My great grandfather Maurice Sheehy, as an Irish Immigrant, was one of the laborers of the Roebling Bridge during his mid to late teens. I was fortunate to enjoy living near this majestic & iconic landmark while I resided in the Licking Riverside Neighborhood for many years. As a child my Mother resided on Covington's Riverside Drive and also very close by there in her youth and young adulthood. She loves the bridge as I as well. My Aunt and Uncle had a house for close to 60 years which was the closest single home to the Roebling Bridge. I had countless very fortunate opportunities over 50 years to enjoy the beauty and magnificence of experiences of this site.

This bridge was by the same people who built the iconic Brooklyn Bridge, and that was 16 years before it opened in 1883.

I'm just finishing up my 3rd or 4th reading of David McCullough's "Great Bridge" detailing the history of the Brooklyn Bridge construction. Fascinating and highly recommended by me. I thought I would look this up and it is equally fascinating and beautiful. As an area you have every right to be proud of your bridge and the splendid job of maintenance you've done. Hopefully one day I can visit. Thanks for the video.

Very impressive bridge, thanks for posting this video.
My wife and I were just there recently and found out that it's closed for traffic for repairs.
It will reopen towards the end of July. You can walk across it in the meantime.
