Beat the challenge first try after practicing the jump 3 times in a row before attempting ! I really appreciated your video it was incredibly helpful. Going for the L.O.T.E. as Arthur and I’m a bit closer because of your video!
I think Rockstar put that broken bridge only for this challenge. thank you so much. your explanation with meticulous choice of words was extremely helpful
Glad you found the video helpful. Yes I agree, it does feel like it was put there for, given you can only just get over, and the type of horse you use makes a difference.
@Andrew G. that would be me. Going via the damn through tall trees is far more difficult. Windy roads, nowhere to restrict the pinkertons movement and one wrong turn brings you out at a stream.
You can also play the Mission with Charles and the German guy "A strange Kindness" (chap. 2), let the German sit on your horse and when you are supposed to bring him to his family ride to van Horn and then to Blackwater. Pinkertons will not appear and you can go the longer and safer way. Then finish the mission and you got it. Note: this can also be done as a replay mission. It is also possible with the Reverend mission "Who is Not without Sin" (chap. 2) but I have heard it sometimes doesn't count the ride and therefore the challenge.
I’m gonna try that. I’m replaying it now and have that mission coming up. If the Pinkerton’s leave you alone, I wonder if you can collect the herbs on that part of the map as Arthur
@@johnherkert5324 no you can't because the invisible sniper will still be active once you cross into New Austin. But since Blackwater is still in West Elizabeth you will be able to do horseman 9. For herbalist 9 your only option is the wagon trick.
About to begin my attempts with Buell right now, at level 4 bonding with the panther saddle. I just know I'm going to mess this up and have to spend the entire afternoon redoing it over and over. 😂
@@Nylak-Otter This video made it pretty easy to figure out the technique! I got it within an hour or two, iirc, using the rattlesnake saddle, probably. Although remember to save, and be prepared to watch Buell die a few times before you figure it out. That hurt lol
@@herondei4834 I'm like a half hour into practicing the jump and I still can't get him ON the bridge without leading him. He reacts like it's a snake whenever he sees it (rearing, screaming, and stamina gauge red and flashing). I need to put my Arabian's brain into his body. He's the only fully bonded horse I've had that will still throw me as soon as he sees wolves. What a jackass.
@@Nylak-Otter 😂 leave Buell alone! Yeah you can ride him onto the bridge but you gotta walk him really slowly cuz if you're moving too quickly he'll freak out and rear. Unfortunately I think all dutch warmbloods are like this lol
Thanks for this, followed your clear instructions... 2 tries, hit an oil wagon on the 1st try..made the jump on the 2nd....reached blackwater as soon as the law arrived...dipped down the ravine to the water...made it back without dying. Plus with the dutch warmblood horse...it doesn't need extra stimulants if you gold core him at the van horn stable, I found leaving van horn at 6am there's not many obstacles in the way.👍👍 Excellent instructions
Just a helpful thing I just discovered, if you steal a shire horse (available from pretty much any wagon out and about) that will do the jump without having to go to the right and aim. It makes it 10x easier and I just did the challenge in under 12 mins.
I've not tried the shire horse but it doesn't surprise me - again it's one of the bigger breeds. A bit slower, but the jump saves so much time it shouldn't be a problem.
@@Jimbatron it's not really that much slower and with your route across the train tracks time is well in hand. Although I did have to nail about 8 pinkertons from q distance before going right into blackwater. Imagine how pleased I was for a while until I worked out that herbalist 9 is coming up. Oh f**k!

Interesting. I've just completed this challenge via Owanjila dam with Swanson on the back. As you can imagine, it's EXTREMELY long-winded. But totally doable. Even broke a Hungarian Halfbreed outside of Blackwater afterwards.
Yes using "Who is not without Sin" on replay seems a popular method. It works, and certainly it takes away the combat worries, but it takes a lot longer. I like the jump method as you don't have to worry about missing the time and it feels a bit more dramatic. The only thing is it's incredibly frustrating if you stuff the jump up, as your horse will likely die and you'll have to start again. Hence I recommend practicing first for anyone who wants to try it this way!
For anyone having difficulties in making the jump with a Dutch Warmblood, try with a Turkoman+PantherTrail Saddle, it is a better alternative with higher acceleration which increases probability of a successful jump. But aligning the horse on the single wood track on the right is a must. Good Luck!
No wayyy!! I tried jumping it before but never worked. But with your method I got it First try I’ve been trying to complete this challenge for 3 days. Works as of 03/09/2021 I used a brindle coat thoroughbred and it jumped the bridge without any problems.
Thank you SO much for this video. I'm doing my first ever playthrough of the story mode and decided I want to 100% and get as many achievements as I can my first go because I'm a masochist. I've been in Chapter 2 for nearly a month. First attempt I met the train half way across the Rigg's Station bridge. Attempt 2 I failed the jump. Attempt 3 was a complete success, Pinkertons only shot a single bullet, which didn't even hit me. Seriously, thank you so so much for this video and all your other guides as well. Unbelievably helpful.
Excellent, clear guide. Love your narrated guides. I wish all your guides were narrated. Narration makes a big difference in understanding/following your guides (at least to me). I'd like to confirm that based on your experience, a Dutch Warmblood, just out of stable, has more consistency jumping the bridge, than a levelled up Missouri Fox Trotter. Many thanks for sharing.
Hi I'm afraid I'm not sure about the Fox Trotter, I've not tried with it. I would suggest saving your game and doing a few practice jumps with it. What you don't want to do is start the challenge and ride half way across the map to find out it's no good at the jump.
@@Jimbatron Thanks for reply. I did try Fox Trotter, and she did the job without any problem what so ever. Right now, following your guide, I am trying to get the last herb, "Desert Sage". The sniper keeps killing me as soon as I pick it. Camera zoom too much and I haven't been able to get the right angle. Thanks a lot.
@@hyperborean. best of luck with it. Herbalist 9 as Arthur is definitely a pain. But if you’ve been able to do the other plants there’s no reason why you can’t do Desert Sage.
That tip about the Dutch warmblood was no joke, I was trying to use my white Arabian across that gap and every time it failed to get across. I go to the strawberry stable and get that horse and it makes across first try, then I did it again two more times after in a row! That horse was definitely the key, thanks for the tip bro!
No problem, glad this helped.I’ve seen other players report that the size of the horse is key, the work horses such as the Shire, Belgian Draft, and Suffolk Punch seem jump higher too. Makes total sense, just wasn’t certain R* would program in this level of realism, and the stat for this isn’t visible. Obviously though the Dutch Warmblood is a lot faster than the workhorses so it’s good to get here from Van Horn in good time, but still a big old beast. I parked my White Arabian next to Buell in “The Veteran - II” the other day and the size difference is noticeable.
Would you expect any less from aragon's horse brego? Lol Dutch warmblood is what he rides in the movie. It's why I personally got one asap and named him brego. I'm a lotr fan so it worked for me. You can also find Gandalf's shadowfax horse's breed up near brandywine drop. The white Andalusian. Where you kill Slim Grant.
I didn't go over the bridge, just tore along the grassy area just above the river and rode like hell for Blackwater. Went straight through, sharp left after the bank, leapt into the river and swam across to the other side while the shouts of the bounty hunters and lawman faded behind me. Used the Perlino Andalusian.
I took my arabian bought like 50 tonics for health, dead eye, and horse stamina and rushed to blackwater and killed like 200 pinkertons when i was there because they killed my horse and i wanted to avenge it
Holy shit. I failed this challenge miserably like 20 times going to long way and after watching your video I completed it first try. Got super lucky with the bridge... made it first try with no practice.
Excellent video! I had figured out this route on my own but could never make the jump I was always trying to do it with the wrong horse! Thank you for sharing this!!! 👍👍👍
Just nailed it first try Brindle Coat Thouroughbred got the most consistent jumps during practice. Oddly enough during practice I could never get three in a row. I used the improved lumley mclelland saddle with hooded stirrups. In case anyone is wondering, it does not matter if it rains on you en route. Srsly guys do what this video says it’s perfect. The exact horse does not matter. You just need to have a similar size, acceleration speed, and line up the jump just like he does in the vid. I noticed my camera POV needed to be on the second setting to get a consistent jump as well.
I don’t know about it being stats? But in competition, Dutch Warmbloods are used as jumpers for their long legs and because they have the muscle to propel themselves higher into the air so. Like, the real, actual horse. Not in game.
I expect there will be a lot of hidden stats for horses you can’t see in the menu. Like in GTA V for cars, where you can get details on top speed and acceleration, but there’s a load of handling stats in the game code that aren’t visible to the player.
Yep. My best and favorite horse I've ever had IRL was a cheap quarter horse cutter I got at auction at 3-4 years old, because he turned out to be so insanely strong that he could jump comparably to warmbloods in field and hunter/jumper competitions and was only about 15 hands high (I'm 5'1" and 100 lbs). He was my weird little powerhouse that everyone underestimated. He was built long and short, and his ride was extremely comfortable bareback, so I called him my lowrider or my limousine. He once broke my back by completely obliterating my first lumbar vertebra with a buck in a lightning storm, and I didn't even get dislodged from the saddle. (That was when he was young and fresh, and I recovered pretty well since I was only 17 and stuck with him.) I usually competed with warmbloods or thoroughbreds off the track, but he was the horse that converted me completely to quarter horses and wild-caught mustangs these days. I just love their underdog potential and versatility.
Just did it now with Brindle Thoroughbred and jumped the bridge. Use tonics on yourself and horse BEFORE jump then use lots on yourself as you get shot. Really easy to do.
I bought the Dutch Warmblood and tried the jump. Horse died instantly. So I tried running over Owanjila Dam instead and managed to complete it on the second try. I ran into a log and fell off on the first. I got to Blackwater in 14 minutes, 17 seconds. Plenty of time. I left Blackwater with a $630 bounty though. I never used any horse stimulants, since I just calmed the horse and regenerated stamina that way. You get more than you use between cooldowns with a good horse and equipment. If you're on PC and you can headshot all the lawmen in one deadeye, I'd say this is the easiest way to do it. I'd also recommend riding towards the lawmen and killing them as fast as possible, rather than trying to outrun and outheal them.
Finally I did it.... I dumped my arabian for a Shire and it worked. Apparently, Belgian drafts and Shire are excellent for the bridge jump because they are really big. My shire only had level 1 bonding so bonding doesn't really matter for the jump. Thank you so much
Idk if I'm just dumb or something, but none of the horses I use are able to jump on the bridge. Edit: finally made the jump. Also an Ardennes can be used for this jump. (I couldn't get the dutch warmblood because I'm not far enough through the story)
Bravo! If you acquire the Braithwaite Turkoman, it will easily make the jump too. For anyone wanting the dark bay turkoman, or one of the other 2 horses in that mission, it's easy to get one: 1. In chapter 3, start 'Horse Flesh For Dinner' at the Gray mansion gate. You will be sent to Braithwaite Manor. 2. When you and the boys pass through the Braithwaite gate guard, do not follow John & Charles as they casually ride around the fields to the left, but sprint straight south as a shortcut to the stables ahead of them. 3. Quickly run into the stable, and hop into the horse stall of your choice. Pet and feed the horse until you reach bonding level 1. Can take a couple minutes. 4. Exit the stable and approach John & Charles to continue the mission. 5. After you sell the horses to the fence brothers, you respawn at Clemen's point - run directly north back to the horse fence, and the turkoman (or whatever) will be there waiting for you. It has a 'B' branded on it, but that disappears.
@@ritchienithoo9479 it can be a challenge at first...For the best shot at the jump, I slowly walk the horse onto the bridge, so it's front feet are barely on the wood...then sprint from a dead stop. It comes down to timing the jump correctly. I always make sure to have the horses cores at max, and give a few pats to settle them down too. You'll get it, keep trying 👍

Bro you directly helped me in getting the Legend of the East outfit for Arthur, the one who it belongs to! If anybody hasn’t yet, check out his videos on getting herbalist 9 completed. Best breakdown online by far. Thanks again man!
Idk if this works for everyone but when I tried it in first person I didn't have to go to the right and I could gallop the whole way and make the jump after failing tons of times in 3rd person. Also, was using a shire.
Interesting. I’d recommend people try this out. R* games have funny dynamics with first person vs third person - eg GTA V you can run faster in doors in first person.
Tried to do it at 30 august of 2021 with a lot of methods described on youtube and nothing really worked till I used a bounty on my horse went to van horn drove to the dam near strawberry took the road via the forrest, no Pinkertons spawned, horseman 9 completed and could go away to finish my bounty.
After 5 unsuccessful attempts, this is the only way I succeeded, that too in 1st attempt. Bought the dutch warmblood from the stable near strawberry, practiced the jump only once.
Right, I am now on 86/90 challenges done. I am in the early part of chapter 3. All that stands between arthur and LOTE is horseman and herbalist 9/10. Starting with horseman 9 let's do this!
@@Jimbatron and a progress update. Despite being able to do it off challenge, I have successfully managed to get to the jump without incident and cock it up 4 times! Grrr

It's very possible to do it with the White Arabian using the method you talked about. All that's needed is to adjust the jump time. I literally completed it just now from the bridge advise you gave.
Dang it, I just finally sold my chocolate roan Warmblood I named Godiva. She really was a fine lady with her panther saddle; would have been great for this.
But there is actually much easier way to do this, very early in the game. Benedict Albright bounty mission. After the conversation with sheriff, just head over to Van Horn. Use Owanjila road, and as soon as you cross the border there, run to Blackwater. Pinkertons won't show up.
@@sentientgoose1020 I wouldnt know that,, i am not sure can you even replay side quests in this game. But what i do know, do all 8 horseman challenges. Then, do a mission for Uncle, taking him and girls to Valentine. After you complete the mission, head over to sheriff's office. After the cutscene, dont go hunt a bounty, head over to Van Horn and gallop to Blackwater. This is the most easiest way .
@@ckdanekfan3397 you can replay the Benedict bounty, just found that out. As long as I can do challenges in replay missions I should be able to get the challenge done
Excellent well organized video. I'm trying it now, in chapter 3 with my Turk but not having any success. I know it's a matter of timing. I want to get the Shire and try it. Is there a specific point on the bridge where you know to hit the jump button ?
Glad you like the video. A shire is a good bet, the size of the horse is key. I find it’s about 1 stride before the end of the bridge you need to hit jump. Also the trick is not to go too fast until you’re past the two posts at the start of the bridge, otherwise the game’s “horse automatically dodge obstacles avoidance system” kicks in and slows you down.
That's a great video dude... what we really need is the herbalist 9 challenge.. The buggy method is so hard. Still have not been able to do it after nth time. Here's hoping you can figure another way to do it.
There’s a link in the video on how to use a wagon rather than a buggy, I’m afraid though that isn’t easy either. But at least you can pick a wagon up from strawberry which means you can try again without having to drive all the way from Saint Denis

I actually just powered through Horseman 9 on the White Arabian. I've done every challenge with exception of Herbalist 9 as Arthur. I'm at the very start of chapter 6 just after "Visiting Hours." @@jonathanjoestar747 You do not need a top speed horse for this, even if you go the long way round as John in the Epilogue. The main thing about the jump is if you want to do it as Arthur is to cut down how many Pinkertons you'll have to fight through. And it's a more fun way to do it, you cut a huge chunk out of the journey, which isn't just about beating the par time, it's about cutting out a hugely convoluted loop from the journey.
I know this video is a bit old. But I went to check out the bridge, I didn't have any sort of bounty on my head, and the Pinkertons started freaking out. I didn't even do any practice jumps. Not sure if the time of day matters in game. It was around 10pm ish. I'm still in chapter 2, and haven't rescued Sean, or done Keiran's mission. I'm wondering if R* did something to prevent to player from trying the bridge.
Before you rescue Sean there are fewer Pinkertons patrolling in specific positions to allow you to reach the mission marker. I’ve not tried this at that point in the game but it could be those special scripted patrols go right by the bridge.
I'm replying rdr2 and for whatever reason I can not complete this mission. I've tried both ways successfully multiple times but nothing happened once I finish. I usually have 6-8 minutes to spare... 🤷🏼♀️
Other reasons for failing (besides missing the time) are falling off your horse (or dismounting), or touching water. This can include quite shallow streams you might not notice (one of the reasons I avoid Emerald Ranch like the plague).
Saving and reloading will often reset the weather. But rain won’t cause you to fail the challenge or make much of a difference. You mustn’t touch a river or lake, but rain water is fine.
It doesnt want to count and im not touching water not falling of my horse not nothing and it doesnt count. Do you know whats problem ive been trying it for 2 weeks. And i do it under 17 minutes.
Can't figure out this challenge. Tried like 20 times to make the jump riding black Arabian, no way. So I took the long way around through Owanjila, made it to blackwater in less than 17 minutes but still nothing. Is it still doable as Arthur? has it been patched or something? Great guide by the way.
As said in the guide, the problem is the horse. The Arabian is a fast horse, but it’s small and terrible at the jump. Use a large horse like a Dutch Warmblood, Hungarian Halfbred, or Shire Horse.
in my first attempt i tried to do the jump without practice and i did get across the bridge i was like holy shit but then when i get in blackwater pinkertons killed me in like 10 seconds i cant even react and the most sad part is challenge didnt count and my horse buell died so i had to go on my older saves and do the challange again wish me luck
For the Pinkertons - eat some minty big game to get a gold health core, miracle tonic to get gold health and dead eye levels, then activate dead eye as soon as they appear and kill them with a bolt action rifle.
Tried this. I was practising the jump, kept falling but my horse did not die. This somehow alerted the Pinkertons anyway and I was shot to pieces while my horse was caught up in the rocks and trees under the bridge....on the starting side of the river.😐
Not tried it. It depends how big it is - you want a large/tall horse. There is no visible stat for this is the game, but it does make a difference. Stand a Hungarian Halfbred or a Dutchwarmblood next to an Arabian and you'll notice the latter is tiny.
Good balance. The Springfield is one shot reload. The Lancaster holds more bullets but most often a single hit will not take your opponent down - especially if it’s a Pinkerton. A good hit with a Bolt Action Rifle will kill in one hit - yes you have to reload every five shots, but that’s enough to take out a small posse. For me it’s hands down my favourite weapon in the game.
@@Jimbatron thanks, I’m always learning something new about the game. Honestly your video is amazing. All of the other ones people make cut out at important times but you show the entire thing from start to finish. Legendary stuff.
@@johnbod thanks glad you found it useful. There’s a linked guide in the description also for everything needed for 100% if you need any other RDR2 stuff
I always use a Lancaster with explosive ammo myself, but I have to keep my accuracy tight, especially since I don't use deadeye and you can only carry 20 explosive repeater rounds. Usually in a huge dustoff you can back off and make more ammo, but in a race like this you obviously can't slow to a trot to do that. I just switched between my Lancaster and my semi-auto shotgun and occasionally the bolt-action rifle depending on what sort of enemies I'm looking at (those that approach closely or ambush you for the shotgun, those that appear in high numbers all over for the Lancaster, and those that appear in small distant groups for the rifle). Honestly, I've found a ton of success with the bow and improved arrows as long as you're riding a rock-solid horse who isn't going to misbehave when shot at. They're one-hit kills no matter where they impale the target at, and they pick targets themselves.
1 . Bring the drunken swansen minister. 2 . Put on your horse 3 . Go to the 'Black water' without pinkertons (They do not show when you with swanson minister) 4 . If you have donkey just ride it . donkey is best friend when you go there :D
@@Jimbatron I've went away for hunting few days came back they're still there. When I try to get into the bridge they actually move closer to the bridge as well. Is it related to certain main quest progression?
i made it across! My horse didnt lol Edit: It took long but i did it my horse didnt make it though. :( Thx man and also give aa minute silence for BigMan3. the 3 is because well i kinda forgot to save on my 2 practice runs. lol
I've not tried it with that horse. But it's less about speed and more about picking a big horse. Unfortunately R* doesn't give you actual size measurements. But if you look at two next to each other it can be a substantial difference. I hitched my White Arabian next to Buell when I did "The Veteran" missions, and it looked like a pony in comparison. The Dutch warmblood as said, or a Hungarian Half-bred would probably be the best choices.
I have not tried it. Best thing to do is save your game by the jump and practice it rather than attempting the challenge, riding half way across the map, and dying. If you can do it three times in a row, then you can have confidence in the horse, if not, get another one. The size of the horse seems to matter more than the stats. So something like a Dutch Warmblood or Hungarian Halfbred works best for me.
If you made the bridge jump there is no way you’ll fail the time. Most likely you touched water on route if you didn’t dismount or fall off. Avoid Emerald Ranch like the plague for this reason - there’s a load of puddles there that will cause a fail if you touch them.
to make horseman challenge 9 easier do it while you have a bounty hog tied on the back of your hoarse the pinkertons wont spawn in at all once you have completed the challenge drop off the bounty at the sheriffs office this method doesn't work for herbalist challenge 9 tho 😔
You can skip this and herbalist 9 to the epilogue if you want - it’s much easier. This is just if you want the Legend of the East outfit and max stats before ch6. If you don’t want it really badly, postpone to the epilogue!
Beat the challenge first try after practicing the jump 3 times in a row before attempting ! I really appreciated your video it was incredibly helpful. Going for the L.O.T.E. as Arthur and I’m a bit closer because of your video!

Glad you found the video helpful. Yes I agree, it does feel like it was put there for, given you can only just get over, and the type of horse you use makes a difference.
Honestly breaking every horse seems more of a challenge. The amount it would take to find them all I don't know if I have that patience lol
@@guitarman0365 I did it for fun because I love horses, and then I got the challenge and now I have to do it *again.* 🙄 Aight, R*, aight.
Easier to fight through Pinkertons then make this jump.
Or doing the challenge before rescuing Sean, since Pinkertons won't automatically spot you.
@Andrew G. that would be me. Going via the damn through tall trees is far more difficult. Windy roads, nowhere to restrict the pinkertons movement and one wrong turn brings you out at a stream.
@@michaeltattersall6766 yeah my first and only try got one hoof in the water.

You're right, but it's more enjoyable and challenging, i guess that's why we played video games

THANK YOU. For anyone wondering, Buell is pretty good at making the jump because he's also a warmblood!
Any time, good job getting it done, with Buell adding some extra style!
Good job getting it done, glad you found the guide useful
Oh f**k!

Did it on my 3rd try, took me 11 mins.
I didn't used your route but the jump and horse tip was usefull.
Thanks mate once again.
Subbed.
Hi, how you make it through the replay mission? My game crash when I was about to reach emerald ranch. Happened twice now
For anyone having difficulties in making the jump with a Dutch Warmblood, try with a Turkoman+PantherTrail Saddle, it is a better alternative with higher acceleration which increases probability of a successful jump. But aligning the horse on the single wood track on the right is a must. Good Luck!
No wayyy!! I tried jumping it before but never worked. But with your method I got it First try I’ve been trying to complete this challenge for 3 days. Works as of 03/09/2021

No problem glad you found this useful
@Andrew G. no problem, glad it helped you out
Hey guys, just so you know I sucesfully jumped with a thoroughbred...thanks for the time to make the video jimba..
@@miguelvelazquez9463 any time, glad this helped and great job making it.
I took my arabian bought like 50 tonics for health, dead eye, and horse stamina and rushed to blackwater and killed like 200 pinkertons when i was there because they killed my horse and i wanted to avenge it
Good Man
Holy shit. I failed this challenge miserably like 20 times going to long way and after watching your video I completed it first try. Got super lucky with the bridge... made it first try with no practice.
Glad this helped, great job getting it done.
Excellent video! I had figured out this route on my own but could never make the jump I was always trying to do it with the wrong horse! Thank you for sharing this!!! 👍👍👍
No problem, glad you found this helpful
Just nailed it first try
Brindle Coat Thouroughbred got the most consistent jumps during practice.
Great job getting it done
(That was when he was young and fresh, and I recovered pretty well since I was only 17 and stuck with him.)
I usually competed with warmbloods or thoroughbreds off the track, but he was the horse that converted me completely to quarter horses and wild-caught mustangs these days. I just love their underdog potential and versatility.
Thank you very much, helping people still 2 years on!
No problem, glad you find this useful
Well this will be my new goal. Because I really wanna finish as many things with Arthur as possible
My horse doesn't even want to jump... it just goes straight off the bridge
Finally I did it.... I dumped my arabian for a Shire and it worked.
Apparently, Belgian drafts and Shire are excellent for the bridge jump because they are really big.
My shire only had level 1 bonding so bonding doesn't really matter for the jump.
Thank you so much
Glad this helped, great job getting it done.

Edit: finally made the jump. Also an Ardennes can be used for this jump. (I couldn't get the dutch warmblood because I'm not far enough through the story)

practicing this jump takes more time and effort than going the long way
Bravo!
If you acquire the Braithwaite Turkoman, it will easily make the jump too.
For anyone wanting the dark bay turkoman, or one of the other 2 horses in that mission, it's easy to get one:
Got this horse, bonded level 4..But i can't catch up the necessary speed to make the jump..Did they fix that in the last month ?
@@ritchienithoo9479 it can be a challenge at first...For the best shot at the jump, I slowly walk the horse onto the bridge, so it's front feet are barely on the wood...then sprint from a dead stop. It comes down to timing the jump correctly.

Pinkertons won't show up.
would this work in a replay mission?

Did it with Arthur with my Turkoman with the alligator saddle.

Guys you know that you don't have to jump through that bridge right you can cross through owanjila dam into great plains that way
This way is much quicker, and as Arthur you have less Pinkertons to fight doing it this way. Of course everyone knows the long way round.
@@Jimbatron I mean as long as you have a 10 speed horse your good
@@jonathanjoestar747 You do not need a top speed horse for this, even if you go the long way round as John in the Epilogue.
I've killed 2 horses trying this jump. Just gonna go through the damn
@@Jimbatron Ah, okay. I might have to try it afterwards then. Thank you
I'm replying rdr2 and for whatever reason I can not complete this mission. I've tried both ways successfully multiple times but nothing happened once I finish. I usually have 6-8 minutes to spare... 🤷🏼♀️
Other reasons for failing (besides missing the time) are falling off your horse (or dismounting), or touching water. This can include quite shallow streams you might not notice (one of the reasons I avoid Emerald Ranch like the plague).
if you have a bounty on the back the law will leave you alone.
Oh heeeeell NAAAAAH bro I’m doin this shit with John
underrrated
Can you explain to me how the hell to stop the goddamn rain for this challenge, that’s so annoying dude
Saving and reloading will often reset the weather. But rain won’t cause you to fail the challenge or make much of a difference. You mustn’t touch a river or lake, but rain water is fine.
I GOT RAN OVER BY A TRAIN ON THE BRIDGE
Before attempting this i named my horse ja morant to give it some extra vertical😂
Why does it always start raining when I do this challenge
in my first attempt i tried to do the jump without practice and i did get across the bridge i was like holy shit but then when i get in blackwater pinkertons killed me in like 10 seconds i cant even react and the most sad part is challenge didnt count and my horse buell died so i had to go on my older saves and do the challange again wish me luck
For the Pinkertons - eat some minty big game to get a gold health core, miracle tonic to get gold health and dead eye levels, then activate dead eye as soon as they appear and kill them with a bolt action rifle.
@@Jimbatronthanks! going to try it right now
@@topraksonmez ps have a stock of health tonics/miracle tonics and be prepared to spam them if the gold health bar runs out and goes white.
Oh hey I had no idea you could fire a weapon and get credit for completing the race.
Yeah. Other than missing the time, the only things that cause a fail are touching water, dismounting or falling off your horse.
Tried this. I was practising the jump, kept falling but my horse did not die. This somehow alerted the Pinkertons anyway and I was shot to pieces while my horse was caught up in the rocks and trees under the bridge....on the starting side of the river.😐
Next time save
Can I still do it in the epilogue if it's way to harsh to make the jump
Yes you can wait until the epilogue and herbalist 9. There are alternative videos for these challenges later in the guide
Is a turkomen horse fine for the jump?
Not tried it. It depends how big it is - you want a large/tall horse. There is no visible stat for this is the game, but it does make a difference. Stand a Hungarian Halfbred or a Dutchwarmblood next to an Arabian and you'll notice the latter is tiny.
I’m curious, why recommend the bolt action rifle over say the Springfield or Lancaster repeater?
Music's a bit too loud, mate
İs Silver Dapple Pinto okey for that mission
1 . Bring the drunken swansen minister.
2 . Put on your horse
3 . Go to the 'Black water'
without pinkertons
(They do not show when you with swanson minister)
4 . If you have donkey just ride it . donkey is best friend when you go there :D
i got across the bridge but we fell off does this still count?
No if you fall off / get off it doesn’t count. Check out this new easier method ruclips.net/video/39j3GG7KIrQ/видео.htmlsi=OQa7iw35egucvVWK
There's two Pinkerton standby around the other side of the broken bridge on watch. Is this normal? How else can I practice the jump?
Never seen that before. I’d imagine if you set up camp and sleep for a bit or ride away and go back they’ll be gone.
@@Jimbatron I've went away for hunting few days came back they're still there. When I try to get into the bridge they actually move closer to the bridge as well. Is it related to certain main quest progression?
@@shirononamae7901 have you done “The first shall be the last” yet where you rescue Sean? If not that might be why.
@@Jimbatron no I haven't. Btw just found out after reload and save on that location they're gone. Appreciate the help. Thanks again
Just tried this, my horse wouldn't go on the bridge, it just reared up and wouldn't go any further...
You’ve got to approach slowly at first
@@Jimbatron thanks, I've done it long way now anyway. Between dumbasses riding their horses into my GTA style and Pinkertons it took 3 or 4 attempts.
i made it across! My horse didnt lol
Edit: It took long but i did it my horse didnt make it though. :( Thx man and also give aa minute silence for BigMan3. the 3 is because well i kinda forgot to save on my 2 practice runs. lol
Will a turkoman be good enough for the jump?
I've not tried it with that horse. But it's less about speed and more about picking a big horse. Unfortunately R* doesn't give you actual size measurements. But if you look at two next to each other it can be a substantial difference. I hitched my White Arabian next to Buell when I did "The Veteran" missions, and it looked like a pony in comparison. The Dutch warmblood as said, or a Hungarian Half-bred would probably be the best choices.
Alright thank you
Listen on 2x speed.
Will the jump work with gold turkoman, plz answer.
I did this but for some reason it didn't get completed.
If you made the bridge jump there is no way you’ll fail the time. Most likely you touched water on route if you didn’t dismount or fall off. Avoid Emerald Ranch like the plague for this reason - there’s a load of puddles there that will cause a fail if you touch them.
why not just take that boat down below the bridge?
to make horseman challenge 9 easier do it while you have a bounty hog tied on the back of your hoarse the pinkertons wont spawn in at all once you have completed the challenge drop off the bounty at the sheriffs office this method doesn't work for herbalist challenge 9 tho 😔
Does this work for any bounties?
herbalist 9 is pretty easy once you get the camera angle right. far easier than trying to clear out del lobo hideouts with a carcass, let me tell you
yes any bounty will work 😀👍
This gonna take some time 😮😢
You can skip this and herbalist 9 to the epilogue if you want - it’s much easier. This is just if you want the Legend of the East outfit and max stats before ch6. If you don’t want it really badly, postpone to the epilogue!
@@Jimbatron lol I practiced a little bit, made the jump a couple times, then started all the way up in annesburg just to miss the jump 🤕😅😅
