- The actor joins the formerly all-female panel of 'The Talk,' which currently features Sheryl Underwood, Elaine Welteroth and Amanda Kloots. Carrie Ann Inaba recently took a leave of absence from the series, while Sharon Osbourne departed the show earlier this year. 'The Talk' airs weekdays on CBS.

@ Gaming Celebrity: my first thought was I hope that they wouldn't make that chant this Jerry's signature chant. This Jerry is so much better
His name alone should have factored into this decision. It is also important to note that Jerry had a stint subbing for "The Wendel William show" last year. Fox was considering giving him his own show if the ratings supported it during his brief run on WW time slot. The ratings were terrible! Whatever anyone thinks about WW her show gets BIG ratings! People like watching a train wreck. I mean Jerry Springer had his show for 20+ years at at times it beat "The Oprah Winfrey show" and she was the queen of talk shows during it's 25 year run.

@@yolandapaulino5952 but Jerry did have his own show. But they hardly gave it a chance. He’s a real tonic. You always know you’re in for a good time with Jerry with much hilarity.
I really like Jerry, I think he is alot of fun and it might be good to be able to regularly pull on a male perceptive. I just hope that he gets serious when the topic deems it and not always clowning around. Sometimes he can get too goofie and goes overboard so I am hoping he strikes a good balance with his humour and his input on topics.
@MSMC Accounting: he does clown a bit, however he does not always portray himself as the class clown. I think he is absolutely brilliant, I see him balancing his commentaries with just the right amount of seriousness and lighthearted contributions at just the right time in my opinion.

@@pauldecroix4567 part of that was because he had to follow the exact same format as wendy. He needed his OWN show. This may be a good segway to that. The people Love jerry!!
@@lalisitabonita i don't care for him. Also, he could have done his own thing during his summer talk show last year. (and I believe he did?) Nobody watched. Mariah Carey's ex hubby however did well ratings wise and now Fox is banking on that for his own talk show in the fall.
@@pauldecroix4567 well you're one of the few. But that is what Im referring to- the Jerry O show was on Wendy's set, with the exact same format as Wendy's show. Good for Nick Cannon, he's used to hosting gigs. Im glad Jerry is getting his chance, there are plenty of people, like myself, who love his positive vibes and energy!!
@@lalisitabonita Yes, on the lowest rated talk show on TV today. Even as of recently since announcing Jerry's addition to "The talk" showed the ratings tanking.

Jerry O'Connell is going to make the show fun. A lot of these talk shows have gotten ugly and depressing since the Trump administration. Very divisive and hyper political with everyone screaming and no one listening.

Happened to be home and flipping through the channels and came across Jerry O'Connell sitting on a couch with the Talk....It was like a car accident, I couldn't look away as I tried to figure out how he manages to sit with these hens while putting a stupid smile on his face pretending to be interested. I wondered where he goes in his mind to be able to bare it.... Then my next thought was kudos to you Jerry,. I get that a guy needs to earn a living but WOW !! Then I quickly changed the channel

GREAT MOVE!! I was hoping that this was exactly what was going to happen, I've watched The Talk since the very first episode, there were some of the hosts that I sincerely loved, there were many other guest hosts on The Talk that I hoped would become permanent hosts along the way, there were three, that I hoped would never have been selected, and of the three two, very relieved they're gone. But now we have Jerry. I absolutely adore him. I have watched him get passed over from other possibilities, and was affronted about those times, Regis, Wendy Williams, etc. But now I am reminded of phrases like "good things come to those who wait" "save the best for last" this is exactly where he belongs.
