minute. I was never a big Pokémon fan, it was just the 'big movie' at the time.
Fun Fact: This game has a Cheat Code that lets you play the game in Widescreen. To activate it you need to press Left, Right, Up, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, Left, Right, Up, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, Left, Right, Up, Down on the Title Screen in that order. If you do it correctly you'll hear the confirmation sound play twice. The Title Screen, Level Select and the Level Title cards won't be affected, but the Options, Movie Viewer and the Load/Save Menu will be affected though, it's only Professer Porter and Jane who gets affected since their 3D models. Also, the In-Game hud gets a bit larger with the cheat code activated.
@@idonthaveanose Yea! It's pretty impressive how they managed to pull this of on an old console from 3 decades ago. The only other PS1 game I know that does this is Pac-Man World, although it's an Option instead of a Cheat Code and the game isn't fully Anamorphic and can look kind of Stretched.
I owned a chipped ps1 when I was younger, I had this game but it would always freeze at the 4th level and I used more than one disc trying to get further in the game but it must have been a problem with the ps1 so sadly I never got to complete this game! Great review though! 😊
Thank you! That's actually really weird because I started recording this on my PS3 (you can actually sorta tell since half the footage is upscaled) but it kept freezing on level 5's loading screen. So I tried another copy and it did the same, so I switched to my good old PS1. Never fails me. :P Thanks for the comment again, glad you enjoyed!
Me and my brother had a chipped PS1, and a pirated copy of this game. Our game would also crash at the exact same point; the level 5 "Coming of Age" loading screen. It might have been an anti-piracy measure from the developers; stopping pirated versions from working properly.
So I know I'm late to this but I've got to say the this video made me go back and replay this game, I'd forgotten how good this movie tie in game is, which is kind of surprising because I don't like very linear or side scrolling games even including the sliding parts but I don't know why I kept playing and I really appreciated the music in the game as they used either versions that sounded like the film version of the music or it was the music from the movie. Tarzan had one of the best soundtracks in any Disney film, I think the only other older Disney film that I enjoyed the music more to was Lion King, the only new Disney film I've enjoyed the music to was Moana and that was only because of you're welcome and the shiny song (can't remember the name of it.) Tarzan is definitely underappreciated at least in my opinion and needs more love. I'm only new to this channel but I really appreciate your reviews, they are very nostalgic for me and I've gone back and bought a ps1 and ps2 and some games you've reviewed and that I've previously played in my childhood years because of you, so thank you for that, Mr I don't have a nose. Sorry this was long.
Haha! I agree it's extremely underappreciated, especially compared to the other Disney Renaissance films, and I definitely agree about the soundtrack. Glad you enjoyed and thanks for the comment, hope you can make one of the premieres!
@@idonthaveanose it's funny you say that actually as you played a different tarzan game just last week, but unfortunately I was not able to make it as it was my 26th Birthday on the day you premiered. It used to be talked about quite a bit back in the day. 😂 Playing it again, it surprised me how short it is.
That is not a problem, per se
No, agreed. It follows the movie pretty well I think.
This movie is 20 years old.......................let that sink in.
Please don't say that. It makes me feel so old. :( I remember vividly seeing it in cinemas.

Pretty sure the weird yellow thing that "isn't very nice" is called a pangolin
Haha! I have been told already. Thank you. 😂 Forgive my ignorance.
1:37 That's actually a pangolin, and I think it's AWESOME they were added in this game!
