From your review it appears to be a fairly long game. What I like about it (besides the dream levels ofourse) is that it really captures the flow of the movie like the chase scenes and sliding/rafting instead of being a blunt platform and coin collect game. Great review as always!

I remember I was a little afraid to show this movie to my parents because ego swears in it by saying Bloody 😂😂😂 my parents were very protective of me so that’s why I watched it on my laptop DVD player 😄 also i use to always wonder where the cops were in this movie with stuff like skinner stealing one of his employees scooters and going full GTA throughout Paris XD although we know that German cook with the buzz cut has been locked up before and he changes the story every time you ask why
I loved it as a child, and I still play it to this day on the GameCube. I've actually counted how many times I have beaten the game since I was young and I have actually beaten over 27 tines. I'm not kidding
The 2000s were good but the 90s has like the best games and consoles ever released sega genesis super nintendo ps1 dreamcast n64 games like legend of zelda sonic the hedgehog gta tomb raider etc
It's petty much the same game, but with some motion controls here and there, the only real difference is that there's a fishing minigame exclusive to the wii port.
Doubt you'll read this comment 3 years after the review but Hello, speedrunner here! First thing is I super enjoyed the video and more people talking about this game. Second thing, you mentioned a complaint about constant tripping. An odd quirk of this game is that its framerate heavily correlates to how the game handles physics. Modern PCs need to use a frame limiter for the game because at higher FPS values Remy will trip over LITERALLY everything. I assume you played on console so that wouldn't affect you as much, but it still stands that the faster an area runs (due to lag and such) the WORSE the physics end up which is really odd.
Ahh yes. Not only I used to own it for the PS2 (and played the Xbox 360 demo), but the Dream Levels was quite a trip! Now that I think about it, I wonder if it’s backward compatible on the Xbox One 🤔 Update: it’s not. Oh well...
In my opinion it seems that video games for movies in the time period that this and the wall-e the video game came out where way better than video games of movies now a days (yeah they weren't great but I haven't seen games like them in forever but it's probably because I live on a rock.)
A lot of these old games have things worth seeing! I really like the locations in particular in this game. They captured the feel of the movie really well.
I remember playing this! Probably one of my favorite games from my childhood. If I remember correctly there was a bug at the beginning of the first pipe slide that let you get onto the table and back into the restaurant, this let you skip all the way from the beginning to the last level. Probably re-beat the game over thirty times and had a 100% save as well

@@idonthaveanose Before doing the second you should review the first one. Or maybe you can combine them together in one video! For both of them there are the PC versions, if you have a good PC I suggest you to record that since it should go up to 60fps and more. And they have the best quality (for the time). I can send you my games files if you can't find nothing on the internet. All the versions for the different consoles should be the same in terms of in-game content.

I do recall the special features talking about different drafts and I know it switched directors a few times before Brad Bird took the helm. There's a deleted scene that would explain certain elements: Remy's family performing heists (Gusteau's was the Fort Knox for high-class rubbish, as it were) and food world dream sequence where Remy's just fantasises about being a chef.
The heist thing was my next guess! There is a huge emphasis on the group of rats plotting to obtain the food. Of those rats, only Git is actually in the movie, I think?
@@idonthaveanose Which in and of itself is a good idea: Ocean's 11 with rats. Even as a game, I can imagine X-COM meets Sly Cooper. 😆 Git is definitely in the final film, but I didn't even know what his name was until this review, not gonna lie.

Hey. I'm convinced you should review the ps3 and x360 version of Ratatouille too when you have time. They are different versions, like the Simpsons game. Also because it doesn't confuse people believing the game it's the same in all platforms like Caddicarus did. Maybe if you have time, you can do the DS and PSP too.

To me, this game is a PS2 Tech Demo more than an actual game at times, but I will say... It's one of the prettiest PS2 games. Due to how lively the enviroments are, nice use of color.
Well um after replaying an adult…. I have realised it’s a surprising SHORT game🤣 Also that moment Remy just figures out he’s in Paris in the SEWER….has not aged well 😝
Oh my gosh this game actually jog a memory for me and I’m not sure if anybody remembers but when I was in Disneyland with my dad and my brother we were actually able to play this in one of the Disney attractions I can’t remember which one it was but it was like a future thing where we saw like futures things for a future home like maybe a talking mirror maybe I can’t remember what it was but man we were pretty lucky to play ratatouille at the Disney park Plus if anybody knows about it this attraction was near that tomorrow land area where they had space mountain buzz light-year ride
Me and my brother used to play the heck out of it and struggled whenever we reach the part where you have to cook stuff in a certain amount of time and the sliding sections of the game other than that it's pretty simple for a ps2 game
Have you considered reviewing PSP games as well? I would recommend Ratatouille game for PSP which has a different plot, better visuals, and some added combat moves (wouldn't expect you to be too pleased by it, haha) and some other PSP games as well. :D
@@idonthaveanose Yep. It's a sequel to this game and the movie. The first level takes place in Linguini's apartment. They improved visuals, removed the spoon attack, and the main collectables is cheese which you can trade to the Rat Merchant for upgrades (e.g. attack combos, additional HP, etc).
Oh that's strange that they had different games for the different consoles. They did similar with Up. I'm not sure when I'll cover the other Ratatouille game but I've been meaning to do more Pixar ones for a while.

The slide levels on the ps2 eerily look and feel like the have a similar control and physics to battle for bikini bottom slides, (develeped by heavy iron). But apparently heavy iron made the ps3 version of ratatoulie (completely different game, not a port)
Funny you should say that - I actually suspected Heavy Iron Studios had some involvement in the PS2 game, just because Remy's run looks like Dash's in The Incredibles game. The Heavy Iron logo does appear in the game and on the case, but I couldn't see a mention of them in the credits or anywhere online.
@@idonthaveanose Awesome, my niece loves it. She also finds jumping off a ledges funny too, she's getting much better at camera controls these day. On another note the character models for the Rango game were made by ILM the vfx house that made the film.

Funny you should say that - I actually suspected Heavy Iron Studios had some involvement in the PS2 game, just because Remy's run looks like Dash's in The Incredibles game. The Heavy Iron logo does appear in the game and on the case, but I couldn't see a mention of them in the credits or anywhere online.

@@idonthaveanose Awesome, my niece loves it. She also finds jumping off a ledges funny too, she's getting much better at camera controls these day. On another note the character models for the Rango game were made by ILM the vfx house that made the film.
