This is genius. Peter Kay has such wonderful perception of everyday events, and the young lady who is watching this clip is a breath of fresh air, she is genuinely creased up with laughter at most of the situations being described. This is definitely a video on my "Fave" list.

Yeah as an Englishman and Londoner, every party I ever went to from a 3year old to when I was first an adult was EXACTLY like this.. he's brilliant! lol 😂😆 Brings back so many memories for the Brits as we used to be all the same really up n down the country don't matter where you wer from if you went to a party you were sure they'd be pretty much the same! Great times!(safer times) tbh.. Don't matter where you come from in Britain and Ireland we could ALL DRINK our weight in alcohol and Party! Lol 👍😉😂🏴🇬🇧

If you see Peter in his earlier TV shows, That Peter Kay Thing and its (ultimately more successful) spinoff Phoenix Nights, he does play multiple characters.

oh Britt you so made me laugh with this one, Peter is a true legend here in the uk, his live shows are just incredible and everyone just adores him, he's a great guy too, he has just started touring again after a few years away for personnal family reasons, so we are blessed again. x
He's one of our best. Don't know if you've reacted to miss heard lyrics but if you haven't it's a must. I find it even funnier than this. ❤
He's created and starred in 4 sitcoms playing a multitude of characters, you'd probably love them.

I absolutely love Peter Kay, but then most of the UK love him.
He also writes and stars in sitcoms. My favourite sitcom was Car Share. Have look there are some great clips on the Internet. Dogging is one that made me laugh so much
He sure knows how to pick up on the universality of situations. In spite of some of the language/accent barriers, he seems to make up for it so you almost always know what he's on about! Funny, funny guy!
You need to watch some of his comedy sitcoms - Phoenix Nights (he plays the owner of the nightclub called Phoenix Nights, and also plays a doorman in it called Max - doormen who decide who comes into nightclubs) then there’s Max and Paddy (a spin off from Phoenix Nights, where he plays Max from that show, and his associate Paddy) and then there’s Car Share (about a manager of a supermarket who gives a female Co-worker a lift to and from work every day). All of these series are hilarious! Don’t watch clips of these, try to get the whole 30 minute episodes! You won’t be disappointed!

I| think it's called observational comedy, when they observe the absurdities and characters of everyday life, and then exaggerate them by 50% for comedic effect. We've all seen these situations and people so we relate to them ... Billy Connolly and the Welshman Max Boyce work in a similar way .... Peter Kay is a genius !

New York New York at the end of a wedding is something of a tradition in the UK and Ireland, in fact not just weddings but any family function where there's a DJ in my experience

Great reaction to a UK national treasure. Scooby Doo is an American cartoon series. Scooby Doo is a great Dane dog who is part of a team of ghost hunters. It started around the late 60's and can still be seen today. New York, New York is a Frank Sinatra song but in Scotland we usually end weddings with Runrig's Loch Lomond.
New york new york is often played at the end of the night, not sure why, but it's used to signify that it's nearing the end of the party and for everyone to have one last dance. Other songs are used (come on eileen, thank you for the music, etc. This is very specific to my experiences, other end of night songs may vary 😂)

Peter had a series called phoenix nights where he played a couple of different characters a little like what you were saying about Eddie Murphy. He Possibly could have played more than a couple. It's been that long since I've seen it.
The show was really good but u would say the comedy is very British. I'm not sure how it would translate to an American audience.

In a previous reaction there was skepticism about that cassette player, that it was just a prop, and that might have been the case but in this instance at 11:05 it's almost impossible that this was rehearsed and the music is playing from a mixer with that kind of accuracy, unless it is post production and not actually the live sound, which is more doubtful to be honest. Anyway, extremely fun reaction.

He's sweating because of the stage lighting everyone performing in a theatre is the same there literally surrounded by around 40 500w stage lights it can get pretty hot.
