Hi from Ireland. My aunt and I used to listen to Mary Black as we travelled through the West coast. She died six years ago on Tuesday. Thanks for making this :)
yes this is Mary Black her voice is so perfect. I want to be Irish also. but alas I'm a proud Geordie from NE England. I was lucky to see mary in Newcastle in the early 90,s with Brian Kennedy in support. Magical.
I've loved Mary Black since i was introduced to her music in 1987 by three wonderful Irish girls. This, indeed, is one of my favourite songs, sung by Mary. I often sing it out loud when I'm sea kayaking below huge cliffs... I'm just a little puzzled why, in the opening titles, it says 'Song for Ireland, The Corrs'? This song was actually written by two English folk singers and songwriters, Phil and June Colclough en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phil_Colclough Wonderful song and a simply wonderful rendition
I am french but I really want to go to Ireland, Unfortunatly, I can't. But from all that could see it's a beautiful country, and I hope I will visit it one day.
je suis française aussi! je vais en Irlande tous les étés depuis que j'ai 10 ans ( j'en ai 15) et je peux te dire confirmer que ce pays est magnifique, accueillant, ensoleillé ( contrairement aux clichés) juste MAGIQUE
No corrs here this is Mary Black and she is the only one that can sing it no disrespect to Luke or the Dubliners BUT it's her song and Mary girl do you sing it. Your a credit to our Country the whole lot of it. You make me feel very proud to be Irish. It's a birth right no creed, colour or denomination need apply it's not a stick to beat anyone, it's a birth right to Irish and be proud. All of us.
This summer I was in Ireland... and I loved so much this country, music, people... grazie Ireland... Kisses From Italia,,,
This is the song that I will go down to, 🙏 Please let it be a long time away.. Love Mary Black ❤️❤️🇮🇪🇮🇪
