It actually is a bit like D&D too. Move stats, rolls for stats, thieves disabling traps(FE6).

Literally every Awakening character has the potential to become "a wrecking ball" with a couple of extra levels. Olivia is not special in that regard.

The only gripe/weird thing to me was with FE honestly. And it was just Phoenix mode.
I actually really like Casual Mode, because honestly I would always restart anyway if I lost a dude, so this just saves me the trouble. And Phoenix mode, well, I just dont play it.
Doing an easy run through right now to see the story and then I'll do one on a harder difficulty to have a challenge.

Man, I'm so glad they atleast mentioned the earlier titles in the series. I mean, Awakening is great and all, but people need to really play the older games. Atleast play FE7, 9, 12, and probably 6, if you want some closure for the FE7 story.

+giantWario That's not why people hate it. They hate it because it does not play like the old games. It has extremely stale gameplay (every map is just kill all enemies or kill the boss, no more defend this NPC, survive this many turns, protect the throne for this many turns) and they killed character identity by allowing you to change all of their classes into whatever you want as many times as you want. One of the coolest points of the old games which is now completely gone is when the "lord" characters/classes would class up and have completely unique classes just for them; they would even throw in some story to how they class up.
I was really interested in seeing how they would write in the children from the future of the characters, but they didn't even do that. They were just extra mundane characters with no real reason to be included besides letting people see different hair colors of the children for the couple they shipped. The writing of this whole game was abysmal.

I mean I definitly agree with you on Path of Radiance, its still my favorite Fire Emblem. But most Fire Emblems before 6 barely even had a story beyond «You are a noble of a fallen kingdom, go fight everyone.»

1:51 really makes me question whether they've ever actually played Awakening or not.
